  • Just for the hell of it I want one for World of Tanks

  • its too loud

  • Also in Men of War but much better :)

  • The pope during a WWII... was a Flak operator... is not a joke.... really.

  • weapon of mass desruction in Blitzkrieg game :)

  • its scary 2 think.. look how Advance the german War machine was compared 2 the allies and the Soviet.. noo way ther would win the war if Hitler wasent a fagget if he listen 2 hes generales ther would rape this Earth

  • @BunBRIP he would not rape the Earth he would bring justice and peace

  • @88Matija hahahhahah u funny.. nazi

  • @BunBRIP there is no such things as a nazi, because they do not exist any more. And why do you think justice and peace is funny?

  • @88Matija u say hitler would make peace hahaha soo u dont call uself a nazi,, oki

  • @BunBRIP Yes? You know I read books... I am historian and its bellow my level to say some nonsense about great stuff that happened in the near past. 1. example: type in google Rudolf Galland interview, and see what he says about Hitler he was speaking with him in person. If you want more I will give you tons of it. Wish you a good day.

  • @88Matija bro u no alort.. thx man i keep in touch if i need som more thx

  • @ElCreepoAustraliano Exactly! :P lol, sorry... I understand your point(even though you said it incorrectly) but it was more useful in my opinion than what you said initially...

  • good, good

  • These Flak Panzers seemed like a good idea (for greater protection of armoured columns) but was not really mass produced and considered ineffective by some critics (maybe because it was not mass produced and production was focused on Tanks and tank hunter AFV)

  • @ElCreepoAustraliano Actually, they ended up building 87-105 of the Wirblewind type. And 45 of the Ostwind's which had a single 3.7cm Flak 43 mounted. And they weren't the only types of armoured/motorised AA systems fielded by the German Wehrmacht.

  • @imwithbf2 yes but 105 is a lot when put into context of mass production, the SDKFZ 140 Flakpanzer 38 (t) was the most numerous

  • "Ich bin ein Berliner".

  • OMG flak panzer

  • hey did you see that? superman, FIRE, eheh...stronger then a bullet in america come to germany bammmmmmmmmmmmm shot x82904328048392433822304840892

  • Dear Santa,

  • @l0nekiller I want the quad 50 mount, it holds more ammo has better guns AND better fire control systems...at least the quad 50 can retrofit a functioning radar.

  • i am from spain .. and the Germans are superior beings of any race, the Spanish should we kill all the genes were not Germanic .. with since barbarian invasions of the Swabians and Visigoths, and make a purer Spain, out of Gypsy and mixed blood, a germanic race, are the best hail Deutschland, long live the Germans in Spain respect them a lot

  • @1elgalle1 lol you're pathetic

  • @PatrikCOH hail Deutschland!

  • @1elgalle1 what a load of shit.

  • @GrigoriZhukov I am against genocide hitler and Ratko Mladic, is the same shit does not know how an Austrian not German, he could fool all of Germany

  • @1elgalle1 WTF?! I mean... yes, Spain has Goths, Maurs (Arabic), Roman, etc. blood in their veines... But dude... Really?! Races? Who gives a damn? I dislike stupidity and idiotism, no matter what race. There are morons and/or awesome people in all races. No matter black ghetto, white trash, asian, hispanic, etc. Greetings from a German in the US.

  • @matt47110815 traitor, and when it is 20% WHITE ONE IN THE WORLD

PLANET SEIR fuck, whites are the only ones to save the human race (blacks, arabars, chinsses, Indians, Hispanics) conquering space

there is something in the human mind that makes us unique, Greek Roman Barbarians Vikings, colon, frederic Chopen, victor hugo, Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun, and a lot of Germans

which sparked the genocide are rubbish, but these people are not, Erwin Rommel was a soldier

    greetings!!

  • Imagine if they added two more guns on it while it has a rate of fire similar to MG42 or better. That would make pilots shit their pants big time.

  • dear santa...

  • Enough of these may have made a difference, like so many German weapons.

  • this AA gun owns ass, it has four 20MM guns which most people think that they just fire bullets, but they are actually called "autocannons" for bieng capeble of firing EXPLOSIVE SHELLS at very high speeds.... this thing is doom for anything flies far away or nearby it, it was totally powerful.

  • @dividednation44 Too bad is a was limited production run

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring yeah, they were expensive. their guns are the shit, they could be pointed downwards and used to shred apart any tank with their exellent AT purpose four 20MM guns. the wirbelwind is the shit (the realy good shit)

  • @dividednation44 Weren't these only used on the eastern front? I don't recall reading about them used against the western allies

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring i dont think they will be ever avilable and deployable at the eastern front, the skies of the eastern front were completley controlled by the luftwaffe anyways but the wirbelwinds were surely used to their last in defending against the attacking allies. like how most other few german mobile anti aircrafts were used

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring they were used mostly for anti-aircraft in the west, but in the east were used in huge amounts as anti-personnel weapons, wiping out Russian human-wave attacks.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh not if it'd be hilarious.

  • shit, where can i get one ?? got this cat in my backyard every night!!!!! >.<

  • I bet its crews were completely deaf by the time the war ended.

  • I would use this to shoot down the clay pigeons :p

  • The wirbelwind was also a dangerously effective Anti infantry tank.

Man, the germans know how to make brilliant vehicles :)

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh I think thats the idea. :D

  • @CF4LIf3 animal cruelty and slaughter sucks. :(

  • These give me nightmares in IL-2 Sturmovik.

  • @CMDKeenCZ Awesome! They kill me too.

  • @addys - I remember flying in IL-2 and getting trashed by one of them. I tried to land on one airport, but my throttle was damaged and it was locked on 110%. I couldn't get in the air again, so I just drove on a frozen river until I ran out of fuel. (It was a procedural campaign and I didn't want to die).

  • Such a funny name for such a mean vehicle

  • GEEZUS that would be loud

  • ahh... the things I could do with a Wirbelwind!

  • these r good if it was computer controlled ppl coming to ur house to rob you can use it to scare them off

  • ear protection comes to mind.

  • wirbelwind means tornado in english

happy new year from germany xD

  • Santaa, come heree, I got a present for youu...

  • to shoot down Santa?

  • @ trx182

    ...me to!

  • This weapon is in Company Of heros in the Panzer Elite or Blitzkrieg Doctrine :)

  • @BiohazardCrow And is in R.U.S.E. too!

  • @BiohazardCrow .

    Fail !

yes u can use and find this in Company of Heros, but the panzerElite can use this Flak in LuftWaffen doctrine or the Werhmatch in the Last Panzer Build.

  • @BiohazardCrow panzer elite luftwaffe

  • @BiohazardCrow It's also in Normandy 1944-mod of CoH for Wehrmacht and Panzer Elite, in two different forms; Wirbelwind and Ostwind. Model depends on which real life unit used the AA panzer. Blitzkrieg is a good mod, but after playing 1944 I can't go back to the way the game was created. I like playing with real loadouts that historical military units used. Some are balanced, some a are weak, some are strong and some are overpowered. It all depends on what the real life counterpart used.

  • Dear Santa....

  • these tanks just ripped aircraft and infranty to shreds and yes they could be moved to mowe down infantry my grampa told me stories of 2 of them killing 100s of men on a beach it wasnt a tank but a aa battery

  • @rdj90 Finaly someone who knowes what he's talking about, you know far more than "wahttefuk" about tanks!

  • I want to use this on my neighbour.. can i?

  • @cutmenow990 dude, you should go to the therapy or something

  • @cutmenow990 If his Polish, yes!

  • 09.05.1945

  • I heard that in normandy a single wirbelwind killed 600 american soliers, firing his 4 guns on them!

  • @TheYamR6Sp Yeah, no. Thats wrong. You cant even aim the housing down to anti-personnel level.

  • @wahttehfuk Yes you can, the turret alowes that, look at the 2 sleeves, tha guns can be lowerd down.

  • @TheYamR6Sp you heard wrong

  • I would like one to shooty down the damn aeroplanes flying over my house ALL the time.

  • i want one for cristmas

  • @soren517

    Amen

  • @bremmario :)

  • My grandfather shot a crow with one of these :)))

  • @S300V thats a pile of bull shit. im sure you have NO proof of that, and im sure your grandfather did not have the times to do that. if you were to mess around in the Wehrmacht army like that wasting bullets on a cow you would have a 9mm at you forehead within seconds of doing that.

  • @grandtheftauto4123 :)) not a cow! a CROW! Btw he was not in the wehrmacht and it was at the end of the war. Also I have proof of that! Infact multiple photos from various angles :) I take his words as proof.

  • @S300V if you say he was not part of the wehrmacht than how did he get his hands on a wirbelwind and to waste ammo on a crow. in war you dont have time to fuck around.

  • @grandtheftauto4123 German leftovers in Hungary. War has almost ended by than.

  • @grandtheftauto4123 And that would just waste one more 9mm for the guy doing that.

  • nazis had some good machines back then

  • wtf is that?..i only see a few tank and flak gun..no-no BOOM?..

  • thats a 4x 20mm flak - very effective if there is also a 3,7 mm flak nearby that could start shooting at the targets from more far away - that combo was mounted on the submarines in the later war years ie

  • video is fucked up. keeps on loading and laggin away.

  • the best gun light caliber of the german

  • These things are SO much fun to use in Aces High II, you can literally shred planes to pieces in a single burst!

  • fuck off dumb ass i´ve never heard anything whats more bullshit than what you say

the gestapo was one thing and the bnd a totelly different thing...without the bnd there would be massive terrorism here in germany but they save us all.... GOOD WORK BND

  • @vogelfrei4 the BfV and MAD have more to do with it, not the BND

  • Man, how much fun would one of these be to use for duck hunting.

  • lol

  • @rickoc386 be like damn 12 gage out ammo what do we use now *bash down wall with aa tank* oh yea!!

  • @rickoc386 you wouldn't have much left to eat

  • @rickoc386 I think you can even shoot down angels from the clouds with that beast machine.

  • @rickoc386 Dude... you would shoot those poor ducks to tiny bloody pieces with that thing :O

  • @rickoc386 there be no duck left xD

  • @rickoc386 what duck, 1 round = puff ball of feathers

  • @rickoc386 none, none whatsoever.

  • Looks like the Shilka is a copy of this xD

  • wirbelwind = 20mm

    ostwind = 37mm

  • i have a model of one of those (toy)

  • nice the wirbelwind 37 mm anti aircraft tank

  • 20 mm... 37 mm is like a fking cannon

  • Bla-bla-bla...This video is way too short, that should be the point discussed!

  • Oh cool a whirlwind

  • somehow i understand why its called wirbelwind

    (whirlwind)

  • The 'Blitz' was much better, Blitz was the best AA weapon in the WWII.The only problem was that germans hadnt any ressources anymore, so it couldnt shoot long because it handt much amunition

  • oh yeah? can you show me a vid or a picture whit the blitz? thx

  • I meant 'Kugelblitz' sry

just type 'Kugelblitz panzer' and i am sure you ll find something. Use google or youtube

  • I believe these used the standard 20mm anti-aircraft gun.

  • yes, its the standard "Vierlings-Flak"

  • Just think how awesome a ZSU 23-4 is

  • Looked cool enough... but that don't mean it's effective for the cost to produce.

Had a scaled model as a child...

    Was it good against infantry?

    What is the caliber?

I want to mount one on the top of my Landcruiser FJ 60!! No more taffic problems. lol

  • well ofc it was good against infantry, all german AA guns where designed and used as so that they could shoot at ground targets, and since the wirbelwind shoots with 4 barrels it has a larger area of effect.

I dont know the caliber, but look it up on wikipedia

  • I was curious about the uses and if effective in the roles that it was deployed for... I didn't know much about this weapon.

    I will check into wiki.

    Thanks.

  • mainly it was ment as an AA gun and ofc against the infantry

  • cool, thanks.

  • It's a mobile quad 20mm cannon. If you put it on a truck you better have some serious stabilizers. The Israelis put a dual 20mm on a hummer-like jeep. The advantage of tracked base is that you can have mobile AA installation with loads of ammo that could be carried inside.

  • Yes. I can agree with you and the fact ammo loads on board with the tank tread is good idea.

Did the version the Israelies' used prove to be effective?

  • I think it would be quite cumbersome to use against infantry but you could ofcourse use it to pin them down while your own troops flank them..

  • It was also used against inf and light armored vehicles. The HE ammo which was used, was perfect to fight inf.

  • It's in a defensive role when it's used on infanttry. read up any eastern front books and u'll hear bout the 20mm chewing up hundreds of russians. ;)

  • My grandad was in the war fighting the russians and he told that the russians made suicidial infantry charges against the finnish trenches and the Finns killed thousands of them with MGs. Lol if they did the same against a german force with Wirbelwinds :P

  • they did indeed!. i read a book from a german gunner's view and he said they'd fake having their guns jam so that the russians would mass up on that 'weakened' flank and then BOOM! the flak gun hiding would rape them from close range.

  • AA systems like this would have a relatively fast traverse for tracking aircraft.

Even to this day, ZSUs and other air defence platforms are primary targets for infantry anti-tank because of the damage they can do at close range.

  • 20 milimeter

  • the fact is that weapon was a failure..the reason being it was mounted on a panzer4 chassis when it could have easiliy been fixed to the back of a truck...........waste of resourses

  • That's not the reason it was a failure...

The successor of the wirbeldwind (the ostwind) was also mounted on a Panzer IV. So at least German high command did not thought of the tank chassis being a failure.

It did needed replacement because it was lacking range and accuracy.

  • yes, but it could destroy a lot of airplanes.

  • denfence

  • well you needed the armor because it was front line duty, and used against ground etc as well. Rear used a towed system

  • @RifledBarrel

you are totally right if they just mounted it on a Opel Blitz truck and them they need to protect it with some steel

  • the opel blitz is not mean for weapons it has no armor and it has no strength to hold up a wirbel. You'd need to mount it to an opel blitz with reinforced steel and aluinimum, and it would also need to be a lot bigger or not many troops could fit. So and wirbel on an opel is out of the question

  • If it would be fixed on a truck it would have to be an armored car because a wirbelwind can not fit and is too heavy for a regular german truck, it would have been a new design of truck otherwise they would have lost too much time and resources into making new vehicals.

  • what are you basing that on, that 4 20mm Flak cannons are too heavy for a flatbed?

  • schizo you might bring it on :) from 35mm to xvid:)

  • You couldn't be more wrong, strategist for 9 years.

But I thank you for your insult.

  • What do you expect from a 65 year old camera, ultra-HD 1920x1200 resolution?

  • Germany makes the best motion picture cameras and optical lenses in the world. Even 65 years ago the Carl Zeiss and Leica lenses used to document the German war effort were razor sharp. Project this same footage you see here on the big screen and you get cinematic quality picture, which isn't comparable to digital video's pixel count, because it's 35mm film.

The bad quality here is solely due to crappy video transfer.

  • @ApocDevTeam actually they film it on 35 mm film back then, so it was more than HD, you can get 2k scans from it if you have the right equipment. But this here is a copy of a copy of a copy plus some nasty you tube compression.

  • @domWWW I am sure they filmed most of the material with 16mm or even smaller, but you are right; even the quality from a 16mm scanned would be close to HDTV, and certainly more than Youtube's resolution

  • @ApocDevTeam

the problem is not the old analog camera

it is the modern shrinked film

    looks like VCD

  • @ApocDevTeam

No, but 1920x1080. No camera shoots in 1920x1200. Just because your monitor is 16:10 doesn't mean cameras are too.

Anyway, just adding 120 pixels to Full-HD (1920x1080) would not make it ultra-anything...

    Maybe 3840x2160 would be Ultra-HD.

  • @ApocDevTeam actually the original film is mostly 16mm or 35mm and is easily capable of producing a 3000x2000 or 6048 x 4032 @300dpi image respectively.

    HD TV is only 72dpi.

    So yes I'd expect Ultra-HD 1920x1200 res :)

  • @DenwarTheoriginal You get the resolution, but not the quality ;D

  • @DenwarTheoriginal Yet another misunderstanding of DPI. DPI means dots per inch, hence it's only relevant when talking about physical media. "HD TV" has no DPI resolution - nor does any other digital file. Since you can display a 1920x1080 HD movie on both a 24 inch screen and a 100 inch projector screen, the dots per inch will vary with the media it's being displayed on. The number of dots in a digital movie clip is fixed, DPI varies with what it's displayed on. Makes sense, yes?

  • @MC68EC040 DPI is 300dpi or higher at time of scanning the original film.

Once scanned the images can be used on any media at full resolution or smaller.

Most web image/media is 72dpi for on screen viewing.

  • @DenwarTheoriginal Web images/media are digital, so the files don't "have" any DPI at all. They only have a fixed number of pixels. 72 dpi has been a common pixel density on many screens, but the files themselves can't have a DPI. It's quite logical, a 1024x768 video/image will have a low DPI on a large screen (few pixels per inch, as the screen is large), and a higher DPI on a small screen (many pixels per inch), for example an iPhone.

  • @MC68EC040 given the resolution is the same on the compared devices, that is..

  • @MC68EC040 actually images files do store DPI, which can vary for the intended use print/screen etc.

DPI is the old school word, it's now called PPI but I continue to use DPI.

Just like film use to be rated in ASA or DIN if you even older than me.

I still often say ASA instead of ISO but its the same thing.

  • @DenwarTheoriginal Hehe, yeah, they do store it for sure.. which I guess why so many people seem to think it's some kind of inherent quality/resolution indicator.. PPI is pixels per inch right, and DPI dots per inch, used when printing. So still some kind of distinction.

So I'm not sure the ISO/ASA analogy is 100% fitting, as that's more of an intrinsic value to a film, where as DPI can be set to anything on a file. I know they can be pressed to higher ISO's yeah.. hehe. Anyhow.. cheers! :)

  • @DenwarTheoriginal Given the resolution of the large vs small screen is roughly the same, or so. Yeah yeah yeah I'm sure you know all this already... I should work :/

  • Desweiteren, D-Day und Wirbelwind ?

  • That must have been a deadly weapon to use.

  • Four 50.cal mounted hahaha

  • isnt it 20mm?

  • yes it is four 20mm aa guns also known as flakvirling

  • It was a terrible weapon for Allies soldier !

If soldiers was hit by Wirbelwind, they

    would be a ........
