Am I wrong about the Han Chinese. I seem to remember reading somewhere that many Chinese were "designated" Han. Not really Han, but convenient to make them Han. Is it true to be a "real" Chinese, to be able to truly understand the history of China, one must speak Mandarin? Is it true that Mandarin Chinese look down upon the lowly Cantonese only speakers?

There are 10% tibetans are Lamas, and they do not need to work and can get the free food from temples. Acturally, they have nothing to do everyday. Finally, they decide do something no matter it is good or not.
How about the French protesters? Do you also get the food from temples? Do you know anything about tibet except what they heared from Lamas.

In old Tibet before 1950, 88 percent of Tibeten people were born as slaves. Slaves didn't belong to themselves, they belong to their slave masters who occupied 5% of Tibeten population at that time. Slaves could be sold,bought,abused at the will of their masters!
I admire Lincoln,the greatest former US president because he abolished the slave system in Southern America. Lincoln is always the hero in my heart.

Tibetans were slaves before PRC freed them in 1950s and dalai lama were the owner of the slaves. PRC changed the lives of the tibetans for the better. It's the same as the US civil war. Tibet was, is and will be a part of china!

I don't think so. It's a global embarrassment of those western losers showing they have no change even the WWII has ended for over half a century. They are simply scrappy, hate those thing they don't like, and easy to fight. I support the boycott, if you really don't like. Actually, who cares you. Realistically, what can one expect from a people that only 40 years ago murdered tens of millions of their own citizen simply because they were educated and not happy working in some commune as a slave.
Sorry chinese people, but the west will not trust you for until you have shown at least a century of good behaviour. However, events such as Tianamen, Falun Gong persecution, and organ harvesting from political prisoners, are not conducive to instilling that trust.

How evil chinese are cannot judge how innocent the dalai lama is. I am happy you know the fact that those lamas, are actually slave owners not 40, but over 50 years ago. I support that China should be more civilized, more democratic, but, what happens today in paris, has no relation to these two words.

A lot of people are turning this into a national contest. This is about ordinary people against oppressive governments. Hopefully a Buenos Aires protest will prove that.
The torch run is not funded by the IOC, it is funded by the Chinese government - their attempt to buy legitimacy. It is totally political.

this is just ridiculous, it's olympic games. of course it's a shame on china but also on who ever is doing it or intend to commmit such action. come on, olympic games maybe is a perfect platform for protests however it's not a political event, it's just not wise to do so. think you can actually do anything by snatching the torch? no... likely it'll just piss the communists more.

I totally agree with you Andrea. We are not against Chinese people but a communist regime in china. Millions have died under their rules including the Chinese people, and I think it's time for the Chinese people to open their eyes and elect their own government. Government shouldn't tell their people how to live? what to hear? what is right? Government is for the people and by the people. Stop torturing our people, and let us live peaceful in our own country.
