FYI, when timeline was in beta mode, you could follow all the steps OP showed here and reverse your FB account to the old style. But now this doesn't apply anymore since you don't have access to the app you've created when enabling timeline.

@daarrroo False. This was a developer app. When you develope software facebook lets you 'beta' test their products. Fortunately for this guy he was able to delete the app a few days ago... Now facebook forces you to use timeline and does not give you the option to disable this...
