  • Evolution is unbiblical for 1 reason: Death. Evolution requires the death and decay and change from A to B. Death from a Biblical perspective doesnt come onto the scene until Gen. 2 and 3. How do you get Evolution without death? How do you get Evolution, a change from something bad to something better to something good, when God calls his creation in a passive verbage "Good". Someone please speak up about this.

  • good, I'm glad to see not all Christians are batshit insane.

  • I agree! I'm tired of the assumption that all Christians are ignorant, buck-toothed retards. Creationism is NOT the same thing as Christianity. Christianity is about having a intimate relationship with the Creator who can only be known through the human spirit (and not the mind). Creationism is about trying to prove the existence of God based on empirical evidence (which is impossible and distorts the meaning of faith).

  • I'm a rational thinker and I don't aspire to any religion, but I like this video. Good job and I hope the Fundies will listen.

  • Thank you very much for this clarification. As a European who frequently discusses religious topics with Americans I have really begun to have serious doubts about the education of Americans in general and American Christians in particular.

  • HAHAHAHHAAHAHHA hey you stupids, evolution is repeated every time a women becomes pregnant! YEAH LET IT MARINATE DICKHEADS.

  • So some "Christians" would rather believe fallible, corruptible men than their all-knowing, all-powerful God? They would rather put their trust in people and the science of the day. Just remember scientists have been wrong before. I admit that I as a Creationist do not have all the answers but neither do evolutionists

  • @HRHBeatrix

You are a sheep man.....talk about you fallowing the bible literaly!!

  • Im a Christian and I believe in evolution. The biggest fear I have is that when evolutionary theory has no more gaps and is irrefutable, the Creationists will look like idiots and hurt the cause of the Gospel. People will say "you were too stupid to get this right so why should I believe what you say about Christ?". I see that happening.

  • @AegeanKing

You claim to be a Christian but yet you are an evolutionist... That is an oxymoron. You can't be a christian and an evolutionist. That is like saying you are a Christian and a Satanist. If you believe in the bible you CAN'T believe in evolution. The genealogy of the bible proves that the earth is around 6,000 years old, not millions or billions. In addition God's word said that GOD created MAN and the Heavens and the Earth, period. If you go against that you go against God's word.

  • @russog3 You are the one who gives Christians a bad name by believing that the universe is 6,000 years old. Not even the most ancient theologians believe such nonsense. Also, many ancient Christians like Saint Augustine in the 4th century said that God created by a long process. If you take every single word in the Bible literally then you don't know how to read the Bible.

  • @AegeanKing

In addition, the whole THEORY of evolution (which has more holes in it than Swiss Cheese) try's to debunk the facts that the bible proves, and try's to disprove the bible and God. 76% of American's claim to be Christians, so your claim to Christianity doesn't mean you are a follower of Jesus Christ. Any true Christian doesn't go against the essentials of the bible and the creation of the universe. Stop claiming to be a Christian if you are against what the word of God says.

  • Papafox., you're so good you're like Papafox, Papawolf and Papabear all rolled into one. This smart video demolishes the lies that Christianity and evolution are incompatible and that the majority of Christians reject sound science and evolution. Creationists like to claim that they are the only real Christians and that all others are sub-standard in some way. That is as wrong as it is offensive. Rational, sane Christians believe in and support evolution. That's the real fact.

  • what a LOAD of crap

as a non-christian and non-creationist I can honestly say that evolution is the biggest LOAD of pseudo-scientific garbage I've ever heard in my life.

    Total nonsense and easily disproven

  • You have some good points, but there's problem in the unloving and patronizing way you communicate. Also, while we certainly should work on Bible exegesis and doctrine compatible with evolution, we should not forget what is most important. Christ first, science second or third.

  • fantastic video I subbed

  • If God said he made everything in so many days...how do we know Gods days are different from our days? For instance, early biblical people lived hundreds of years...so how do we not know that time then was different than time now

  • The only belief other than Atheist, Agnosticism, etc that can actually believe in Evolution is Deism

  • Ugh I wish religion never existed. They tell me I'm going to burn in a pit of fire forever and that being gay makes me defective and wrong or something =\

  • This man is so wrong! I am a Bible-based Christian and I do not believe in evolution. I believe every word that procedeth out of the Word of God. If He said He created the world in six day then that is good enough for me.

  • Very well said buddy . I'm a Christian myself who embraces evolution which as you already mention hasn't taken anything away from me as our God still stands firm . Other than the cursing I agree with everything proposed . Thanks :)

  • @blopajmbar62

My question to you then is which God are you serving? A Creator God or the creature god. There is a clear and definite distinction.

  • @howsimpleisit56 what you mean by the creature God? im serving the creator God ..the author of life. Just b.c evolution is true doesn't mean scientists started life... scientist discovred how life evolved but how it started? well obviously everything has it's source on God. Atheist believe matter created everything ( it's been proven ) but i believe it was our God who created this matter that created the universe. :)

i'd like to talk to you about this ...the bible is the word inspired by God

  • @blopajmbar62

There is two God's in this world. The Creator of the Universe and the creature god - satan. False doctrines abound in religion and many religions preach 'doctrines' that are not found in Scripture.

The Bible is for 'simple' man and God did not make His Doctrines difficult to understand. His simple Truths are for ALL people and are to be taken literally.

God says He created the heavens and the earth and He did this in six literal days.

  • @howsimpleisit56 i believe the word of God is inspired. But what im saying is we are really ignorant sometimes. We don't really need everything in the bible and what all that is in the bible means. the bible is an infinite book . itis we who are ignorant sometimes. When jesus said "it's better for you to lose a member of your body then to lose yourself " did Jesus really mean that we have to take our eyes off and cut our hands or legs? or course not in that way there are many things in the

  • @blopajmbar62 bible we are still figuring out. Revalation was a book st augistine hated it. Not b.c he didnt read the bible ( st augustine is probably one of the greatest theologians in the christian faith ) he hated it b.c he did not understand it... he didnt know what a dragon meant ( satan ) or the best meant ( anti christ ) we do today and same in our time there are things we dont understand and we are starting to get a light to it .. be open minded and search for truth . I dont have any

  • @blopajmbar62

From this I take it that you are Catholic. I was reared a catholic and I was clearly told NOT to open the book of Revelation and if I did I would have a nervous breakdown. I was also told I would NEVER go to Heaven because I had committed 'mortal sin' by divorcing. Where does that leave a 'child of God'?

I am extremely open-minded. I have studied the Bible intensely over 30 years. I have also studied environmental/behavioural science, disability and Business Adminstration.

  • @blopajmbar62

I love catholic people BUT its doctrine is wrong; very wrong. Let me use an example: in my cathecism the ten commandments of God have been changed. In Exodus 20 they are completely different to the catholic church's. Commandment 2 has been taken out completely and Commandment 10 has been divided to make up ten.

What does that mean? Read Daniel 7:25. God's Commandments - Creator God. Man's commandments - creature God.

  • @blopajmbar62

I beg to differ with you. I read the Whole Tenor of Scripture and accept ALL that is teaches. I do not pick and choose what verses suit my intellect. The whole of Scripture was inspired by God and if man has a conflict with it; it is man's ignorance and he needs to go to God for Truth to be understood...

  • @blopajmbar62

I have a 'wholistic' approach to Scripture and we need to understand the environment, human behaviour, and have a firm foundation of Scripture. All 'true doctrine' is found in Genesis - it is the foundation of the True Building. That foundation is built up through Scripture - a Golden Thread of Truth - and has its conclusion in Revelation.

Once the 'true foundation' is established need to allow God to change our behaviours/attitudes that are foreign to His Kingdom.

  • @blopajmbar62

Now the the 'hell' doctrine. Study its history and you will see it came from paganism. There is no such place as hell or purgetory. 'Hell' means 'hades' and hades means the grave. Do a 'topic' study of the 'state of the dead' and you will find that when you die you 'sleep in the dust of the earth' until Jesus' Second Coming. Example: read Thessalonians 4:13-18.

How could anyone believe in a God of Love who was so cruel as to burn His people in hell for Eternity. It isn't logical

  • @howsimpleisit56 doubts my God is real, i don't have any doubts about the word or Jesus but I'm open minded to ask God for direction and guidance. Believing in evolution doesn't make God less reliable .. it actually proves our point that We know ( as christians ) that God was the author of life. I hope this answer some questions... if you have any others let me know ... my dream is to one day defend the faith and teach the word and make disciples ..im preparing myself to serve my Lord

  • @blopajmbar62

If you are a Christian how can you deny Genesis One? If Genesis One is not right then how can you understand Revelation 21 and 22? God has a Plan A - Genesis 1 - and due to sin Plan B is now in place. Do you think that Plan A will one day be apart of this earth? I believe in a 'Thus Saith the Lord' and the whole tenor of Scripture. I am a Creationist and I believe in Genesis. I look forward to Plan A being apart of planet earth again. I go to God to have Him answer my questions.

  • @blopajmbar62 If you intend spreading the word you better believe it! Truth is truth theory is an idea, not proven fact, the theory of evolution is a theory and has not gained the title, Facts of Evolution.Life on earth exists only due to its biodiversity and the symbiosis within that biodiversity. When a keystone species becomes extinct in an ecosystem it fails and subsequent species also become extinct, irrefutable and observable. Life is becoming extinct due to irreverance of humanity.IGNORANCE

  • @2karriizman im not catholic im christian ... and why dont you believe in hell? its all over the bible. you are blind man ... how can you say there is no helll.... when the rich man ( the story of lazarus) when to hell the bible says he lifted up his eyes and was burning with flames and asked for help...... so you are gonna take that away from the bible just to make it believe what you wanna believe? shame on you

  • @blopajmbar62 I think you should pop your glasses on and re read my comment i have not accused you of anything.Good for you searching for truth, i did not mention hell. For me there are many profound truths in the bible and there are many storys i have yet to unravel, Hell is one of those .My personal view is there would be no justice if punishment for any crime was eternal torture and a God of love would not be capable of committing a dispicable act.

  • This is wrong. Are you insane? It goes against God words. I dont accept evolution. You either believe in God or not. Thats your choice. But you cant be christian and evolutionist at the same time. It doesnt make sense.

You cant call yourself for a christian if you believe in evolution. Those who believe in evolution are certainly fake christians and dont follow God words. Most catholics are nothing but sinners because they do things that are against God words.

  • The Eastern Orthodox Church sees no contradiction between science and the scriptures as well.

  • Show your face or are u too ugly

  • @darknight13 Pretty ironic that the guy who uses Batman's nickname as his screen name is the same guy telling someone to 'unmask' themselves...

  • @drfitnessnow I made this account before the Darknight movie even came out. Gf, lol. Have any better come back?

  • @darknight13 umm...the Darknight has been Batman's nickname for decades!! Anyways, it wasn't a comeback since I initiated the comment...and your apparent lack of knowledge concerning Darknights origins shows you must be about 15 yrs old...

  • @drfitnessnow

    You mad?

  • Even as a an Atheist and believer in Evolution I still can't see why you defend God and the idea of a virgin birth. Or the idea that a God was even needed to create man through a process that evolution (Natural Selection) teaches as RANDOM.

I just don't by this SELL OUT from T.E. as its too close to the I.D. Argument.

  • It's a good first step. Remains to accept that life came about through abiogenesis, and that there needs no supernatural force manipulating anything for evolution to take place.

  • This video is filled with contradictions.

Why would you give us the perception that you're for Christianity and Evolution co-existing, then post something on the screen saying that those believe that are not real Christians?

  • @jshjamaar To... debunk that claim? See the sarcastic "TM"? There are no obvious contradictions in this video.

  • what language is "amazing grace" sung in?

  • Good video. I'm certainly a Christian that rejects YEC and I happily challenge their nonsense on youtube as well as in my church. Unfortunately all I do re the USA is piss YEC players over there as I am Australian.

Mind you, although they are still minor players here, we did provide the world with that nasty worm Ken Ham and so my own activity is a sort of "mea culpa"

  • Christians can change their own opinions on a whim and alter the meanings of the bible or any religious text to suit their own views. Unfortunately evolution, science ( including abiogenesis ) does not require any god or supernatural force to operate.

Like any atheist we would welcome any evidence that ANY god or figures such as jesus actually existed. Christians must accept that the primitive bible is their only 'evidence'. Stop cherry picking bible stories as fiction or non-fiction.

  • @MikeWhiskyTango are you people sure you know anything about biblical scholarship?

  • Fundamentalists do not represent Christians, they are a minority but they are loud and most of all WRONG.

  • Comment removed

  • Theistic evolution? That's just another way of saying for God of the gaps.

The bible MUST be taken literally or it can be interpreted in pretty much any way you want. Luckily for those who leave it open to interpretation, is only when it is read literally that it is revealed to be a dated fallible pile of crap.

Genesis IS what Christians MUST believe if they put any stock in the rest of the bible.

In this way, I believe Evolution has killed God, and none too soon.

  • Interesting video. THX for posting.

However, I don't see how a politician's relig viewpt has anything to do with his/her suitablility for ofc. It'd be a rare day in the legislature when such views would have any relevance to good governance.

  • This is actually an interesting video. Thank you.

  • I'd recommend an article Theodosius Dobzhansky wrote called 'nothing makes sense in biology expect in the light of evolution.' Evolution is the truth, the evidence for it is so clear that it would be illogical to deny it. Established scientific facts are not a matter of opinion. A single act of creation 6000 years ago where the first man is made out of mud and then the first woman is made out of the man's rib is simply untrue and absurd.

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33

I was just thinkinging about that, I'm not realy religious, I do have a hard time with the supernateral aspects of things, but I do understand that if there is a god he used the prosses of evolution, but I have a hard time with the idea of a loving thiestic god that created everything, " evolution is a part of god's love", you got the suffering from biological agients, starvation, viruses, pradation and psyological maliadies in humans.

  • @pbrskater26 I think if someone rejects evolution & accepts literal creation then yes they have to try and explain the Aids virus. There may or may not be a God but if there is then God did not go out of his way to make sure some children were born with mental retardation or cerebral palsy. Nobody who is sane thinks a Loving God wanted those things. With evolution it does expain the beauty in nature & even the Alturism (see W.D Hamilton, Kin Selection) but it also expalins the bad too.

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33

I have been to the UK in the sommer of 2001 when I graduated high school, I been to london and whittly bay. I'm more of a naturalist, but I think it's still good to try and understand the metepysical world. I have ADD and a bit of a learning dissibility, as you could tell from my spelling, but I'm still as smart as everyone else, I use my understanding of science and evolutinary thought to help understand my ADD.

  • @pbrskater26 I live in the UK where the church has is fine with evolution. In the USA things are different & at times it is almost like religion & evolutionary science are at war. I'm agnostic about God in that if I can't find out if something is true or false, I suspend judgement. I'm a Christian in the sense that I like christmas, the teachings of Jesus & the Anglican church. I'm still young & my beliefs about life will change as I learn more but 1 thing I am sure of is man evolved from Apes.

  • Brothers and sisters- i can say only one thing- Believe in Lord no mather what! I am becoming a franciscan friar and i accept evolution without problem. Old testament uses a lot of symbolic things and it should not be taken literaly all the time!

  • nice video, but what is the truth? Is it here or here:

see: Why Evolution is Stupid Dr. Kent Hovind - Clip 01

  • @tonyvolf Hovind is a con artist, a fraud and a convicted criminal. His "doctorate" is from a mail-order diploma mill. Look him up on Wikipedia for some LOLs.

  • @papafox

Wow, I was hoping somone would say that!!

  • @papafox

Really! Holly shit I will look!

  • @tonyvolf

Hovind is probably the least reliable source around.

I know ad hominem attacks aren't really kosher, but I have seen most of his stuff and he is the most awful liar around.

His stint in gaol (jail to you guys in the USA) is well deserved.

  • great video!

  • This is refreshing. I was starting to think that Christianity in the USA was almost irredeemably infected by YECS. It is such a debacle of a theology and what's worse;

    1) Oz has exported some of its worse proponents over there (Ken Ham being the most embarressing example)

    2) We are now importing the tripe into our churches. I really despise Creationism.

  • Thanks. The danger is not only that fundamentalists and many evangelicals embrace pseudo-science for their own religious reasons, but that a generally uneducated American public--even those who are not especially religious--will view this pseudo-science as an option. Christian fundamentalists remain a *minority* in the US, so it seems that many who uncritically accept this pseudo-science do so not because of any religious affiliation or belief, but because they are uninformed and/or unmotivated.

  • @GradStud28

Good point. A lot of Americans simply don't know any better, and with the propaganda mills at places like the Discovery Institute and YEC Web sites, there's a lot of disinformation out there. Thank God for the US Court system.

  • @papafox The US courts declared Atheism a "religion" a few years ago...I wouldn't put too much faith in their abilities to think clearly anymore.

  • @TheHigherVoltage - can you post details of this decision please.

There are variuos court cases that you could be refering to.Obviously he rulings of higher courts are more impotant as is the actual details of the ruling.

I suspect you have in mind one of the cases where the court stated that atheists are entitled to the same level of protection under the law as theists. Post a link to a report of the proceedings (not just someone elses opinion on it) so we can see what was said.

  • @croxleylad The earliest case I found was Torcaso v. Watkins (1961) - when the courts declared secular humanism a religion.

(I read the transcripts years ago in school. I don't know if they can be found on the web.)

More recently (2003 or 4) Atheism was directly mentioned as "a religion" in a federal court case involving inmates. You'd have to find the transcripts yourself, I've had no interest in reading up much on that case.

  • @TheHigherVoltage - thanks

Torcaso v. Watkins, 367 US 488 - Supreme Court 1961 reaffirmed that a state cannot use religion or belief in a god as a qualification for holding public office.

Don't think any competent court has tried to claim atheism is a religion simply that you cannot discriminate against people who don't have a belief in god and that people without a belief are entitled to the same protections as theists.

  • @croxleylad well, you'd think not...but then again :

In the United States, Atheism is considered equivalent to religion under the First Amendment's Free Exercise Clause. In August 2005 the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit affirmed previous Supreme Court precedent by ruling Atheism was equivalent to a religion for 1st amendment purposes.

(it was 2005, not 3 or 4...my bad)

Theists like to pretend this means Atheism is classified AS religion, instead of EQUIVALENT to.

  • Waltke was sacked (forced resignation) by Reformed Theological Seminary yesterday (April 9, 2010). He was canned for saying evangelical Christianity would get sidelined if it continued to reject evolution.

  • @StormTrek

I wish I could be surprised at that, but I'm not. The anti-science movement among evangelicals is pretty strong, and seems to be growing increasingly desperate.

Now they just need to hunt down and punish all the other evangelical theologians who agree with him. It's sounding like the evangelicals are having their own version of the Spanish Inquisition. Thumbscrews, anyone?

  • @papafox It happens. I attend "evangelical" churches. And biological evolution is a whipping boy at many a sermon from pastors I like and respect. I'm sad that some of my favorite pastors will hang their hat on the evil of evolution because they see creationism as unequivocal proof of the existence of God in a secularized nation. But by doing so they unwittingly and unnecessarily give their opponent - the atheist worldview - a freebie. Hence, RTS is only hurting their students.

  • @StormTrek

That saddens me to know that many good, well-meaning people have basically been sold a bill of goods. I think most young-earth creationists (as opposed to the authors) just don't know any better. :-(

  • This is what I have been saying for a very long time. I know it sucks for moderate Christians to speak up because of getting hammered from both sides, but truly you guys are the ones that can make the difference in the direction this country goes...you are the majority right? BTW I love your videos PapaFox...you are a great tuber! I hope you get tons and tons of subs!!!

  • @mameliwo

Thanks! Yeah, I wish more moderates would speak up.

  • Great video!

  • This is great! Thanks for your effort.

  • Thanks. Looking at your background, I take that as high praise. :-)

  • Great vid pf

  • Thanks!

  • This was a great video papafox. Thank you so much for sending this to me. When I was in school, K-12 specificially, as you may know, I went to catholic schools. Lucky for me, I did get a proper science education and did stumble across this creationism or "intelligent design" until I was much older. Science was one of my favorite subjects in school at it really pisses me off to see these fundies piss all over science in the name of their religion. How can anyone be that stupid to believe in that?

  • Thanks Juno. Our backgrounds are similar in that respect -- I went to Catholic elementary schools, and didn't even hear of creationism 'til I was an adult.

  • @papafox I went to Catholic elementary school, high school and college, and I never imagined that anyone could actually BELIEVE in Creationism until I started to watch Youtube LAST YEAR!

  • 'Theistic Evolution' is an oxymoron. You cannot reconcile the two in any context whatsoever. The mechanisms behind Evolution are driven by natural, physical laws that are not directly by anyone, hence Natural Selection. The DNA molecule is not god-directed or conscious of what it is doing, it is simply chemistry and chemical bonding laws. The making of proteins, directed by DNA and RNA, are chemicals doing their thing. I can use the anology of 'Theistic Earthquakes' or 'Theistic Disasters'.

  • @saxmanchiro

"'Theistic Evolution' is an oxymoron. You cannot reconcile the two in any context whatsoever."

You'd make just as much sense if you said that the sky isn't blue. Sorry, but the fact remains that most Christians *do* reconcile their faith with evolution whether you like it or not. Most Christians don't fit the fundy stereotype.

    (cont)

  • (cont)

Saying that "you can't have both science and religion" is the same propaganda that fundies use to try to scare their flock into rejecting science.

If you want to weaken the anti-science BS in this country, you won't do it by

    reinforcing their fears.

  • papafox

I am simply pointing out that the two words contradict each other, hence me using the term oxymoron.

A follower of Christ and his teachings is a Christian, right? If not, please correct me. Also, if that person follows their holy book and considers it metaphoric(your words) then what are they using to support the stance of believing in a supernatural being that supposedly was born of a virgin, performed multiple miracles(only documented in said bible), died and rose from the dead??

  • Saxmanchiro

Actually metaphoric was your word, from Vogter's thread.

And as I said to the same statement there, I think that's an oversimplification. Parts are metaphor, parts are philosophy, parts are history, and parts are post-hoc propaganda. Again, most don't read it as the literal word of God, but as a hodgepodge of many things written by different people at different times and crammed into one cover.

  • 5 stars for weird harold

  • LOL thanks. :-)

  • I'm so glad I subbed to you. I don't normally make Christian themed videos, but I'm glad someone like you is.

  • Thanks Abby. Creationism just p*sses me off. I don't care what anyone's religion is, but under the philosophy of "The right to extend your fist stops where my nose begins," I really get irate when fundamentalists try to force their beliefs into public schools.

  • Assuming evolution occurs, god either controls which individuals reproduce, or he doesn't. If he does, it's not really "natural selection", it's directed with a goal in mind. If he doesn't, you're treading dangerously close to Deism, god created the life and left it to evolve on its own.

Is there a third option? A way to reconcile god's "intent" with natural selection? If not I think you're believing in two contradictory things. Harmless enough, but that's not what "compatible" means.

  • Comment removed

  • This is a great video on this subject from the religious perspective.

  • Nice video. Many Christians do indeed accept evolution and stand up against the nonsense peddled by those who deny it.

  • A good video. I am a christian and an evolutionnary creationist.

  • @lapkine77

Have you read The Bible? You cant call yourself for christian if you think that the mankind evolved from apes?

There is no single proof that humans evolved from apes. You eiher believe in God or not. Right now you being deceived by satan if you think that humans evolved from apes. It goes against God words.

You better make a choice my friend.

  • @MrFabregas1987 Yes I have read the Scriptures. And, do you have faith ? You can't say you do if you feel that truth is challenged by reality, no offense. And no a False Dichotomy is in no way a valid way to present choices.

We didn't "evolve" from apes, in fact we are still primates. I urge you to look at the peer-reviewed literature and things like human chromosome 2, pseudogenes, ERVs and so on.

  • @lapkine77 Sorry i dont think i am from a ape. because its goes against Word of God. If evolution is right then give me a single proof of fossils of a animal turning into another animal? Where is that proof lol?

If we evolved from apes then why are they still apes left? If we evolved from the evolution then we are animals because we evolved from apes. So its ok for humans to have sex with animals because according evolution we are animals lol. Answer that.

  • @MrFabregas1987 No offense, but, you completely missed my point. Moving on...

The Hominid, Whale, Fish to Tetrapods, Avian and Feline records are extremely complete. I urge you - again - to look at the Peer-reviewed litterature for more details. A one single proof argument is not really adequate when adressing this subject.

Yes we are animals. Animals are by definition mobile multicellular Eukaryotic celled organisms. If you're not an animal, then you can't be human also ;)

    cont

  • cont

The Apes we see today are also as developped as we are, in the sense that they have also been "evolving" in their own side for the same time. There is no direction in Evolution other than survival. I urge you to better understand Evolution

Your Slippery Slope argument is unfounded. Evolution, like many things in science, cant tell whats wrong and what's right because it's not it's job to do that. It's not OK because of ERVs, viability, etc. That's not hard to answer at all LOL ;P

  • @lapkine77

Ok i respect your opinion. But i dont have to think like you.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I respect that.

  • @MrFabregas1987 And I agree. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. Unfortunately for some people in your position, this argument is often invoked in order to consolidate a confusion and misunderstanding of what is mere personal opinion and objective scientific inquirery. That's why I really urge you to research this topic, in the scientific litterature (meaning documents that are subjected to the scientific method. And that includes peer review) :)

  • @MrFabregas1987 My friend humans did not evolve FROM apes, we are apes. How can this be proven? Humans and chimps share many retro viruses in our DNA and many of them IN THE SAME Locations in our Genome. Retro viruses can only be passed on via having offspring. How can two species share similar retro viruses at the same locations in thier DNA? Simple, both species share a common anscestor which passed on the rertro virus to its offspring that later became two species humans and chimps.

  • RE your comments on Loz's video

    "1) I describe myself as a non-denominational Christian."

    A) What specifically makes you a Christian in the first place?

    B) What do you believe about God & Jesus?

"3) If their dogma conflicts with observed physical reality, then it's their dogma that's at fault, not science."

    C) What is your position on miracles?

    D) Can they be explained by science (i.e., virgin birth, Christ raising Lazarus and Himself from the dead, etc)?

    E) What is faith?

  • 1) This is not Loz's video.

    2) Obviously, 40+ years of learning cannot be condensed into a 500-character comment box.

    3) Your questions are not relevant to this video.

  • 1) I am refering to the comments you posted to me on Loz's video: "What is a Genome" (watch?v=mDxojMNTS_A)

    2) If you can't summarize your thoughts about God and Jesus in 500 caharacters, I am going to say you are not a Christian. For example, "The next day John [the Baptist] saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, 'Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!'" (John 1:29). Do you believe this: Yes__ No__

    3) Again, see the comments on Loz's video which refer to this one.

  • LMAO! The No True Scotsman AGAIN? I figured that's where you were heading. Do you people never learn?

    Take you bigotry somewhere else.

  • You say 500 charaters is not enough space. Okay, I'll make it simple:

Do you believe in God? Yes__ No__

Do you believe in Jesus? Yes__ No__

Do you believe in miracles? Yes__ No__

Look, you're the one who claims to be "non-denominational Christian," but don't seem to want to answer any questions about it. "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15).

  • As I said, take your bigotry somewhere else .

    Blocked.

  • im featuring this video, cos im sick of trying to argue with YEC's.

    good job : )

    5 stars

  • Sure, be my guest. And thanks. :-)

Ahh! Sarah Palin as the Joker! DO NOT WANT!

Seriously though, great vid. But Palin as the Joker? Come on. Isn't Palin by herself unsettling enough?

  • When I saw that pic, I just couldn't resist including it. ;-)

  • @papafox Thanks alot...really, I think that image is going to give me nightmares!!

  • Doesn't help that most of our kids are dropping out to take care of unwanted babies and Chlamydia -- thanks to our great faith-based sex ed programs.

  • bcfire12

well.. electricity was invented long after the bible was written. besides i would think that the oriigin of life is worth mentioning, or at least not lying about.

why would any god go through such a painstaking process when he could just spontaniously create life?

  • No, man... electricity was not "invented". Ben Franklin discovered some of its properties in his famed kite experiment, Edison and Westinghouse both went to great lengths further refining our still-new knowledge of it at the time. All we did was find out it was there, then learn how to use it.

  • @Alisterwolf66

Electricity as a domestic energy source was invented.

That is what I was getting at.

  • Ah.

I still disagree, even on that definition, but risking a huge debate over semantics is hardly worth it - your point still stands.

  • According to Miss Teeny what's her face, US Americans can't find NY state because they don't have maps.

    BTW nice vid.

  • The only problem is the following.

Why would evolution not be included in the bible if it happened?

    Sounds like something worth mentioning.

I personally think that the fact of evolution negates christianity. I mean why would any creater go to the trouble?

I think that christians who accept evolution are just "clutching at straws" so to speak.

  • @automaticSOM

Why didn't the bible mention electricity? Why didn't it mention bacterial infections? Why didn't it mention gravity or a spherical earth or any other planet? There are plenty of things not mentioned in the bible. Think and use the critical thinking abilities that your god gave you.

  • "I think that christians who accept evolution are just "clutching at straws" so to speak. "

110% correct ...Those "christians" dont have any faith at all.

  • @sjl245

Which to me is not a problem. I do not value faith really, its overrated, I prefer evidence.

I hope it didnt sound like I was advocating creationism in that comment. I think creationism is one of the most stupid concepts ever.

The point I was getting at, was that you do not need god to explain evolution, natural selection will suffice.

  • I am a christian and I would speak out against creationists. By the time I get there you guys athesits have picked the bones dry, If you could reccomemend me some yt creationists, that would be great I am going to do a video on the subject in real detail

  • bossman103

    Where to start?

    GEERUP, venomfangx, atheistantidote.

Those are all creationists. Sitting ducks waiting to be put out of their misery

  • Did a video on vfx and one on geerup and two on atheistantidote

  • While we have dissenting beliefs (rather, I lack yours), I definitely respect the headaches that must have caused for you. Well done!

Try nephilimfree sometime, for a true migraine...

  • Disagreement is healthy and nephlim isnt a pain he is just a annoyance anyway little ttrucking bzo did videos on him

  • Agreed - disagreement is part of what motivated us to discover what's really going on (so to speak)!

Nephy is definitely a pain to anyone who studies the natural sciences - I'm currently two years into a MS (majoring in climatology). Holy s***, does that man make MY head hurt! Plate tectonics, the hydrologic cycle, thermodynamics... all of this escapes this man. Worse still, is the condescending tone he delivers his non-science with.

But I digress; it's only a pain to those who make it so.

  • I know a couple more, less well known creationists as well? Equally stupid though.

    Try. Jesusisthetruevine or Eye2Eye.

2 of the most annoying individuals ever.

Only problem is that they are big on censoring so dont expect your responses to be accepted.

  • Very true. After one or two comments showing them their error, several creationists have blocked me from their channels (spineless little cowards). So sometimes making you own videos is the best response, especially if you post links to further information.

  • Great, thoughtful video Papafox - thank you for sending me the link.

You make splendid points, which I have to agree with :D

  • Excellent!
