And as hirota had talked shit about Aoki before the fight and surrendering later to him would've been more embarrassing to him then getting his arm broken.

There was a reason why Aoki flipped his finger. If you look at the fight video once again, Hirota was thumbing Aoki and grabbed Aoki's fingers as well.

These are fouls.

So, Aoki broke his arm and gave him a finger. That's all. Hirota asked for it. Just like Gracie choked Gordeau longer than necessary after he bit Gracie at UFC1.

it happens all the time though in this sport. its all about intimidation. When u got ur opponent scared of you, you won half the battle. You're trying to win the fight, not end someone else's career.

He fights great, but i just dont get it .. breaking someones arm with an armbar has really really extensive consequences , its not just ./cast and done.

however, his opponent didnt tap, cuz he was too stubborn aswell. I don't know. maybe it would happen to any fighter that doesnt tap.
