I am interested in how/cost of the containers to be sealed to prevent rust as another vid talk about the steel only being guaranteed for 3 to 5 years.
There are many shipping container designs around the world now. This is good for recycling unused containers. Keep up the good work. We at Canada have our own way of looking at things about these container housing. For more information check our video channel to see some innovations happening right now.

being in a she can in the summertime is like being in an oven. And in the winter its no warmer inside than it is outside. Someone please msg me and explain...
Okay, it's great you show all these cool pictures. Start posting overall cost to make one look like what you are showing in the video. The amount of glass that some of what you show here would cost an arm and a leg, if you buy the "energy efficient" kind. So, there are probably more cons than pros to having something like this.
@kwldr123 The boxes are under 5 grand a piece, and that's for the big ones. Even if the glass costs an arm, a leg, and the other hand, you still save tons of money.
@GrayHatLinux no, unless you put it all together yourself you're looking at general contracting people to come out and put the containers together and install all the windows, plumbing, electricity, all the hard wood flooring, furniture, carpeting, appliances, concrete, lighting, etc etc.. shipping container homes were originally meant to be a cheap and sturdy off the grid alternative to modern living some of the homes in this video could easily run you upwards of 60-70k
Whit shipping container you will have to pay tax as normal house. Seach for "Cube affordable housing" here. Great ideas realy low prices on tiny tax free houses.
Looks like this is the wealthy's new fad ... just wonder how long this resource will last ... we only have so many available and they should be reserved for low income people or ones with disabilities preventing them from being employed.
@SaskatoonFuckinRules They're actually really cheap in comparison to other building materials, but yeah the resource for the actual materials used might run out. Unless we started recycling cars to make them.
@ushillbillies There are videos of one built there- I will post if I can find it again. Insulating the exterior walls and ceiling/roof level is the key- only need 7 inches of closed cell spray foam on roof to exceed R38. Think of the containers as building blocks / modular components.
@ushillbillies There was one guy that would bury them to make a subterranean home because of the temperature issues, but then that becomes a problem of being snowed under massive amounts of snow.
@SecularMentat I guess you could make it earth bermed. Snow isn't going to harm it. You could build a "false roof" a slanted roof top so the snow can slide off. I personally plan on a roof deck, but these houses, as any house - has to be fully insulated. Any house would be a hot box without insulation and windows. These won't be as easily knocked over in a storm, as houses are.
There are offices, homes, condos, apartments, etc. all over the world made with containers. It's not as common in certain parts of the world but they're out there.

How much those these container homes cost? Hope their not too expensive as other concrete and wood houses! Then it won't be worth buying.
