Good point. That's why we have a representative democracy! If you don't like what's going on, vote them out! There is simply not enough time to inform the public on every land-use change. The public will likely let emotions and bumper sticker politics guide their decisions more than the facts.

Good for Florida! Get the government planners OUT of the community. In Oregon, the voters vote to protect property rights. The State legislators hold it up in court then new legislation is written to override it. We need some hometown respect for the will of the people here too. But, that is not anything I want decided further up the chain! Keep it local, centralized questions get centralized mandates.
