This is a "reissue" trailer, about six years after the film was initially released. "Kings Row" was also turned into a brief TV series, as part of the 1955-'56 season of "WARNER BROTHERS PRESENTS".
2:35 Are you kidding me?! Seriously?! This infantile Hollywood glamour surpasses thousands of years of literature? Crap, I better put the 'books' down now..
Wonderful music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold who inspired many of today's film composers. He also wrote music for The Sea Hawk and The Adventures of Robin Hood starring Errol Flynn. Thanks for posting - even just for the music alone!!
@M0rganstudios williams was influenced by korngold also elgar and vaughn williams the theme from kings row was reissued in the early 1970s on the classic film scores of erich wolfgang korngold williams must have heard this .When reagan was elected president the whole score was rerecored and issued on a record that version was used in a video in youtube using the opening to twin peks that video was taken out after 3 months then the music reappeard in a video
A movie that has moved me more than any other for quite some time! I had never seen it until last night and couldn't wait to see the ending and the story develop so stayed up late watching it to the end. What a great movie for it's time period!! A turning point for Ronald Reagan as mentioned in the discussion afterward. If you get a chance to see it, don't miss it. From 1942.
They don't turn out stuff like this from Hollywood anymore. Not trashy enough. This is a classic story about overcoming tragedies that I'll never forget.
@Muirmaiden both peyton place and kings row became tv series kings row had jack kelly in the bob cummings role they used the same music for peyton place tv as the movie i assume they did likewise for the kings row tv version but i dont know for sure since ive never seen or heard it

An outstanding film by any standards, and really Hollywood's first fully-blown small town melodrama. Great performances by Reagan and Sheridan.

Sometimes life doesn't turn out like you plan. You can become bitter or accept and move on. Life isn't easy.

This movie has been described as being similar to "Peyton Place" but predating it by several years.
