I have out paced many different cars on track, E46 M3s, Sti, Supra, and a couple corvettes. It almost always comes down to driver but the MINI is really at home at the track. And driver take it easy on turn in.

if the guy in the mini knew how to drive his car, he would probably do an ok job at keeping up to the wrx. Most of the video consisted of understeer, and bad cornering. the mini is FF, powering out of the corners like that isnt gonna do you any good

mini didnt do terrible considering it was stock. I own and STi and my dad has a Mini S, would love to see both of us get on track like this :D

FYI: this mini is stock, and fitted with stock "run flat " tyres, which have very bad adherence, and lot of noise...
the WRX was not "stock" ( ships + bildstein dumpers + Yokohama 042R ) .
