  • This Russian national anthem is for CCCP but lyrics is different, not all Russians love that system and many diehard Soviet Union lovers were non-Russians! The demise of the soviet union was definatel the tragedy for everyone but I understand that utophia dream was too far!

  • Helmut Lotti had a good tast - anyway better than the Flemish dark sounding agressive "national" anthem with its completely stupid text - Really!

  • Helmut goes Russian?:-)

  • Lotti does a tour de force here. Greetings from Flanders!!! (Belguim)

  • Glory to Mother Russia, homeland of freedom and justice! Greetings from Italy!

  • he give heart in this beautiful anthem, good

    love to russia from germany.

  • @donk2metal Danke sehr! :)

  • greetings from Slovenija

  • The range in his voice is so fucking amazing, not to mention beautiful. And with the power of this song, it just makes an extremely beautiful and uplifting song that fills me with pride (despite the fact I'm not Russian myself, it still fills me with said pride)

  • This person is up to the level singing in a way that is formal and decent.

  • Great!

    @mihaivitro: Thanks for sending!

  • La Marseillaise and this are my fav nat anthems

  • is best!

  • i'm Tunisian and i LOVE Russia anathem....maybe because of revolution....very beautifull Melody.

  • i love this version! <3

  • This is a good video for learning the lyrics, since he doesn't have a heavy accent and pronounces every word very clearly.

  • Russian/Soviet anthem is the best anthem on earth!!

    greetings from the USA

  • great

  • Best anthem in the world.

  • Not bad, but still much better when sung by the united people in my opinion

  • Pleas just go back to using the the same lyrics as the USSR did. The song had more power and sounded stronger.

  • @gulbirk We cannot use the lyrics of non-existent country... Russia has different orientation of policy as compared with USSR so the anthem is different too.

  • @PavelKomissarov The first line of the chorus is still the same as the USSR anthem

  • @killer99690 yes, it is.

  • @PavelKomissarov simple, go bak to being the USSR, much more national pride present in that time, and more equility between the people, that is if u do the idea of communism correctly, unlike how it ended and broke up by the ruler at that time (i missplaced his name)

    greetings from an iranian :)

long live both of our countries!!!

  • @farshad94abedi Ideal communism (aka Marxism) will never work in a large society such as Russia. According to Marxist theory, everyone is equal in every (or most) aspect. However, with a large population such as Russia, there needs to be some form of leadership, and that already denies Marxism. Ideal Communism will only work in a small society.

  • @gulbirk hell yeah

  • @soverato3

The Anthems of Soviet Union and modern Russia have the same music but different lyrics. However the mentioned fragment is the same in both anthems - "Славься, Отечество наше свободное!" - "Slav'sya Otechestvo Nashe Svobodnoe!" - "Be glorious, our free Fatherland!". So "Sing to the motherland home of the free!" is not correct translation.

  • @PavelKomissarov

i thought : sing to the motherland home of the free

was the translation of that sense in the ussr anthem =S

    those translaters suck!

  • @PavelKomissarov

i thought : sing to the motherland home of the free

was the translation of that sense in the ussr anthem =S

    those translaters fail..

  • @PavelKomissarov

yes but is does sais it in the soviet anthem... doesnt it??

  • @PavelKomissarov

yes but is does sais it in the cccp anthem

  • @soverato3 no

  • @PavelKomissarov why does all videos of the urss anthem say it in the lycise than????

  • @soverato3

I do not really know why. Maybe this is lost in translations... In Russian language this fragment is absolutely the same.

  • @PavelKomissarov ok=) thnx!!! my russian isnt too good =S i should take some courses....

  • first : sing to the motherland home of the free

now : be glorious, our free fatehrland

haha first ( original ) was better and had a more true meaning

  • im moroccan, i ve heard this performence 2 days ago and i can't get it out of my mind even if i dont understand what it says, grats russians you ve a great enthem !

  • @merroki

i have just made the subtitles. so now you and other international visitors of my channel can feel the sense...

  • I'm curious, how good is his pronunciation? I know Russians appreciate their language a lot (and rightfully so, it's a beautiful language) and I wonder if he is good enough not to cause anyone's hair to stand up?

  • @Spathever He sings very impressive, in very good Russian with an almost inaudible slight French accent.

  • @PavelKomissarov that's a bit strange because he is dutch speaking

  • @TheDampkap what is strange?

  • @Spathever Yehh very impressive thou slite piece of accent ofcours is present but never the less very impressive work.

  • This guy plus this ensemble is perfect for Sochi Olympics

    Greetings from philippines(go Russians)

  • @Proeurope24 Oh, this is really good idea! Thanks for your comment.

  • This guy's smile gives me the creeps

  • he is cute! and sings very well

  • Greetings from Sudan

    ^__^

  • I'm from Belgium and he's known for covering many Russian songs actually, both translated and in native language.

  • Slav'sya strana !! =)

  • Very well done, Sounds like a ballad

  • This guy is good.....The russians I'm sure were very impressed...

  • Thank you , Helmut! It is great!

  • @PavelKomissarov

  • R.I.P. Grandfather hero in world war 2

  • The Best Solo for the Hymn of Russia I have heard so far!!

  • To me, this is the world's finest National Anthem. The Red Army Chorus has the definitive version. Helmut Lotti has a fabulous ear for great music and this is a stirring and wonderful performance that he has given us. The video couldn't be better. Thanks to PavelKomissarov for posting it!

  • How come singer from Belgium sang it?

  • @fuzinho1 I guess he took air ticket and came :)
