I loved it. But I couldn't help being disappointed that there was no Anthony Perkins. You showed the lesser Bates (Vaughn), but not Perkins? Besides that, it was fantastic! 5/5 :)
The stuff I didn't include in the video took ages to make but ultimately looked terrible (I was trying to be too clever.) Glad you liked it. Thankyou.
Let me get this straight, this is a split between the original Psycho from 1960 and 1998, dubbed over with music from the original Psycho, dubbed over with a techno remix of the radio that played in The Night of the Living Dead... OKAY...
this a mind-blowing and brillant! the mix alone is off-the-hook, add in the incredible editing and this is a masterpiece! loved the light swinging sequence and the voyeur scene with the opposing eyes...WOW!!!
yeah the modern effects could have been left out, but this was meant to be used as club visuals so...whatcha ya gonna do?I'm planning a full movie remix of these two films with the original soundtracks.Although that might take some time. Also you've got me thinking about cutting up 'Irreversible', if i can stomach it.
The point is, I didn't agree at most of the modern effects you put here and then but the whole editing is so darn good that you see, you've given a "new" reading over Psycho. And some people still say that montage doesn't hold the power to change it all. You didn't only proved they wrong but have done it masterfully, really.
It's a funny thing, you see. Ended up being on a similar "narrative" that's seen on Gaspar Noe's Irréversible. I mean, I've seen both versions of Psycho a thousand times and setting the very beggining at the end, once again but changing the versions, gave that very same feeling of "Le temps détruit tout", Time Destroys Everything, and just like that, Psycho felt much more like a really sad, nearly a behavioristic story.

You're right, I never really thought of that... a little Vince just seemed to have slipped in. It's all about Marion Crane though.
