If a house was exposed to over a hundred thousand rads, more than enough to kill a person, the house would continue to stand there, mostly unchanged. Second, Yes, nuclear bombs are weapons. They suck, because large "world power" status countries can't use them. Bound by our laws and rules, it would only take a country that doesn't follow the rules, to start nuking each other.
