  • The 1 dislike...Hmmm? One guess who it is...Clint McCance comes to mind..lol

  • IM A ROMAN CATHOLIC LESBIAN... and to be brutally honest ive abandoned religion for other reasons than being gay... the bible is the most controversial book ever written. i dont believe this stupid book should be the reason for rules of mankind... it contradicts itself! why follow something to a T. you would not follow someone who contradicts themselves... be youre own person and follow what you believe. no matter what it is. u wanna hate gays hate em! u wanna love gays love em. its your choice!

  • People can be gay and Christian. Like everything, religion will change as well. You can't stop change, nothing can. Hence why there are soo many different breakaway sections of religions. It's nice to have Christian who stick up for gay people, so any narrow minded people need to get with the times. I bet you, If you gave them the chance, they would go and hunt down witches.

  • I live in Arkansas, and im gay, this is just great.

  • Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.

  • It satisfies me when rednecks(and not the good kind) like Clint McCance improperly make moonshine and drink it and go blind

  • Shakespeare said it this way: "Even the devil can cite Scripture for his purpose."

  • Over the centuries people who misunderstood or misinterpreted the Bible have done terrible things. The Bible has been misused to defend bloody crusades and tragic inquisitions; to support slavery, apartheid, and segregation; to persecute Jews and other non-Christian people of faith; to support Hitler's Third Reich and the Holocaust; to oppose medical science; to condemn interracial marriage; to execute women as witches; and to support the Ku Klux Klan.

  • I was a gay teen who grew up in a town with the same mentality "gays should kill themselves" it was said at a town hall style meeting discussing the issues affecting teens in that town. When the stat the GLBT teens were 4-6% more likely to commit suicide one of the parents in the audience stood at one of the mics and said "Well if they are gay they should kill themselves" his comments were met with applause. I got out, I survived, and It gets better!

  • Not all Christians are hateful. I promise you. Just like the Quran, the Bible is misinterpreted by zealots.

Ellen is such an amazing, good soul. Thank God we have her as a voice of reason on the airwaves!

  • @Avasings

    Slight problem though.

The section used to justify homophobic behavior towards the gay community is the section called the levitical law. (AKA the book of leviticus.) This section was dedicated to indicating what proper Jewish and by proxy, Christian behavior is supposed to be. This isn't anything you can say out of context about, it was intended by the authors as a rulebook. Christians may not all be hateful, but their book is.

  • I finally figured out how some people can think homosexuality is a choice.

It's because they MADE the choice to be gay or straight for themselves and think that EVERYONE does.

It's so clear when you think about it.

  • @ciaochowbella being gay isn't a choice, it's what your hormones tell you to do.

  • @kbd668 Indeed, but for some people, and this is fact, they have hormones from both factions. Like bisexuals.....they chose not to choose.

I sincerely think these assholes who see homosexuality as a choice have MADE their choice....and they're bitter about it.

There was a Univ. of Georgia study a few years ago that noted that the more homophobic a man was, the more he was turned on by gay porn. Look, it up. It's fascinating.

  • The problem doesn't end with bullying, it's only a start. Arkansas is probably one of the worst states with a red-neck mentality that will continually allow it to be acceptable. It's everywhere, especially in the court system. An Arkansas judge ordered that I must be "married" (knowing I'm gay) if my kids stay the night in my house with my boyfriend of 3 years. Thank God I've raised my children to understand homosexuality and stand up to bullies & take up for others!

  • The problem is judging people based on any one facet of who they are, whether it's orientation, religion, appearance, or otherwise.

Blaming each-other won't solve this problem. We all need to come together and stand up for our fellow Americans. E pluribus unum, y'know?

  • What message does it send? It sends the exact same message that can be found in the Bible. It perpetuates the exact same bigoted prejudice, unfathomable ignorance, that countless fundamentalist zealots were brainwashed into believing before him.

  • do you show the same anger towards muslims who use islam in acts of terror? because muslim extremists have shown a lot more hatred and death to people around the world than some ignorant people who happen to use Christianity to hate people. it seems like you're trying to speak out against hatred by speaking hate towards another group of people..let me guess..you have stood up against those who may question islam because of the acts of a few, but here you label all Christians brainwashed

  • @kepr1 You always bring muslims into everything and compare them with christians, come on man, christians are fucking retarded just as those muslim extremists, they believe everything associated with religion, if a christian was made to believe that they had to bomb buildings, they would do that like the muslim extremists do.

  • @kbd668 Christianity is no better than Islam is no better than Christianity. They are merely two prongs of the same desert dogma.

  • @ciaochowbella Oh theyre all crap lol

  • @Shelbzism, Most christains use the Bible as a pedastal to spew hate from, truth is, most don't know what the bible has to say, or doesn't say for that matter. CHRISTAINS: find me some verses refuting my statements

+Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.

+The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.

+Only six or seven of the Bible's one million verses refer to same-sex behavior in any way -- and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it's understood today.

  • @DarkestMarker that's a very good argument and I agree with it. but could you explain how the bible's verses don't refer to homosexuality as its understood today? its a very good point, i just need a little clarification please.

  • @Jynx215 there is some interesting reading about the original Greek text of the new testament (where Paul supposedly condemns homosexuality) and its inability to be clearly translated and the process from which over thousands of years these phrase keep changing per bible version and translation. I will post some links for you

  • @Shelbzism I totally agree with what you are saying however there is only like one smalll passage in the bible that condemns gay relationships and even that is in the old testament so who can believe that xD The point is all religions fundamentaly teach an idea of peace and love it's a humanas predoratory nature that uses it to condemn people

  • @Shelbzism the bible has been translated hundreds of times and each time secular messages are branded in with the original text. it isn't the bible's message, it is the bigots message and they are falsely using the bible as their reason why.

  • This also shows why anti-gay bullying is different than just regular bullying. Often teachers, principals and even school board members will join in the anti-gay bullying.

  • Cooper FTW

  • i am straight , but i cant understand , it s very clear , you re born gay and that is it , do you think someone would choose death then been alive and straight... for you take your own life cause you feel trapped its cause you dont have any choice.. so just accept it . even if doesnt suit your taste.

  • homophobia is a normal part of USA culture - look at Prop 8, DADT, homophobic hate is driven by Christian Evangelism, The Republican Party, Rap Music, & as for youth culture - well mainstream youth is conservative/uptight/controlled/bland -

if nothing else this guy puts a face on homophobia -

& if lgbt people didnt exist - then he would be wearing a white sheet with a pillowcase hood -

  • @anthonynewsome WELL PUT!
