Samsung lost a lawsuit against SHARP on LCD in the US. Already Samsung's TVs were banned to sell in Japan. LED TV is just LCD TV that uses LED as a backlight.
So I wonder how they make "LED TV" without infringing the patents of SHARP.
Samsung's high spec LCD is being banned in the US. They also lost a lawsuit against SHARP in Holland. But they can't make alternative products becuase SHARP has core patents of LCD. Whereas SHARP doesn't care Samsung worthless patent. A primary concern for Japanese is when Samsung bankrupt. Samsung
is filed a lot of lawsuit by many companies of Japan, America and Taiwan. Samsung will lose most of those lawsuits. Time will tell what will happen.

LG showed an unnamed large scale TV with just 6.9mm. It will likely hit stores in the second half of the year. But does it really matter anymore? Ultra thin is cool, but it's enough now.
From the LED TV's seen, the korean LG LE9500 (full LED backlight with LD) and the Samsung C9000 impress the most.
Sony sure has a great tuner for us here in europe (DVBS2) but I am doubtful with the design. Korean TV's seem to be the best and most beautiful bang for buck deals for 2010.
