I did Nanowrimo in 2208 and 2009 I didn't make it in 2009 and won. I'm looking forward to writing in Nanowrimo this year. I'm hoping that I can get some more of my story out on paper. I like this approach to getting out my new story ideas.
I did it last year and I lost :( So I'm attempting once again to write an awesome novel in 30 days! I'm not doing so well so far. I should have about 11,000 words and I'm not even at 3,000. Not to mention I'm not so interested in my story idea anymore. Oh well. It doesn't matter. I WILL WIN IT WITH MY MIGHTY WRITING POWER JUST WAITING TO BE UNLEASHED! Okay, that was a little over the top...

I'm attempting Nanowrimo again this year. I'm actually thrilled because, for the first time, I'm writing an original novel instead of my usual fanfic. I expect it will be trash (I'm looking at it now and it IS trash). But it's MY trash. So I'm happy with it.
I'm so freaking excited for NaNo this year. This will be my second year doing it, we have a novel writing club on campus and NaNo is sort of our kick off event, it's just too bad that this year the kick off is on Sunday night (yay 8am class the next morning).
I've had my idea for a few months now, I've been working on doing some research and outlining. I'm just super excited to get going.
NaNo is my life, LOL. I've won every year I've participated and hoping that I can this year too. And through NaNo, that's where I met my wonderful critique group--if I never participated in it, I never would've met them.
This year, I get to be an ML for our region, so it's even more exciting/insane than previous years. :)
I've done it for a few years and "won" each time... but I still fail at the writing every day thing, I tend to start late every year and then cram the 50K into the final 15 days or something. =P
It's annoying though, even though I reach the 50K, I've never actualyl finished a first draft of anything I've done for NaNo. I think maybe I need to change my target from writing 50K to finishing the first draft.
I did NaNoWriMo last year, and I won it. I can't wait to do it again this year. (Although I still don't have the slightest idea what I'm going to write about. Which bugs me. A lot.)
My NaNovel last year was this dystopian love drama. In 2012 there were lots of nature catastrophes all over the world, and it's just a select few surviving. Technology is pretty much gone, and everyone has to live from hunting and stuff. And everyone fell in love with eachother. It sucked, but it was fun writing it.
I was so hoping you'd do a video on NaNoWriMo! This is my first year doing it and I am soo determined to win. I even ordered As You Wish to use as my reward. I only get to read it when I hit 50,000...if I don't I'll read it anyway :P LOVED Sisters Red, btw!
I loooove NaNoWriMo. This is my seventh year joining -- I've been crazy every November for seven years! I lost my first one, but eventually finished my draft and got to 50k every single year after. It's crazy, but it's fun. And I think sometimes I'm even crazier because I am the ML for our region. So. Much. Fun. :D I think it's the community of writers that helps make the writing process even more fun. :)
Hmm, I may have to try this one year...Having a lot of dental work done all throughout this November, so who knows what kind of fantastical tales I could spin while feeling the effects of the pain meds...lol.
Also, I LOVE YOUR EARRINGS!!!!!! They're little dinosaurs, yes? :)
Last year I wrote 10,000 words. It was more than I had ever written on one subject. So that felt pretty good. Well see if I can put my mind to it and beat the ten thousand mark this year. That's my goal. Improve every year.
I wrote my first novel this last spring. I didn't know what I was doing, just sat down and started typing. I did 97K in 6 weeks. I had my own NaNoWriMo in June.
I was just talked into doing NaNoWriMo to take a break from my edits. I'm looking forward to doing 50K in 4 weeks. All signed up and ready to go! :)
I love NaNoWriMo! I've done it for the past two years and won, although last year I cut it really close. I have no idea what I'm doing this year though and I'm kind of freaking out about it.
You know, I might just try Nanowrimo. I don't have ANYTHING, no school, no work, no anything...just my computer, and a bunch of ideas. I guess it couldn't hurt, even though I don't plan on becoming a writer, like, at all. :P It should be fun, nonethleless, right?
I'm signed up. Last year I petered out after about 7000 words. This year I have a battle plan. This year NO PETERING! It's hard with a day job though.
For NaNoWriMo 2008, I actually didn't know about it until Nov. 1, so I signed up and started writing all in one day, and it was all based off this one scene I had had in my head for the month beforehand. I actually won and I never edited it, but when I went back and re-read it a couple months ago, it was actually better than I thought it was.
Last year, I tried to do it, but then stopped after the first week or so because we were moving during November last year, so it just wasn't working out.
I've never done NaNoWriMo but I do have a funny story to tell. The first time I heard about NaNoWriMo was last year and I didn't realize at the time that if you finish you win. So when someone told me they won NaNoWriMo I was really amazed because I thought they had been chosen as the one winner out of everyone that had participated.
Even though NaNoWriMo is inconveniently placed in the middle of midterms, end of the semester papers, and the start of the holiday shopping season (I work at a department store), I was able to successfully complete NNWM last year during my sophomore year of college. I actually got my professor to join me, but she failed. I ended up scrapping the novel, but it actually kept me on track that semester, since I got my work done early every day to write. If I had an idea this year, I'd do it again.
Last year I wrote a ridiculous awesome stupid story about druggies IN SPACE! I ignored all realism and played with fun characters doing fun things. This year, I'm taking the awesome people and ideas I got from that and writing it for real. I'm really excited. XD
I signed up back in September and I've been planning for my First Nano. I'm pretty chuffed with my idea so far and the plot bunnies have left me be up til now *glances round just in case*
I did Nanowrimo last year and it was awesome even thought I massively failed (I didn't even make the halfway point). I'm so excited for this year! I have no story ideas yet, but I think I'm going to peruse the discussion boards the night before and then go from there.
The discussion boards were still helpful after November because I saved some of the more insane ideas on my computer and when I'm stuck I just skim over those until something interesting comes up. =)
They actually have a Young Adult Program where you can set your own work count. I'm signed up on there :) Right now, for the project I'm working on, I'm doing 500 to 1,000 words a night and have reached 37,000 words but am feeling burnt out. Any advice on how to keep myself going?
I've been doing NaNoWriMo for two years now, this is my third. I haven't one yet but this year that will all change. The experience was really worth it because there IS a community and when you feel like other people are on your side, you want to persevere all the more.
I've done NaNoWriMo twice, and won both times. The first year, I was so behind I spent the last day of NaNoWriMo pounding out 15K in 10 hours. Little freshman me ignored my sister, who lives across country, and all other family to finish. Last year, I had 10K to write and it wasn't NEARLY as bad. I'm trying it again this year, though don't expect to make it through. AP American History OWNS MY SOUL.
I'm doing my first anowrimo this year and even though it hasn't started yet I'm so happy with my choice already. Having a set date to start writing and not being allowed write till then means I've actually planned out the story and have pretty solid characters for once. I usually just jump straight in and it always end up unfinished then because once I run out of initial creative steam I don't really know where I'm going or what to do next. That said my story is still lacking a middle. :P
i signed up early this morning and stayed up awhile planning out the c haracters, and outlines a few chapters but there are still plenty of potholes in my storyline. Not exactly happy with it wondering if i might have gotten way over my head
