I bought a Scarab and the springs broke after 3 days of normal use of just flicking the switch. The same thing happend with the Ultratech and the Combat Troodon. 3 days and KAPUTT. I sent them back I find It a sham that Microtech puts so much craftmanship into making thier awesome knives, but uses poor springs. Just thought Id tell my story before someone else lays down that kind of cash like I did thinking thier getting a superior product.
whoever says otf knives are only toys has never carried or used one. I've edc'd 1 for 2 years and it has done every medium/normal task ive wanted it to do. Would I take it out to the woods to survive, am i going to gut and skin a deer with it, of course not. make sure the blade is clean after use and its best to carry it in a sheath so you don't get anything inside it. Ive never used a sheath tho, just my pocket. Fires just as good when i got it. Also imo Get a single edge not the dagger.
@litematter I'v edc'd an otf for about a year now and it's great. Defiantly not a toy. I even pushed it to the limit and stabbed through boards. Deployment is fast and so is putting it away. I would honestly just carry a fixed blade but people would think it's strange if I had a knife on my hip. No one thinks twice about a knife clipped to my pocket.
The guy is most likely a collector. If he has $500 laying around, let him get whatever he wants with it, he's helping the economy and doing no harm. I agree that OTFs are shitty as far as practicality goes, but who complains when someone pays $10,000 on a car or a painting? I bought a clone of this knife for $40 because I had the money laying around. I bought a Bradley Kimura VIII for $95 because I knew it would be fun. I'm 15 without a job. This could be pocket change to him.
that would suck if u had it in ur pocket in walmart and u accidentally flipped the switch on the handle and u stabbed urself and ppl think that ur randomly yelling out loud XD
i dont know if these are legal in va but i want one

Nice knife that you have no use for, 500 well spent .... Not.
Maybe if you were military .... Wait no military wouldn't use a shitty OTF knife ha
