  • it would be so fucking cool if the Americans had a game of rugby &the rugby players play American football :L the world would watch that shit !

  • football a 60 minuet game that takes 5 hours to watch,,,,,,

  • Football is all sumo wrestlers and tiny black guys.

Rugby is all the same kind of people, strong people with stamina who arent to pussy to take a hit without pads

  • A rugby team vs an american football team, rugby wins, american football team is too unbalanced, some really fat sumo's & some light sprinters, Rugby: much more spread out (take a look at lomu a few years ago) fast as fuck, but he'll knock anyone out also. Football team doesn't have the stamina. Put in the rugby style play (not talking bout the rules, just about the amount of time that the game DOESN't stop) ... they'll be exhausted in 20min's

  • They are both great sports and both so much better than soccer

  • i play rugby and ive played football but rugby is for real men

  • the rugby wons because in the football you want to use protection

  • @imisrael92 you call us fags but yet your to dumb to spell

  • rugnys for gay fags.

  • im a foot ball player and i admit it proudly that i am scared to play rugby ha ha

  • Both are great sports. But the people saying "AF is girly because they wear pads" clearly never suited up and played organized football. Pads give you a false sense of protection players have no hesitation when hitting head to head. Just watch punt/kick returns and receivers over the middle literally get knocked out from hits. There are far more serious injuries that occur in football now then 100 years ago when there basically no pads.

  • @whothaplaya Do you know anything about AF? The whole reason pads were introduced was because people were doing the head to head charges anyway and not knocking each other out, they were killing each other. There was such a high mortality rate that President Roosevelt almost banned the game in 1910 and that is almost exactly a hundred years ago. Google it and make sure you've got your facts right before you try and have a go at the people who know more than you.

  • @GEHIRNMASSE95

Na Klar gibt es Rugby Vereine in Deutschland, du machst dir wohl einfach keine Mühe nach welchen zu suchen. ;) Geh mal nach Heidelberg oder Hannover....

  • Alot of these comments are so stupid ? If you watched this video rugby and football are pretty much the same ? Rugby doesn't use pads unlike football. They both have a little different rules to both games but either way both sports are tough and hard ? If you have never played rugby then shut up and stop saying it's a pussy sport! If you have never played football shut up also!

  • by me in germany there arent any rugby teams :((((((

  • American football is boring and is a sissy sport, rugby is a sport of men without fear of pain or shock

  • Easy to tackle hard with helmets and pads . Even the little things in rugby are painfull like the knees and elbows to the face etc .

  • Rugby is for Prisses....Football is a real sport!!!!!

  • @TheMAGIKJEWZ126 Anyone can look tough when they're wearing bulky gear. You got any facts to back up your comment? Or are you just attempting to troll?

  • @seanthamaster if you put nfl players in those tight union jersies they would look a lot bigger and tougher than rugby players.

  • @oJKBo

Rugby players are bigger than NFL players even if NFL players have their pussy protections

  • @MrHerpeez lol yeah, how many 300lb (21st) + rugby players are there? Everybody knows Jonah Lomu 6'5 276lb, but do you know Mario Williams 6'6 295lb? or Kevin Williams 6'5 311lb? or Joe Thomas 6'7 313lb? or Steve Hutchinson 6'5 313lb? no lol, offensive lines in the NFL average over 300lbs, rugby players are, in fact, not as big.

  • @oJKBo

Like 50% of football players are fat son.

  • @MrHerpeez lol actually it's 56% of NFL players are obese-- but then again Jonah Lomu would be obese by using the same standard that study was done with, body mass index. Vernon Gholston is 6'3 260lb with an obese BMI yet has only 6% body fat-- 5% is essential fat. Obesity should be determined by body fat not BMI

  • @oJKBo most props in rugby would be 280 - 300lbs, with some over. like i said though, you can't be that heavy in rugby and expect to run around for 80 minutes. I've seen those offensive linemen. they're very fat. If they were to play rugby then they would be expected to lose a lot of weight.

  • @hustleboy62 o rly? Hayman 252, Woodcock 260, Sheridan 276, du Randt was only 280. Please, it isn't 80 minutes of running, there's plenty of breaks and slow periods. If it were nonstop running for 80 minutes you wouldn't see water boys running onto the field. Anthony Costanzo 6'7 300lbs, Nate Solder 6'8 305lbs, Gabe Carimi 6'7 315lbs, these guys are right out of college. They're fat because they need to be around 300lbs but shouldn't be as tall as the guys I've just listed

  • @hustleboy62 offensive linemen wouldnt play rugby lol. Freeney aint fat /watch?v=X3Zw1JTF5GI, mario williams aint fat /watch?v=SbcmqyKtWew, jason babin aint fat /watch?v=VMXv8q424_U, osi umenyiora aint fat /watch?v=nFUsHcIaQZY

  • @oJKBo i google imaged them and they all seemed to have very large bellies, though not as large as the average offensive lineman. don't try to kid yourself. you know for a fact that 95% of lineman are extremely fat. however, that is what is required of them. heavier = better in that position. That doesn't escape the fact though that if they needed to run around for 80 minutes, then they would need to lose a lot of that weight.

  • @hustleboy62 lol obviously you didnt. Extremely fat because they focus almost entirely on strength. If you had a lineman go through a cutting period where all he did was intense cardio in about a year he would be ripped as fuck. No, stronger=better in that position.

  • @MrHerpeez Larry Allen benched 50st, Stephen Paea benched 16st 49 times. Carl Hayman can squat 484lbs-- Mike Martin who plays in college can squat 700lb. Stop being ignorant

  • @oJKBo

Ignorant? Yet you call real football soccer, keep playing handegg. Rugby is way manlier, players are also bigger

    nuff.

  • @MrHerpeez wtf? lol. Yes you're ignorant, we call ASSOCIATION football soccer because there is no such thing as ONE football as there are several different codes. The football you're thinking of is not real football it's association football and was named such because it is played under the rules set by the Football Association in 1863--we call it soccer because soccer comes from the word association and was created by some very *american students at Oxford University

  • @MrHerpeez oh yeah and you keep saying rugby players are bigger...can you name ONE rugby player bigger than 6'8 360lbs (26st)?

  • @oJKBo well i don't know of any pro rugby players at 360lbs, but that's because you can't be that heavy in rugby and expect to run around non-stop for 80 minutes. The lack of gameplay in football means that they can be heavier. Rugby players generally tend to max out around 300lbs. However, there are many well over 6ft 8.

  • @seanthamaster YEAH alot of rugby players are gay!!!!!

  • @TheMAGIKJEWZ126 Lol shouldn't be much different then slapping your buddies ass and tell him "good game." Besides, it must be humiliating to have your ass owned on the field by a gay guy, huh? Be a man and take the pads off.

  • football is better

  • Okay then, lets get the football players out of their pads and helmets and then we'll see who's more committed to their tackles...

  • rugby's the best

  • Both great sports too good to compare them against each other :)

  • Okay..football hits are harder cause u feel safe so u plow harder..rugby not as much but it jus goes on an on

  • I've played both and rugby is just overall a better game.

  • Football

  • both are great you can't comapare them

  • Completely different games, play rugby but also enjoy Football. I think contact sports are the winners here

  • football player thinks they are the best ones, rugby player Are the best ones

    RUGBY for ever !!!!

  • @Kurd033

    and you are for ass!!!

  • Look at the uploaders USERNAME

  • Oh and when a team is crowned World Champions in Rugby Union they really are, they have beaten the rest of the world. In Football the winner of the NFL is called world champions and its only a domestic competition, they haven't beaten the world.

Don't give me any of that "if our footballers played rugby we would be the best in the world" crap.

  • @DonovanErica Well, we would. We are back to back Rugby gold medalist you know. All our talent goes to our sports.

  • @kemoblue4u True but that was nearly 100 years ago, still not world champions. That was Olympic champions. NFL is still a domestic competition. I wouldn't have a problem with the winner being called World Champions if it was an international not a domestic competition.

  • @DonovanErica Lol i agree. i have NO CLUE why its callef a "World Series" in baseball when the only team outside of the US is the Toronto Blue Jays of Canada. I think its retarded as well

  • @DonovanErica

that's because gridiron teams in other countries compete on the level of American high school or colleges.

  • I just couldn't wear those tight shiny leotards the Footballers wear. Also there was a lot of Rugby League footage in this clip.

I am not sure if you americans realise there are 2 very distinct games of Rugby, Rugby Union (played by the All Blacks) then there is Rugby League.

  • rugby vs. handegg*

  • 1:45 Definitely more of a rugby fan, but that was slick

  • who ever played rugby fuckin knows whats best ! true love 2 rugby

  • @mullski2793

football is way better than rugby!!!!

    period!

  • @MegaTobins98 Lol "football is way better than rugby. PERIOD" i find it humorous how you ended your argument right there.

  • @seanthamaster

    why?..........

  • @mullski2793 rugby sucks stupid europeans chasing people around because they are to dumb to play football

  • @AssassinN8ive im sorry but you need to be smarter to play rugby because everything happens on the go. you need to know where to be what to do at all times. rugby is way more organized than football too. i play both rugby and football i like rugby better but they are different games in every aspect

  • @slugger6294 uhh You have to move everywhere in football before play the reason the europeans say "Americans are slow We are the fastest" is because they have no equipment. american linemen are fast as a roadrunner w/equipment so they are fast as a 120 pound athlete in rugby. so the running backs or special players like WR or QB or FB are approximately 17-20 mph w/ equipment. look up ray lewis or roy lewis compare. CB vs. LB. so yeah you get it yet?

  • @mullski2793 i did but i like football more

  • Rugby supporters tend to severely underestimate the strength, speed, and especially size of American Football players, which is weird considering that info, stats, pics, and vids are readily available. From Mario Williams to Calvin Johnson to Jake Long, Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews, and Adrian Peterson, and 100's more, FB players are bigger, stronger, and faster than Rugby players.

  • @bebomac5 I say we get the best football team AMERICA has to offer (I say America because football is not a worldwide sport) and the WORLD'S best rugby team and let them play both sports.

  • @BrokenXskeemX different sports and different skill sets so they couldnt play each other....

  • @erozpl01 It would still be fun to watch

  • @bebomac5 not exactly when you play rugby you realize these guys are fucking tough and you gotta have huge balls to play rugby ive played both and maybe it was cuase I was younger but in football the pads were alotta extra support that you dont have playing rugby and you are running straight into these guys unlike in football where you might catch the ball past 95% of the defenders.

  • @bebomac5 rugby involves immence endurance which football lacks entirely

  • can't compare the two. i played both through school and club level and they are two very diff games each require diff skills. its not just picking up a ball and running and trying to hit the guy with the ball. its like trying to compare netball to b.ball.

  • rugby gets my vote.

  • i hope you guys know that those pads dont do shit when a fucking linebacker plows through your ass. those pads as one guy said before are used as weapons such as the helmet. and those breaks arent to catch our fucking breathes you idiots its strategy and its about reading the defensive scheme meanwhile in rugby any fucking idiot can play because there is to do but run around, you have no roll and you have no task to remember

  • @luvjb95 but in rugby, the only way a team works is because we each have a roll and a task to complete. Footballers support team members on a run by blocking, we support by being there to catch a pass or ruck over. And there is strategy and prelaid plans in a rugby game - and the reading of the defense happens on the go so we have to adjust on the go. I used to play football til I found rugby - the pads just got in the way for me, personally.

  • RUGBY IS WAYYYY MORE HARDCORE!! I LIVED IN AUSTRALIA FOR COLLEGE AND I AM AN AMERICAN!! RUGBY IS MASSIVE ALL OVER THE WORLD!! AND EVERYONE IS AUSTRALIA HATED AMERICAN FOOTBALL BECAUSE OF THE GIRL PADS!!

  • @JesusRad20 everyone knows this....

  • Ok! Football requires smarts tactics and even with the pads the hits are on the same level as rugby. Both very physical but rugby tends to be more hectic. If you took the pads of those "American pussies" they would have atleast one person dead each game. The guys are 6'5 250 lbs compared to averaged sized rugby players. Both very different from the other but I think football is more fun to play because you get to have that all star feel when you get a touchdown, int, sack ect. Rugby is cool but

  • I think that both sports are great:

-American football requires alot more planning and tactics, because those breaks that we take are not just to catch our breath, but to call plays to try to throw off the defense. While we do wear pads, it also allows for harder hits, because defenders will use these pads as weapons (helmet to helmet)

-Rugby has great hits, and it is much more addicting to watch. It is a fun sport to play, and the action is non-stop.

  • rugby is more tougher american football u r paded up n in rugby u only wear light body amour

  • Rugby - football

    Sorry

  • Im american and this is my thoughts

    Rugby - American Football

    Nuff said

  • I once watched the Super Bowl. No disrespect to American Football but it took half a day to get through.... play for two minutes then 5 minutes break. Then out come the cheerleaders.... fair enough.... but I lost interest in watching after about half an hour...Rugby was over within an hour and a half and it was full on from start to finish. I believe rugby is a purist sport... AF is more like Disneyland with helmets....

  • @myguyred123 mo, but most are

  • Personally I think american football is an awful sport ! with all the breaks every 10 seconds - they only play for an hour yet the event goes on for ages ! physically they are not as good an athlete as rugby players and lack the skills required for a top rugby player ! also the pads that american football player wear is absolutely pathetic and to prove that watch any AFL match there hits are much worse and they wear no protection. And no other country cares about american football...

  • "i just don't see why other countries dont give american football a chance"

    --

It's coz american football is rubbish.

Take rugby, add arbitrary yardage quotas, choreograph every single facet of free play, stop for a minute on every dead-ball, severely restrict team passing, allow wreckless tackling that can endanger life....

...and you end up with a sport that noone wants to play for any reason, except perhaps maybe for the opportunity to wear glittery, bright-coloured space marine suits...

  • @Kurd033 rugby is for the mentaly ill,! youv gota be fucked to play this games! and ive done that for 5 years now!

  • Rugby and American Football Kickass! I've never seen Football(soccer) Players have to pull chains, Push 3 Tonne tractors! Football(soccer) = GAY

  • @TheTechnoBrain Our football is a hundred times better than your football. The reason why 2 billion people watch one game.

  • i just don't see why other countries dont give american football a chance i have looked up luma all the guys you ask us to look up there beastly i would not mess with them... now that i have seen urs players look up vernon davis training, ray lewis hit's look at how big someone like dwight freeney is and has a six pack i know they don't have the stamina rugby players have but why train like that when plays are not as long

  • at least they both aren't fag sports like soccer and tennis

  • rugby but only because you get really hot in those giant pads.

  • i love both sports, they are one in the same. True AF is a shorter game. But the real football, not that NFL shit ya'll see on tv, doesnt involve pads, breaks bones, gives concussions on a regular basis, as does NFL, and people have most certainly died playin it. both require an immense amount of skills and training, just slightly different training.

  • Sebastien Chabal*

  • @Theriot6592 in rugby are much really good players (Jonah Lomu, Sebatien Chabal,...) search this 2 players , then you know how "big" rugby players are !

  • Baseball BORING, Soccer SUCKS, Football Fun, RUGBY ROCKS

  • Rugby not American football :)

  • the biggest football players are bigger than the biggest rugby players because football players specialize. In Rugby, everyone has to be able to do anything, so you can't just get big and then sit there in a line like a wall.

  • Heyy ! what happen here? of course .. both are very good sports, but do not try to bring the level of football to the rugby .. beyond the person who played both may answer this question ... Rugby is absolutely the most complete and has a much higher level

  • Rugby trumps American football all the way. For starters they were no pads and second it is much faster and requires more intelligence

  • I play scrum half for my team and I've played football as a wide reciever and my two years in football have never made me want to quit.

The only sport that's truely tough and requires thinking and skill is rugby.

  • American football is a gay sport compare to Rugby ;)

  • @docsharp00 your pretty gay to say that

  • @sukmejuicebox you are american right? ;) so you don't know what is rugby really ;)

  • @raggedrazor but if a rugby team went and played an nfl team in football they would most likely dominate them and they woulden't wear pads eather and then the nfl team would get dominated at rugby 2

  • RUGBY

  • rugby kicks the pussy american football any day

  • Both man sports

  • i dont see what all the debate over which is better is about. both are good for different reasons. FYI football was created by Havard and Princeton (for those of you overseas 2 prestegous american colleges) because when we played rugby too many kids were getting straight slaughtered. Sure rugby has bigger hits but the reason most rugby players dont apreciate football is because when watching it you cant get the stragedy....i play lacrosse anyway

  • @iThinkMyNameIsLandon lol you know most american rugby player have played football at one point and still like rugby better right

  • Comment removed

  • In rugby you would have 2 be stronger because you don't have pads r anything just a gum shield n football u need more tactics and speed

  • football is a lot more about coaching, they stop, choose a play and then go. Rugby is a lot more about the players, they are in great shape because they don't have time to stop, and they have to make a lot more decisions on the fly.

  • RRUUUUGGGBYYYYYYYY

  • i agree im a football player but itz obvious u need to be crazy good and gotta no how to take a hit and still keep goin in rugby honestly i dnt see how they do it

  • i am a HUGE football fan,but.........this is a real mans sport.

  • @jrjc189 Thank you for reasoning... I'm a rugby player but I'm not saying it's better just because I play it, but you have to be so much more fitter and athletic to play Rugby than Football, to be able to recover constantly from big runs, tackles, take downs etc and then carry on playing as it lasts for 40minutes x2 is pretty hard going. Football sometimes has bigger hits yeah but thats in my opinion because of the morale boost and confidence the armour gives them. Rugby is a tough game!

  • @666xXxSLAYERxXx666 i know how hard football can b.im a senior in high school.our team had an undefeated regular season,i led in tackles from the d line which is very rare considering im not even 200 pounds and made the all south team, but ive seen rugby and its for real.the only sport i think it compares to is wrestling.

  • @jrjc189 Congrats :)

  • @jrjc189 come to england and see if u can keep that title agents real game like rugby and follow are rules for it and see how long u last mate just expect to be hit like a tank

  • @darkkrenify ok.didnt have to b a dick,im going to college next year and im joining te rugby team bcuz ive been watching alot of rugby lately and i have a couple of friends who play and im really starting to like it.so im gonna tryout for the team and see what i got

  • @jrjc189 just a deads up its gunna hurt like hell and its very taxing

  • Basically, if you had an offensive line up of front row's, your quarterbacks laffin.

  • ok, i think football, i play football and you get hit you get up it sucks and, rugby players they may fast without pads but those pads add an extra 15-20 pounds they be slow as hell with pads...on the other hand rugby players don't hit as hard as football but...they dont wear pads so..i dunno to hard to compare.

P.S.. Football is not a ripp off of rugby they are totally diffrent

  • @TheGangser123 look up some rugby players, not only are they faster but most hit harder, brian kabana for example can beat a cheetah in the 100m, and rugby hits are harder because of more momentum of the players, they're muscley most fat.

  • @shchbb96 i agree with you that rugby players are badass. but beating a cheetah in a 100m race is not going to happen. Usain bolt reaches speeds of 38/39km/h in a 100m race, a cheetah reaches up to 120km/h and gets up to 100km/h within 4 seconds.

  • @TheGangser123 are your retarded rugby is like american footballs daddy it was created from rugby

  • What's wrong with you all? if american football players play without helmets and gears they will end up killing each other! American football players are a lot bigger stronger heavier faster!! you wouldn't know this because you aint American!

  • @shaikhportaltube lol WELL i am american and i have played both rugby players may not way more but the body fat ratio is about 6 percent and they way up around 250 so that about 150 to 160 pound of musle my NFL line dont got that just a big gut

  • Well i think i have a pretty good idea of how they both are...ive played rugby (sinceU-12 up to the currrent U-19) and an undefeated football team. Rugby games are much more difficult, much more running, hits are pretty hard. In football, much easier for illegal hits, and kids hit people harder because of the pads. In my opinion they are almost equal, i enjoy them exactly the same. and dont try to tell me whats what unless you have diligently been committed to both of them like i have.

  • it all boils down to personal prefrence. i play both sports and im on a team of each.. yea football sweet but i got to go with rugby hands down for the fact its go go go. but football on the other hand for some sweet 50 yard passes

  • Football has harder hits than rugby but rugby is probally more of a brudial sport

  • i dont think football players have the condition ruby players have, they dont even play as long in the game. they stop every 10 seconds and then only a couple have to really run and besides this there is a offensive team and a defensive team.

on the other hand rugby is more chaotic and non stop then football. being able to pass and kick more and keep going after being tackled.

just compare the two atheletic bodies, a rugby player looks like an MMA fighter while the football player may even b fat

  • @duder215 NFL requires more tactic.

  • @duder215 football is about strategy, not hitting. half of the hits rugby players do to eachother would be considered unsportsmanlike conduct in the NFL. Some football players are fat, they line up against the other teams fat players and try to either take down the ball carrier or protect him. The strong and fast guys play on the outsides of the line or linebacker or running/tail back. The receivers, cornerbacks, RB's, and safeties have to be extremely agile.

  • @oJKBo So diving into players on the blind side without and gripping is considered good sportsmanship in AF? Hmm, something's not quite right here.

  • @oJKBo lol rugby is all strategy lol it is just a way faster paced and you have to be able to change and adapt

  • @duder215 you got it wrong... football is known to be the most aggressive sport known to man.

  • @duder215 Im sorry but you simply cannot argue that rugby is less non-stop than football. Its not even nearly debatable. Also look at amateur level and see whether there are more fat people in rugby or football. This is one of the worst comments I have ever read

  • @duder215 i voted down because i just looked at it was amercian football and i thought you where talking about normal football lol

  • @duder215 you've obviously never seen a football player without his pads on. Check out adrian peterson for example.

  • @duder215 word they are different games tho so its not exactly right to compare them but rugby is the greatest sport ive ever played and I have played football

  • I think that american football is a harder game to master and rugby is a more visually exiting game

  • Football is the Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you don't believe me you can try an experiment. tie a 2 lbs. piece of metal to astring and have someone bring it up, drop it and let swing towards your face. no matter how hard you try your reflexes will make you move your head back so it doesnt hit you in the nose even if you dont realize it. if you do get hit in the face i suggest going to a doctor because your shit is fucked up

  • @Xx8Maui0Boi8xX when you go in for a hit your not thinking your gonna get hurt, your thinking your gonna hurt them.

  • I like both sports. theyre both brytal but in differebt ways. rugbys more gritty because of no protective gear and at the end of every game everyones covered in blood, its faster paced and more passion. but what alot of people dont realize is you hold back. you can try all you want but your subconsious will make you hold back. it;s reflexes. Am. football, you have more sense of security and you do all out full speed helmet to helmet hits that can cripple you.

  • @Xx8Maui0Boi8xX look up insane rugby hits, not alot of holding back in those tackles.

  • @UHtiger You're right i didnt see much hits like that before i watch more highschool rugby than pro so thats probably why i respect rugby players alot though because they have alot more conditioning than we football players do (especially my school) and there's alot more passion in rugby than football

  • @Xx8Maui0Boi8xX to be honest, the sport in that vid is rugby league, similar to rugby but a totally different sport. They both hit about the same its just the rules are more lenient in league and the play structure gives more opportunity to line people up.

  • @UHtiger One more thing if youre up to it look up nfl hardest hits some nasty stuff in there too

  • @Xx8Maui0Boi8xX yeahb i can appreciate how hard they hit in american football and watch games when they are on tv. was just pointing out that rugby players if given the chance do go all in.

  • Hey football fans, aren't your players getting fined for "hittin too hawrd"? I know when i get a boot to the forehead in a scrum, i dont complain about it i just plow the bastard over and make sure you put the spikes back to him. Seriously the last "injury" i saw on a football pitch was someone got their toe stepped on AND THEY LEFT THE FIELD! Shit ive gotten my face stomped to where blood was oozing out and still played on. Its rugby, its how you play the game.

  • rugby wins everytime

  • The choice is rugby 100 times out of 100

  • @jestersunshine if the football holigans have seen you.they sure have killed you!!

its looks like the views is just from rugby fans.there are 160 times as many fans in the world than rugby fans!!

  • @JLil football/soccer IS the biggest sport in the world!
