my guess is that gaga thinks no one remembers AoB from *enter sarcasm* way back in the 90s *end sarcasm*, so she copies all their melodies and people hear it, and think it's the best thing ever, because subconsciously, they remember AoB being the best thing ever when they were big.

Heard this Allejandro song on the radio and first thought "Ace of Base?" arent they like, DEAD or something? Then heard it was LadyGaga and thought "well maybe the Swedes are producing for her now?", but why on earth would she want to listen 100% like them as Ace of Base are notorious for using the same beat and Pan pipe beeps on every friggin tune they ever released. Thing is that Lady gaga probably bought this song of some hit factory that didnt bother telling her the AoB "inspiration".

In defense for GAGA I was never mad. I was just like whoa she is using their signature sound. I am really happy to know she did ask them. I had just heard that she admitted to being influenced by Euro pop in her travels so its cool. I am happy that even though so many folks don't follow AOB the way I do they still remember and love the AOB songs and immediately knew what GAGA had did lol.

@dragames, i'm a HUGE 80s and 90s fan. So any song i hear that sounds like or is a copy of and old song pisses me off for some reason (especially when the original sounds better than the copy or remake).

Anyway, first i'm glad, i didn't know Gaga got their permission and second, like i said before, they copy the good ones. I never said Gaga's version was bad. i was just pointing out an observation, that's all.

I love Gaga's tunes (just not the videos) lol. The two just don't match.

oh im glad im not the only one who thinks that lady gaga's alejandro sounds alot like ace of bases music style. im a big ace of base fan and ace of base is one the bands who got a unique sound. the first time i heard the intro of alejandro on the radio i thought its something new from ace of base, but to my surprise its lady gaga's voice
