@BigJake9989 you are obviously not an actual led zeppelin fan, so you do not have the right to say "zeppelin" you must say the full band name if you are unaware of the connection to middle earth
@jhoch5 Just because I'm not aware of the connection between this and the hobbit does not make me a proper fan. A real Zeppelin fan wouldn't be so childish and make a stupid comment like that. Good day to you sir.
@BigJake9989 Um, people are talking about The Hobbit on a Zeppelin video because the Misty Mountains are a place in Middle Earth, and a TON of Zeppelin songs have Tolkien references.
The Misty Mountains are in Wales. They are referred to in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Return Of The King. Plant is a big fan of Tolkien and used references to the Lord Of The Rings series from time to time.
Bonzo rocked a godamm drum set infinitely better than anyone ever has, or ever will. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, if you disagree? The only thing that means is... YOU SUCK!!!
This song is really a great classic. Let us all take a moment of silence for the black blues musicians this band robbed along the way, just as the indigenous peoples of the Americas were.
@Cincinnatus1869 The Misty Mountains were mountains in the book The Hobbit. Led Zeppelin was influenced by Tolkiens books and several songs including The Battle of Evermore and Ramble On contain lyrics and titles directing towards The Hobbit and his other books including Lord of the Rings.
@Krakkhaus it's not . It's just that all the LOTR fanatics like to pretend thT all Zeppelins song are about that book . Which part of the Hobbit involves smoking hash in the park and getting busted ? I think the lotr ffreaks are reaching a bit on this one
love me some Led robert's voice is so unique and never sounds bad and jimmy p guitar and sense of style always wearing something cool feel good music thats for sure
I am overcome with awe... every time i listen to the greatest rock band ever.... what an incredible stroke of fortune that i came to know that such a band existed without knowing any thing about them at all !!! may be it was their cool name.... but i am still trying to figure out when i first came to know them... any how, searching for led zeppelin songs on youtube is my single greatest search on the internets !
Thanks RakyMaky for the excellent sound quality -Led Zeppelin deserves nothing less
the truth of the matter is, hendrix was an incredible guitar player. he did things with that instrument that people had never seen or heard before. whether he was better than zeppelin or not is a matter of opinion and not really anything that can be taught per say.
Okay, I'm not kidding. Can people go on ONE youtube video without having Justin Bieber or some other dipshit mentioned? Is that possible for humanity? Honestly, I'm getting tired, as are a ton of others I'm sure, of hearing their names. We get it, they will never be as good as the people we listen to, but no need to mention them on every good song like this out there. Stop. Just stop.
hey guys think about this, iff Justin Bierber Jennifer Lopez and other modern music interperts where "the hit" in 1970 and Led Zeppelin were "the hit" today. Dont you think that we would probably be hating on Led Zeppelin and listening to Bieber and Lopez? think about it. Naaah probably not. Led Zep forever mates
One of the coolest riffs of all time. I'm a HUGE fan of Led Zeppelin but personally I think the vocal tone could have been written differently, as is, the vocals make the song kind of akward...
an interesting historical fact about zeppelin..they were at their peak during the hippy , anti-war era..but they really never made any political statements in their music.... they were above and beyond that..maybe that's why the communist media hated them... yes, robert plant was a hippie type..but their music never was political..ever... i love zep for that.

@DethMunkee1990 neil pert of rush is good, mitch mitchell from the hendrix band is good as well there not john bonham but that is no shame not being better then the best ever
@psu68born Neil Peart is boring. Mitch Mitchell was great, yeah, but others like Jaki Leibezeit and Reni are just as good as Bonham. I'd say Reni's better, actually, hard hitting but with a real groove and swing. A great singing voice too, always doing backing vocals. "Daybreak" shows his chops well.
Bonzo, for sure, though will never be pushed out of the Top 5 drummers ever.
@bongloadz4satan bonzo and keith are and always will be better. his new solos are boring and frankly quite shitty. i used to be a big fan of his but through the years hes gotten worse
@TehSxeNerd Regardless, I still hold Neil Peart as one of my favorite drummers. Most of the time i can't really say who's the better musician, but you have to admit that neil peart is one hell of a drummer.
@bongloadz4satan I'm not a Rush fanatic, but I know - and mostly really like - their classic era stuff. My impression is that he wasn't really recorded well enough to do him justice. What he was playing was really impressive, but the production didn't do him credit. Just my opinion though. For that matter, Jimmy was an awesome producer for Zeppelin, but his focus was always on the song (as it should be). Sometimes you didn't get a feel for how awesome Bonham was, either
@bongloadz4satan Look Neil has speed yes, but NO drummer on earth had the ability to drum several different beats at once, John Bonhams arms and legs where like they were attached to different body parts. Yes Neil is the fastest, but Bonham also drums a different style, thats one of the reasons after John died Led Zeppelin didnt carry on, they all said Zepp wouldnt be the same without John and no DRUMMER could replace him. That says alot about them. just to clear up the argument
@TheDjBlitzification Neil was never about speed. I guess he could drum fast when he wanted to, but show me where does he ever go for speed in songs? Neil is at his best when doing complicated polyrhythms , like in YYZ, La Villa Strangiato, and subdivisions.
@MrThreshold2009 Jesus! what is your obsession with reni? every video I go on your banging on about him. I love the stone roses (going to see them in Heaton Park next summer, cannot fucking wait) and i love reni, great unique drummer who is criminally underrated, but why bang on about him in keith moon, led zep videos, etc?! he's not in Moon, Bonham, Mitchell, Baker or Peart's league, get over it
@bigdaveupload1980 Calm yourself, dear. You don't know much about drumming, that's obvious. My obesssion with Reni is that he's the most naturally gifted drummer I've ever come across - a total genius. You've certainly managed to totally overreact to it all. Towing the usual Bonham line is pretty tedious as well.
@MrThreshold2009 don't know much about drumming? you based that on one youtube comment in which i didnt refer to any drumming technique? ok pal. towing the bonham line? sorry if you feel thats what I did my expressing my opinion that Bonzo was a better drummer than reni, (who drummed one amazing album, and one incredibley average album by the way). Far more innovative and influential, even though i'm more of a moon, portnoy, mithcell, and 'boring' peart fan.
@bigdaveupload1980 Bonham was a fantastic drummer, I have no issues with that, he's one of the best ever. But "far more innovative"? Come off it. He'd get a big heavy groove and stick with it, and that's about all. And Moby Dick could be a hell of a drag. Reni's drumming is actually on a number of albums, and countless bootlegs (spanning dozens of songs you won't have heard). Another drummer, Jaki Liebezeit, is way above any of the drummers you listed.
@MrThreshold2009 Jaki is absoluetly terrific. I thought you were just a stone roses fanboy, but it appears you know your stuff if your mentioning him. Don't wanna argue with you, sorry if it came across like that. Moon will always be my favourite drummer though, the 'Jimi Hendrix of the drumkit', But i do love reni. You going to the renuninon gig?
Ive got the first 20 seconds of this as my ring tone. Amazing how many of the younger fold where I work comment on it when the phone rings. Great great song.
my first Real Good High on Marijuhana , i was listening alone in my room to this Record , from start to beginning , and WOW !! the quality of this record is just AWESOME , its recorded LIVE , the sound is so Perfect , i was thinking Led Zeppelin are Playing in my room
Led Zeppelin are Definetley My Gods of Music !! i LOVE them !
@Conhair25 Hey bro, I'm the last one in the world that wanted it to have to come to this, but sometimes you gotta give the people what they want. However, in this case it's a shitload more fun for me when they don't wan't it ! ! !
YES! Took me forever, but I FOUND IT!!!!! Heard this on the radio, knew it was Zeppelin, but it took me forever to find it. Now I'll listen to it about 300 times.
I'm a sophomore at a high school full of dubstep, pop and rap. and people who say they listen to rock and or metal, not this age. they listen to stuff like Asking Alexandria or whatever... I get ripped on for wearing a KISS shirt or Iron Maiden. I get labeled goth, emo or just stupid. I dress what now-a-days people would classify as goth. When in reality, I dress as a metalhead. Leather Jacket, Dark Blue jeans and sporting a band Tee underneath. Along with my metal militia dog tags. True Story.
@arceus9000 Good for you for being yourself...and don't worry about what anyone says about your musical tastes or the clothes you wear. 20 years from now people will STILL be listening to Zeppelin, Kiss, Iron Maiden, etc...and the "flavor of the day internet bands" that we have to suffer through now a days will be just a distant memory. Most of them won't even qualify for One hit wonder status.
@MrMegaFredzeppelin Well, I used to listen to the "7th Day" with Joe Benson. It was cool that he played 7 complete albums every Sunday. And he always played Led Zeppelin, Stones, Beatles,The Doors, etc.
I live in L.A and I listen to KLOS ..every day at 7 pm the play a few of led zeppelin songs they call it whole lotta led block ,that tells you how amazing this band was ,this week they are playing songs from the IV album ,which is amazing ! :)
@toniquix That's really cool man!!! I used to live in L.A., and one thing I've always liked about KLOS is they always do tributes on great albums like Led Zeppelin IV. Hard to believe yesterday it was 40 years ago that this AMAZING album was released, and it still KICKS ASS after all these years :)

@MrThreshold2009 Neil Peart is not boring. He is one of the best drummers ever.
bongloadz4satan 1 month ago 31
@bongloadz4satan bonzo and keith are and always will be better. his new solos are boring and frankly quite shitty. i used to be a big fan of his but through the years hes gotten worse
TehSxeNerd 1 month ago
@TehSxeNerd Regardless, I still hold Neil Peart as one of my favorite drummers. Most of the time i can't really say who's the better musician, but you have to admit that neil peart is one hell of a drummer.
bongloadz4satan 1 month ago
@bongloadz4satan I'm not a Rush fanatic, but I know - and mostly really like - their classic era stuff. My impression is that he wasn't really recorded well enough to do him justice. What he was playing was really impressive, but the production didn't do him credit. Just my opinion though. For that matter, Jimmy was an awesome producer for Zeppelin, but his focus was always on the song (as it should be). Sometimes you didn't get a feel for how awesome Bonham was, either
mielazul 1 month ago
@bongloadz4satan Look Neil has speed yes, but NO drummer on earth had the ability to drum several different beats at once, John Bonhams arms and legs where like they were attached to different body parts. Yes Neil is the fastest, but Bonham also drums a different style, thats one of the reasons after John died Led Zeppelin didnt carry on, they all said Zepp wouldnt be the same without John and no DRUMMER could replace him. That says alot about them. just to clear up the argument
TheDjBlitzification 1 month ago
@TheDjBlitzification Neil was never about speed. I guess he could drum fast when he wanted to, but show me where does he ever go for speed in songs? Neil is at his best when doing complicated polyrhythms , like in YYZ, La Villa Strangiato, and subdivisions.

Peart and Bonham..... damn close, a little different styles. I couldn't pick one! But life or death, give me Zep and Bonham.

@BAZOOKATOOTH32 It really depends on what I feel like listening to on a certain day. I can't actually choose between them.

@MrThreshold2009 Jesus! what is your obsession with reni? every video I go on your banging on about him. I love the stone roses (going to see them in Heaton Park next summer, cannot fucking wait) and i love reni, great unique drummer who is criminally underrated, but why bang on about him in keith moon, led zep videos, etc?! he's not in Moon, Bonham, Mitchell, Baker or Peart's league, get over it
bigdaveupload1980 1 month ago
@bigdaveupload1980 Calm yourself, dear. You don't know much about drumming, that's obvious. My obesssion with Reni is that he's the most naturally gifted drummer I've ever come across - a total genius. You've certainly managed to totally overreact to it all. Towing the usual Bonham line is pretty tedious as well.
MrThreshold2009 1 month ago
@MrThreshold2009 don't know much about drumming? you based that on one youtube comment in which i didnt refer to any drumming technique? ok pal. towing the bonham line? sorry if you feel thats what I did my expressing my opinion that Bonzo was a better drummer than reni, (who drummed one amazing album, and one incredibley average album by the way). Far more innovative and influential, even though i'm more of a moon, portnoy, mithcell, and 'boring' peart fan.
bigdaveupload1980 1 month ago
@bigdaveupload1980 Bonham was a fantastic drummer, I have no issues with that, he's one of the best ever. But "far more innovative"? Come off it. He'd get a big heavy groove and stick with it, and that's about all. And Moby Dick could be a hell of a drag. Reni's drumming is actually on a number of albums, and countless bootlegs (spanning dozens of songs you won't have heard). Another drummer, Jaki Liebezeit, is way above any of the drummers you listed.
MrThreshold2009 1 month ago
@MrThreshold2009 Jaki is absoluetly terrific. I thought you were just a stone roses fanboy, but it appears you know your stuff if your mentioning him. Don't wanna argue with you, sorry if it came across like that. Moon will always be my favourite drummer though, the 'Jimi Hendrix of the drumkit', But i do love reni. You going to the renuninon gig?

I'm a sophomore at a high school full of dubstep, pop and rap. and people who say they listen to rock and or metal, not this age. they listen to stuff like Asking Alexandria or whatever... I get ripped on for wearing a KISS shirt or Iron Maiden. I get labeled goth, emo or just stupid. I dress what now-a-days people would classify as goth. When in reality, I dress as a metalhead. Leather Jacket, Dark Blue jeans and sporting a band Tee underneath. Along with my metal militia dog tags. True Story.
arceus9000 2 months ago
@arceus9000 Good for you for being yourself...and don't worry about what anyone says about your musical tastes or the clothes you wear. 20 years from now people will STILL be listening to Zeppelin, Kiss, Iron Maiden, etc...and the "flavor of the day internet bands" that we have to suffer through now a days will be just a distant memory. Most of them won't even qualify for One hit wonder status.
