  • I'm pretty sure it's 1985, as this was the graphic and jingle they used when the Polans started the channel. I lived there then and the Unisource building isn't visible in the skyline. It was built in 1986. Also, the guy that announces the sign off was local TV presonality Alan Michaels. He hosted Saturday night horror movies for KTTU (also out of Tucson) in the mid-1990s. He was fired during one broadcast for accidentally saying the F word on the air. Trivia is fun!

  • @messengerwj Fuck, that's harsh...

  • @HEMPHILL23 Yeah, I know! Sorry to go on about history. I just figured you'd want to hear the story from a guy who lived in Tucson at the time. That channel was pretty decent. Saturday nights were great! They had Tales From The Darkside, Night Gallery, and Elvira!

  • Ah, the good old days of independent TV stations...

  • @marklungo I miss them so much!

  • I miss elevator music. :)

  • We've only just begun

  • This was a rather unusual sign-off since it didn't have the national anthem playing.

  • @TimelordR : You are right. That is a bit out of the ordinary. But since they show Old Tucson Studios in the middle, I think that makes up for it... maybe?

  • I am sure this is made in 1987....

  • My resources tell me this is 1987...

  • Well I'll be gall-deeeeeeeern!

  • Was this recorded in the mid-1980s? It was during that time that Baltimore's WNUV-TV 54 was using the same "Watch What We're Doing Now" jingle package.
