@Hayashigame Actually, I remember now - YouTube didn't allow me to use the original music I picked (for Copyright reasons, presumably). So I picked one it allowed me to...
Too bad people were forbidden to stroll around in it for "health" reasons.... Walking on it, feeling the "crunch" under your feet, hearing it, was as much part of the experience as seeing it and conceptualising it....
Honestly, seeing some of the comments here, some people need to take a proverbial chill pill. Perhaps naively, I went to test my camera out and the Tate Modern was free and had stuff going on...and perhaps naively, I hope that someday you'll invest all that energy and conviction you have into making the world a better place instead of spreading hate online.
If we can get the USA Marines to paint half the number of sun flower seeds we will be assured the world will have more peace.
This project is a blatant affront to humanity and as heartless as the harvesting of bear biles.
The chinese govt should make Ai count each and every seed so that he will know the suffering and insult he has inflicted on the poor rural folks. Their ancestors produced porcelians of great value but today reduced to producing seeds like a robot. Demeaning.
@HelmetBlissta It is called art :)... but some people don't get it. It's ok. The real waste of energy is for you to have typed a comment on something you obviously know/understand nothing about,... or for us for having read it.
@AmericaRuinsYou Aside from a discussion about 'what is art', you realise they aren't real sunflower seeds and consist of about 100 Million hand-crafted porcelain art pieces, right?
@AmericaRuinsYou You should also watch the Tate video on his process. They represent different things including what the Chinese people used for subsistance during the cultural revolution. If you still don't get it, watch "Ai Weiwei, Without Fear or Favor", also on youtube. I think you can take something away from this, not that art is as literal as you fully "get it" or not at all.
i like this video

@guimine i think it would have been good if people could just sign a health waver and walk on if they wished rather than just no allowance to.

@SelamatArtist Yeah you're right: Making shoes for "Nike", fake "Dior" products or leveling characters for WoW 24/7 is so much enhancing.

This man is an unprincipled self-publicist whose work has no artistic merit. He is lionised by the western media for political purposes.
