I work at best buy and though my store doesn't carry the d300s, there is not camera with the lens off like this. I would personally not allow it haha. Whoever said that it's ok to do this is a complete retard and probably doesn't know anything about dslrs. this pissed me off a bit lol

and fudashi, it really depends which best buy you are getting the open box item at. i have never seen an open box go on the shelves without it being checked for functionality.
