  • I STILL LOVE THEM!

  • Wow great vocals! Oh how I remember blue lights in the basement lol!

  • No lip syncing here. Straight live!

  • The 70's and 80's were so cool!

  • tonadas magicas q te hacian ir al otro mundo y volver

  • Hey! look at the design on the back of my jacket. Do you like the design on the back of my jacket?

  • Love this song

  • beautiful!

  • this guy make singing look so damn easy!!

  • I was just having a discussion about this music with some young girls. We expected and got respect from the guys. The young girls today don't expect it and don't get it. Their music is about tapping and slapping and dropping them. I'm glad I'm old school.

  • so nice to listen to music without all the swearing. This was real music

  • @pjjhighroller ..check out my "Bring Back the real R&B..Soul Music" on facebook. that's all I want to hear these days.

  • I used to love looking at brothers with Afros back in the day. Still do.

  • damn i wish my hair could grow like that again....lol

  • why did we get away from music like this

  • @em2729 my theory is that its easy to produce and sale shit these days..less time consuming then putting ur heart and soul into real music

  • wow!! this is rare!

  • no one realy sings about love any more

  • I love this song! I grew up listening to this music.

  • Harlem/Bronx Soul

  • lol! funny & so tru @DoomCity202

  • Paterson New Jersey years. O man, I miss this era soooooooo much. Are they still around?

  • brooklyn years

  • I agree with NaturalMonty They Just don't sing like this anymore.

  • So beautiful! Everyone loved them:)

  • Black Ivory and The Delfonics were the groups no one could touch. They sang such beautiful love songs, the words were clear and their voices were so pure--nothing but solid Black Gold music to our ears. Groups don't come like this anymore or ever will again.

  • serious afros ....love it!

  • Leroy Burgess on Falsetto lead tenor was awesome here

  • them brothas are steppin, i was 8, and luv their asses, this brotha can sing, 2day wannabees, cant fuck with this, sing baby, sing, with ur fine ass, black self

  • I lived in the same building growing up with Stuart, the light skinned brother in the middle

  • @thrixdog where ..he is fine

  • @sierria64

In Harlem, he lived in my building, he was teenager in a group of guys in the development that were about three or four years older than we were. Leroy was a day camp counselor at my church. I also have ran into Stuart a few years ago.

  • @thrixdog where ..he is fine..i lived in watts ca and lived in the gardens w3ith the slyvers off imperial hwy in los angeles

  • That was freaking Awesome.. I thought it was just a lip sync milly-vanilly.

I never got to see these live guys back in the day so this was proof that the could indeed perform the song.

The steps are just plain nasty too! And them triad harmonies ain't either..

Many of these sorry-asses "singers" out here today can't even dream this.

  • is it me or could everybody back in the days could sing i bet they was coming out as a baby singing with a mic

  • @kpottsful didn't need mics just straight up lung power. if it wasn't for a European station on itunes for me this tune would be stuck on the shelf. thanx to the poster!

  • Looking at this outfits, I am waiting for a karate movie to start any minute with loon chucks and all. Brother got a sweet falsetto though. Yea, don't turn around--sweet!

  • REAL MUSIC!

  • Leroy Burgess on deck!

  • I believe the one in the middle is Tyava's father (Tyava's mom is Olympia Sylvers of The Sylvers).

  • BIG TIME FAV

  • Love Black Ivory!!!

  • I remember them!

  • Music like this will NEVER be made or sung like this again. Thanks for the post and the memories. P.S. Don Cheadle was singing his ass off.

  • brothas in the back sportin the perfect afros!!

  • Just love this song, the steppin is bad ass. Put it all together and it just blows away the crap we have today---You feelin me?????

  • Classic butter $

  • Never heard of them, but the one in the middle has that California afro!

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup < LOL!!!!

  • Music was music back then. You hear the instruments and the harmonies. I had the biggest crush on Russell! I think this was taped on the tv show, Soul before there was cable.

  • I miss SOUL MUSIC!

  • All y'all talkin bout O rappers don't know and young people don't know grow the hell on up and teach them something then and stop with the same bullsht when I was your age we listened to real music then if you feel that way teach them something otherwise you makin things worse cause then they wanna say they Doin the same thing my dad taught me real music so did my mom grandparents andteachers I'm black- African american and alittle Indian mostly black and I'm 19 grow the fuc up people

  • All I know is these guys are younger than I am now. Probably younger than Lil Wayne, DEFINITELY younger than JayZ and yet this music carries gravity, vibe and is absolutely fucking beautiful. Somebody mentioned the "vines" or clothes. As much a sign of their individuality as anything. Black Genius!!

  • Seventies children are still bad!

  • Well djs have. the good sense to sample and even play this kind of music. Reminds me of back in the day

  • This is STEPPING that what they use to call this right here. They can step man listening to this just brings back so many memories. The Vietnam war was still in effect and the weed was the real thing untreated shit. i mean everything was all good as they say . This was one of the cuts every one in the neighborhood who thought they could sing try ed to blow. Much love to who ever posted this and the vines was right their yea the 70's...

  • WOW..that's what I'm sayin...I love this music.

  • Awesome! Man how far has music fallen...especially soul music...it's on an island and there are no escapees... the old school had such sweet harmony...

  • IT IS FUNNY HOW YOU CAN ASK MOST LATINO'S ABOUT THIS GREAT MUSIC AND THEY KNOW WHO,WHAT ,AND WHERE...BUT ASK A YOUNGER BROTHA' AND HE IS COMPLETELY CLUELESS ABOUT OUR GREAT PAST...WOULD BE NICE IF SOME OF THEM WOULD EDUCATE THEMSELVES AND BRING SOME OF THIS BACK...WHAT A GREAT STYLE AS COMPARED TO WHAT IS THERE NOW..

  • @MrLeenick1 This is true..lol! Of all my employees..it's the younger Latinos that groove to the music I play in the office (all old school, of course). Most of the young brothers and sisters (save 1 or 2) are like..please no more of that 70s crap... The 70s are over..blah blah..move on... but not my brown brothers and sisters..nope they ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT..and know it all..

  • @MrLeenick1 specifically what age group are you asking to? You mention Latino's but what age where they vs the brotha man.

  • THESE CATS ARE THE BOMB...IM FROM THIS ERA AND THERE IS JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLE NO MORE OF THIS TYPE OF ARTISTRY

  • I own the first two albums. What a group....unsung.......memories that can not be forgotten by yours truly. BIG UPS for these young harmonically together brothers.

    WORD IS BOND!

  • That choreography was sharp.

  • this is the music i grew up listing too and my children wonder why I say the junk that they are hearin is junk . sooooo sweet and lovely yes baby making music , love it You are what you listen to over and ove get my point

  • most amazingly they are not lip syncing

  • Three nice-looking (love the Afros) young men who apparently have escaped some of the ravages of aging, they don't look too bad now. Another favorite by Black Ivory, another one of those love songs from the early 70's. And they did some real moves too.

  • i loved them as a teenager made a lot of life changing decisions during this time, junior high school, boyfriends blue light in the basement parties. stinson street baltimore...love you kirky
