The Bread and Beer Band was not his first recording. Rather, it was set to be released in 1969 and that dates long after his Bluesology singles with Fontana (1965-66) Records and his DJM releases of Lady Samantha, recorded in early 1968, both released well before the Bread and Beer Band album was to be. Aside from a Decca single (Dick Barton Theme) nothing else was ever heard of the album, and nothing exists of it save for a few test pressings and cover samples, bootlegs notwithstanding.

The Dick Barton Theme was not from the B&BB album, was it? And I heard that only one copy was ever pressed. But it is available on mp3 I'm sure.

You know what, you're right! I assumed since it was from the Bread and Beer band that it was on that self-titled album. However a bit of quick research shows me that The Dick Barton Theme was only released as a single by them in Feb. 1969. I do have a copy of The Dick Barton Theme lying about on an mp3 somewhere though. I wonder what the B-Side was? I'd love to hear the album! I appreciate the correction, nice to see someone else is as a stickler for historical accuracy as I.
