Great performances, all of them, but I wish TV networks knew how to mic bands back then. I mean, it isn't just four piece rock bands, it was country bands and others too. It would be nice if they would have mic'd every instrument.

LOL Watch the beginning around 0:24 on. The mic lowers, then when Elvis raises his hand, the mic rises back. That looks hilarious. Even the mics didn't F with The King.

This was his first SIGNATURE performance. With confidence, the crowd knowing who he is by this point, and the band being themselves. the heartbreak hotel performance is the one that I believe was the one that really escalated the jirating hips outcry

it was after this show that Col. Parker flipped out and told Bill Black not to do what he was doing in the background because Parker thought he tried to steal the spotlight from Elvis....never mind the fact that Bill had been doing that from the beginning of his association with Elvis
