  • It's not only Goldman Sachs , it's all over all banks all over the planet:

Only one thing in mind: MONEY.

Your money. By all means. ALL MEANS.

Time to hang them one by one.

  • Ry I like very much this and your farmer is the man versions. I think your studio tech put too much voice in this and in the farmer is the man versions. The instruments are so good, but the voice dominates too much.

Please if you can see a clear way to do it, re-mix those sessions with a different balance.

    Thank you Ry.

  • Difference between Ry and Woodie Guthrie, is That Ry Cooder isn't a communist recruiter.

  • What a crappy song from a great artist...

  • If I was writing a song about Bankers, I'd be very tempted to put a Rhyme in there that would sum up how most people view them these days !!!

  • Right on Ry!!!!!

The problem with the f**kin bankers getting away with it is WE LET THEM...

  • Ry's in fine, classic form here. Lord bless us to have the likes of him among us.

  • I bought the CD on the basis of this song along. The rest blew me and my wife away. Typical Ry. I first discovered him with Paradise and Lunch and have been a great fan ever since. Classic and timely as Woody Guthrie was during the Depression.

  • woody would be proud

  • Love it! So true!

  • M.O OF A BANK:

    1. EXTORT PEOPLE RUTHLESSLY FOR FUNDS IN ANY WAY LEGALLY POSSIBLE.

    2. PLAY RUSSIAN ROULETTE ALL NIGHT WITH NEWLY EXTORTED FUNDS! (& LOSE).

    3. RE-EXTORT TAXPAYING PUBLIC AGAIN, THIS TIME FOR BAILOUT.

    4. CONTINUE TO AWARD YOURSELF MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BONUSES DURING ALL STEPS 1-3 (& BEYOND).

    5. RIDE AWAY INTO THE NIGHT LAUGHING AS THE WORLD ECONOMY CRUMBLES.

  • LOVE IT!!!!!

  • gettin this its awesome

  • Whip all the money lenders out of all nations, put them in a rocket and shoot them straight to the sun.

  • Once again, Ry Cooder sees through the garbage and tells it like it is! Thank you, RC.

  • Perfect for Occupy!

  • Superb, topical, nicely judged. This sort of protest music can end up sounding rather pious but Ry Cooder hits the right spot. Great musicianship as ever. I love playing slide guitar myself and was inspired by Ry Cooder to learn. Still a novice, but have created my own very English response to the banking crisis. Go to carsickphil and click on God, Rest You Merry Bankers. Was meant for just friends and family for Xmas, but people have already found it on my channel.

  • Just great, ace! Always loved Mr Cooder, always gets it right.

  • gotta get this album

  • Yeah , this album has serious replay value. Since it dropped I have played it more times then I can count!! Every so often I'll play some other album then this goes right back on.

  • Ry Cooder's albums lately seem at the same time so disconnected and relevant to the modern world. really clever and radical actually. I don't think I've ever enjoyed an album so much for a long time - his voice is the best I've heard it and I'm so happy that he has hit an all time high here.

  • HOW CAN WE MAKE THIS THE OCCUPY WALL STREET ANTHEM??????

  • @TeenCretin Easy just crowd your way on top of it without asking and then defecate and urinate all over it while uttering nonsense. Lay down with the flea party and even the dogs will get up and leave.

  • @TeenCretin keep on going and maybe it wil be !

  • This is the best thing I've heard since Levon Helm's "Poor Old Dirt Farmer". Hell yes, play this on Wall Street!

  • Thoughtful and independently done so we all know it's sincere- not a planned, funded trick from the parties or pundits for election purpose. The pundits should be more careful about who's side they defend and appear to be on, the people's or the banker's.

  • Tell me, how can a poor man stand such times and live?

  • Are these the songs of the Occupation?

  • This is a truly great album. Try, 'Is there a God' and the amazing 'John Lee Hooker for President' Right up there with Borderline from way back when.

  • Gotta love the Cooder of Ry. They should be playin' this at the Wall street occupation.

  • awesome as usual , from ry

  • No Banker.... IF ONLY! Can't think of a simile for em.

I thought they were greedy, ruthless and clever.... but they are really greedy, ruthless and ST O O O O O O PID!

  • So true!

  • How good is Ry? What a legend!

  • this song is magnificent - and so is the the album
