I was just having a discussion about this music with some young girls. We expected and got respect from the guys. The young girls today don't expect it and don't get it. Their music is about tapping and slapping and dropping them. I'm glad I'm old school.
Black Ivory and The Delfonics were the groups no one could touch. They sang such beautiful love songs, the words were clear and their voices were so pure--nothing but solid Black Gold music to our ears. Groups don't come like this anymore or ever will again.
them brothas are steppin, i was 8, and luv their asses, this brotha can sing, 2day wannabees, cant fuck with this, sing baby, sing, with ur fine ass, black self
no body was hitting just to show my power hey whats up yes i rodew all the way to new york and yall were mor than perfect gentelmen i hope tis has boost your sales if ot dont worry they so ignorant today its pitiful always love yall lperfect gentelmen with good upbringing
In Harlem, he lived in my building, he was teenager in a group of guys in the development that were about three or four years older than we were. Leroy was a day camp counselor at my church. I also have ran into Stuart a few years ago.
@kpottsful didn't need mics just straight up lung power. if it wasn't for a European station on itunes for me this tune would be stuck on the shelf. thanx to the poster!
Looking at this outfits, I am waiting for a karate movie to start any minute with loon chucks and all. Brother got a sweet falsetto though. Yea, don't turn around--sweet!
Music was music back then. You hear the instruments and the harmonies. I had the biggest crush on Russell! I think this was taped on the tv show, Soul before there was cable.
All y'all talkin bout O rappers don't know and young people don't know grow the hell on up and teach them something then and stop with the same bullsht when I was your age we listened to real music then if you feel that way teach them something otherwise you makin things worse cause then they wanna say they Doin the same thing my dad taught me real music so did my mom grandparents andteachers I'm black- African american and alittle Indian mostly black and I'm 19 grow the fuc up people
All I know is these guys are younger than I am now. Probably younger than Lil Wayne, DEFINITELY younger than JayZ and yet this music carries gravity, vibe and is absolutely fucking beautiful. Somebody mentioned the "vines" or clothes. As much a sign of their individuality as anything. Black Genius!!
This is STEPPING that what they use to call this right here. They can step man listening to this just brings back so many memories. The Vietnam war was still in effect and the weed was the real thing untreated shit. i mean everything was all good as they say . This was one of the cuts every one in the neighborhood who thought they could sing try ed to blow. Much love to who ever posted this and the vines was right their yea the 70's...
Awesome! Man how far has music fallen...especially soul music...it's on an island and there are no escapees... the old school had such sweet harmony...
IT IS FUNNY HOW YOU CAN ASK MOST LATINO'S ABOUT THIS GREAT MUSIC AND THEY KNOW WHO,WHAT ,AND WHERE...BUT ASK A YOUNGER BROTHA' AND HE IS COMPLETELY CLUELESS ABOUT OUR GREAT PAST...WOULD BE NICE IF SOME OF THEM WOULD EDUCATE THEMSELVES AND BRING SOME OF THIS BACK...WHAT A GREAT STYLE AS COMPARED TO WHAT IS THERE NOW..
@MrLeenick1 This is true..lol! Of all my employees..it's the younger Latinos that groove to the music I play in the office (all old school, of course). Most of the young brothers and sisters (save 1 or 2) are like..please no more of that 70s crap... The 70s are over..blah blah..move on... but not my brown brothers and sisters..nope they ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT..and know it all..
I own the first two albums. What a group....unsung.......memories that can not be forgotten by yours truly. BIG UPS for these young harmonically together brothers.

I never got to see these live guys back in the day so this was proof that the could indeed perform the song.
The steps are just plain nasty too! And them triad harmonies ain't either..
