  • I can't buy fucking final cut 7 anymore... so lameeeeeee.. i tried the trial and this thing is a piece of shit...

  • Hey guys,

Im an editor that uses final cut. I make tutorials so if your ever wondering how to do a certain effect just let me know! I would really appreciate if you guys could check out my channel. I really put a lot of effort into my videos and i would really appreciate if more people watched my videos and learned from them! More videos are on the way!

  • Very cute humor.

  • don't stick to 7 or x, switch to premiere.

  • Can someone PLEASE help me?!

I'm a noob at this but basically when I try to play my edited footage, it just plays my original footage from the Event Library on the Canvas, instead of my edited footage from the Timeline. This means I can't see how my footage looks! Also to make matters worse my Playhead has gone to shit! When I select or scroll over footage in my Timeline it doesn't show up on the Canvas...meaning I can't see what I'm doing and I can't edit!

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME??!!

  • MULTICAM, FINAL CUT 7 IMPORT ADDED!!!!

  • Can anyone teach me how to use

  • FCP Rules, LOVE IT!!!

  • FUCK fcpx!!!!!!!!

  • CAn some one answer me. Will final cut pro allow me to make short films that are like, lets say star wars or the new movie chronicles.... Can i create a person throwing a car out of a bride with it? Or is that not movie editing?

  • @M1chelN4v4rro I don't think you know how video editing works...

  • @M1chelN4v4rro You're thinking about CGI not video editing.

  • really like the video not being sarcastic

  • nah there just to welfare to get off there ass's and go buy Motion 5... Some editors you have. They really know how to use final cut X... :S pice of advise go back to filming school LOL

  • no multi-cam- bad..

some of the other stuff.... transitional

all this whining sounds like macho "I LIKE using the hard to use software" bull.

  • LMAO

  • Conaco Productions LLC - thank you for validating my continued dislike of Conan! =)

I like the picking and choosing of which video's to deem "copyright infringement." Everyone who uploaded a video of their favorite actor/actress "interviewed" by Conan will have their video's marked as copyright infringement from YouTube. I'm guessing Conaco supports SOPA?

  • it's soo easy, i have my grandma do my editing projects for me.

  • lmfao im not sure if the program is actually good or not...

  • @JUSTINOMALINO If you want to do pro work, no. No it's not.

  • two words, adobe premiere

  • @tilourlightsburnout I approve, it works wonderfully.

  • The purpose of FCPX is to bring up a new generation of home users who will replace professional editors in the years to come. Once again, technology is used to bust labor.

  • @unclethermo I agree, but the thing is, the software isn't good enough to edit professional movies. You don't understand how much time and effort is used to produce movies. The software is basically iMovie. No professional would use iMovie to edit. Apple is all about making things easy. Apple wants four year olds to know how to edit. There is no "easy" way to edit a great movie. If apple continues, soon two year olds will be flying planes.

  • @unclethermo A new generation should be able to edit footage from new generation cameras like Red, but FCPX doesn't allow this...

Apple isn't for professional, deal with it.

  • lol this hilarious if you're actually an editor.

  • Hahah this is great!

  • If you feel that this video is a real critique of FCP X and it is influencing your next purchasing decision, something is wrong with you. If you didn't get it, it is supposed to be a joke. I'm sure any pro editor and Apple's FCP dev team found this skit quite funny.

  • @bitwised I seriously doubt that, not after the outrage about FCPX and the Adobe Premiere sales. :D

  • Just Sony Vegas Pro!

  • I been getting used to FCPX and it is not as bad as some are saying. It seems to be the best 'one size fits all' editing package on the market. I think formatting it to feel a lot like iMovie and dropping the price will encourage amateurs to take the leap into a higher end editor. I'm not sure that is a bad thing.

  • @AnotherAmateur

It is. Apple is more or less about giving monkeys tools that are dumbed down to the extent that theyr're able to use them.

  • Looks like it is time to switch to Sony Vegas Pro haha!

  • @SonyVegasProEditors

Switching from FCP7 to Vegas is like switching from an M1 Abrams tank to a Moped.

No self respecting post house would touch Vegas with an 300 and a half foot pole.

  • Comment removed

  • @kotcsteveinman

Most production houses only touch tape? People still use tape!?!?

And yes, FCP7 is slow, I'm learning AVID and Adobe right now.

And I absolutely love the editing speed of Apple ProRes.

  • @gorillasocks

Agreed... the only places still using tape are low budget regional tv stations who can buy up old tape cameras on the cheap because everyone else is switching to solid state (and more reliable) storage. Pretty much everything pro nowadays is digital files on SD, CF in the case of HD-CAM's, SSD drives or HDD's

Even the old practice of telecining feature film to tape for an offline edit is 99% defunct, with most editors now just pulling a full 2K or 4K master scan for the edit.

  • @JulianGerretsen Yeah. Uhm...talk to Spike network and ask them what their current tape delivery format is (as within the past week). You'll be surprised who is still using tape.

  • @CineGMitchell Almost all major networks still require tape delivery, I think he was talking about shooting and media for offline.

  • FCPX was just misadvertised as being professional software, they should have never given it the Pro name, huge mistake. Hopefully FCP 8 will be along shortly...

  • Stick to 7. ....."Like this"

  • The Thing is everything they say is right. They yust are not able to use FCPX

  • Why the hell did I go to film school!? Should of just bought a mac with iMovie on steroids!!

  • Coming in early 2012 Multicam Editing Broadcast-Quality Video Monitoring

  • Steve jobs is in hell, Don't kid yourself.

  • Steve Jobs must be laughing his ass form hearing this in Heaven :D

  • Awesome

  • LOL

  • lmfffffffffaaaaaaaaooooooooo

  • HAHAHAAHHAAHHA

  • LOL

  • There are no lock buttons for the sequences in final cut pro x. This feature is great in the previous Final Cut Pro versions.

  • Check out Camera Mount Clamp dot com

  • @robojules & @babinosto :) its a joke. not a good one, but still a joke

  • Wow, their editing has really improved with FCP X. You should have seen the sh*t they were cutting before they got it.

  • They made Final Cut X set up like iMovie, which I've honestly hate. I'd rather go back to Final Cut Pro 7.

  • @TroyTheEditor The new UI makes more sense when you look at the UI used in most OSX applications. FCP7 was using an OS9 era UI. It just needs some getting used to. People whined about OSX when it came out too saying it missed this and that from OS9, but they added things back and improved them, then added new features too. They made a nice solid foundation for the future, just like FCPX is now. It'll improve as time goes on, just give them time.

  • hey if this is a funny video and they did it with final cut pro then it must be a good software!

  • 0:01 HEY APPLE!!

  • i've been using final cut pro x for many years. its great.

  • @cosmicbdog final cut pro x isn't even 4 months pød

  • @cosmicbdog Final Cut Pro X has only been out for several months, you idiot. If you're talking about Final Cut Pro 7, then yes, it's great. As a film editor, FCPX is utter shit though.

  • @RoboJules FCP7 was pretty great. Oh yeah, hi Spunkeez...

  • HAHAHA AWSOME!!!!

  • Epic!!

  • Edius 6 is good for me.

  • am i seriously the only editor out there that actually likes final cut pro x?

  • @decastrofilms I like it just fine. It is the future...people hate change.

  • I don't understand why everyone's being such a whiny little bitch about the new FCP, I mean it works nice for me. FCP 7 wasn't half as nice, in my opinion, but keep being a whiny bitch if you like, I'm not your boss. I love all the crybabies, really. Need a whambulance anyone?

  • Eu achei muito ruim o novo Final Cut Pro X, o nome deveria ser iMovie X! Coisa FEIA isso que a Apple deixou ser vendido!

  • Apple's recent Final Cut incident is so embarrassing for the company I think they'll need to provide their managers with facilities to go and hide away in caves out of shame. But if they keep on with their present attitude it will be proof we live in dangerous times.

  • Outstanding.

  • adobe premiere ftw

  • @R1ProductionHouse Premiere Pro isn't all that popular in Hollywood. Most films are cut with Avid and Final Cut in that order. Same goes with After Effects. Most compositions and effects are made using Nuke and some still use Shake.

  • @TalesOfWar Not for long. I work at one of the biggest studios in the U.S and we are using AE a lot nowadays. BTW, most studios actually use Flame and Smoke :)

Don't sleep on Adobe, they are creeping up. You may be surprised by the future.

  • that must have been fun to edit

  • God i almost crack a laugh at the office hahaha, good one!

  • Sony vegas.

  • and thats why you get the software 100% free from pirate bay. seriously it works, if you want fcpx or fcp 7 free just search on pirate bay

  • Most tv shows cut on Avid

  • @SuperJude I went to a film festival, and most of the entries were also cut on AVID.

  • @pyrogyra72 well thats just it, its a huge lie that most Hollywood movies are edited on final cut pro, what avid programme was the entries edited on, was it the £15k version or the cheaper avid programme?

  • @painsey They never really said. i assume the cheaper version, since these were student films.

  • @painsey It's Avid then Final Cut in that order. Either way, whatever it's edited in, it's almost always done on a Mac, so it doesn't really matter to Apple that they're using their software or not. They make their big profit on the hardware.

  • Seriously. Just use Premiere.

  • @OMGmyFACE Or Avid.

  • @pyrogyra72 I'm willing to compromise, haha. Avid or Premiere. The new FCP X, though? I've heard nothing but problems.

  • PREMIERE!!! WOOOOOOOOOOoEOOEOOEooOEOoOWOooOo

  • rofl, that's good

  • The new interface for Final Cut X is awesome.

  • fcpX has done to editing what the dark ages did to science

  • Aaaaand AVID is back in the game.

  • FCPX is a joke

  • hahahaha. funny i have final cut pro x and i love it but then again i used iMovie before final cut pro x and never used final cut pro 7 which people say its much better, but i love it

  • PREMIERE!

  • LOL!! Way too funny! Adobe is probably laughing too! I'm thrilled that I made the decision to move to Adobe Production Premium years ago.

  • fcp x

  • fcp x !!!!!!

  • I'm one of the biggest Apple fanboys there is, but this is hysterical.

  • Avid must be pretty happy

  • @justfilmit not really, they know FCP X is not complete

  • @alanbstard4 It is complete. Final cut X made it simpler for your Average Joe to do editing. It is not professional at all. They are testing to see if this way makes more money.

  • @justfilmit not according to what they've said, or at least others have said. I shall reserve judgement until I hear one way of the other if they are going to upgrade

They ceertainly are after money as you say

  • @justfilmit The "prosumer" market is far bigger and far more lucrative than the pro market. Pro's are also notoriously adversed to change and stick to the way things have been done for years even when there's better more efficient (and cheaper) ways to do it. The future is digital, Apple see this. Look how popular RED have become in such a short time. Many films will be shot on such cameras as we go forward, and FCPX will be the editor of choice for this kind of stuff.

  • @justfilmit don't for get Adobe with Premiere!

  • MS Paint and Youtube Video Downloader Free. Right? RIGHT?

  • Thank you for making me laugh about this very serious issue and making me feel like I am not crazy and might actually be on the right path

  • I'm not too hip on video editing, but what's a good, simple editing software package to use for a beginner?

  • @divalizzous Final Cut Pro X.. easy

  • @divalizzous Uh, if you're a Macfag final Cut, if you have a real computer i'd say Sony Vegas, it's much easier to learn over Adobe Premiere. However, if you run 64 bit you can't save into a format in Vegas that's compatible with Adobe After Effects, while Adobe Premiere is more difficult to use, it has more functions and can easily transfer projects from Photoshop to Premiere to After Effects, ect.

Lol @ the mad Mac users gunna flame me.

  • @Sylinic lol vegas

avid or premiere, vegas is a joke.

  • @protocollie Well dude, Vegas is much easier to learn and has the basic functions for what most people need.

I use AE / Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / And used to use Audition, but use Reaper now.

  • @protocollie

Actually Vegas pro is widely used by amateurs and professionals alike though I prefer Premiere with after effects.

  • @Sylinic looks like you're outta luck. They don't give a fuck lol

  • @alanbstard4 Wut.

  • @divalizzous Movie maker,iMovie

  • @divalizzous Use what comes with your system. If it's Windows, Movie Maker, if it's a Mac, iMovie. Exhaust the capabilities of these before moving onto something bigger, better and more expensive. No use getting software you won't scratch the surface of until you need the extra power.

  • @TalesOfWar Windows Movie Maker is horrendous, though. : /

  • it's a conspiracy. apple isn't this fucking stupid. or are they? perhaps this streak they had with the ipod, iphone, and ipad were all just luck. back to the early 90's, apple.

  • @iskim86 no, they aren't that stupid, as people will see after all upgrades completed

  • Just hand over the entire video editing game to Adobe. Nicely done, Jobs.

  • Final Cut Studio was the reason I purchased a Mac in the first place because I wanted the best software out there. Apple have now made me think about turning to other software when I "upgrade" because I simply don't want to downgrade to Final Cut Pro X. With so may features being dropped FCP X is not a heavyweight contender in my book any more. I think Apple got one thing right on this putting the ✗ on the end, because they certainly got it wrong this time.

  • @MECcyclingUK you and pro editors don't understand. Apple is not in the business of looking after a few pro editors

How many people using imovie? And DSLR & camcorders. Millions! Technology is being democratized. Apple is right here

technology is cheaper and more widely available to more people. Prosumer products like DSLR use same technology as pro kit. The Pros are coming to DSLR. Now Sony & Pana have released new cheap camcorders to fight DLSR.

Apple know what they are doing

  • @alanbstard4 Being one of the few that followed everyones advice and went to PPro CS5.5, guess what---it CRASHES like crazy!! Can't import a PSD without a crash, and I don't even get a report. lol. So overrated.

  • @TedTheodoreLoganEsqu well there ya go! I have adobe CS5 and not upgraded yet. wait till FCP X is upgraded and finished. It will be brilliant.

I shall wait before I upgrade to CS5.5. Thanks for the advice

  • @alanbstard4 Why should the "democratisation of technology" mean that software gets worse? FCP-X isn't ready yet (bugs, as well as design issues), and Apple is losing credibility because of it. Don't forget a large number of FCP users are amateurs and semi-pros. Maybe V2 will be better, but it needs to be released soon! :-).

  • @TheGrumpstein oh it will be better! Amateurs are using pro gear more and more as technology and pricing brings them together

I have downloaded FCP X because I believe I know what Apple is up to, and this software will be brilliant. I admit they could have done it in a way not to upset people.

    I am keeping my CS5 in case I'm wrong:D

  • @TheGrumpstein FCPX is essentially version 1 of new software, hence the X. Apple shove an X on things that are complete rewrites. OSX for example, when it came out, had people up in arms because it didn't have features found in OS9 or older, but a few versions later people had gotten used to it and they added and improved things and we understood their logic behind the massive change, which turned out to be for the better in the long term. QuickTime X is going through that too, and now FCPX.

  • @alanbstard4 Imovie (Free app with a Mac) is great for everyday video editing. Final cut pro 7 is a market leader and used all over the world by Pro's and consumers alike. So where does this put final cut pro✗ ? Consumers look to the Pro market and if the Pro market migrates what will the consumer do! As for the DSLR and video, we have had video on consumer cameras for a long time but what's driving the current DSLR boom in the market is that it's better than before and the Pro's like it.

  • @MECcyclingUK pros don't drive the market, amateurs do, cos they are in their millions. Technology is driving pro apps& amateur apps together. Apple knows many know imovie already and FCP X will be a pro editing system based on imovie which everyone knows, so no need to learn a new system. Apple will add the pro side soon

Apple made $7billion last quarter. They know what they are doing. The market is their business. Don't listen to pro editors. Their job is to edit & STFU

  • @alanbstard4 Consumers drive the market- THE PEOPLE THAT SPEND MONEY- the very people that bought FCP7 - the Pro market and Pro Consumer! Apples current version FCP✗ has to developed very rapidly to retain this market.

  • @MECcyclingUK I quite agree, and I think they will do it

  • @MECcyclingUK Most studios use the same software for years. Infact, it's common in most industries for companies to move to the current version of software only when the next one is announced and given a release date. In the graphic design field it's pretty much the norm to for example buy CS4 as Adobe announce a release date for CS5, as by this time the previous version is generally as stable and bugless (lol, bugless Adobe software) as it'll ever be. Companies don't run out to get the latest.

  • @TalesOfWar The features in FCP 7 are pretty extensive and allow an editor to work and change things pretty much as they want. FCP✗ has some pretty gimmicky features which would be more fitting to an upgrade for IMOVIE. In comparison FCP✗ lags well behind the competition. Apple have lost their edge in producing market leading software. You can edit using any software, it's when you want to fine tune the project that you really need all the features of Pro software and FCP✗ does not have them.

  • @MecCreativeStudio A lot of the features people were complaining about not being there were actually there, just in different places. Right now it isn't as feature rich as FCP7, but this is a "reboot" so to speak. It's starting from square one again. They rewrote the entire thing from the ground up to take full advantage of all the modern hardware and software features found in todays Macs, it's a solid foundation for the future. Give them a few versions and it'll be kicking ass again.

  • @TalesOfWar What happened to Colour, DVD Pro, Cinema Tools, Soundtrack Pro, Multi-cam editing, and a host of features too. Everyone agrees (Including you) that FCP✗ is lacking many of it's predecessor great features. If Apple are really that good why have they put an unfinished product out on the market? would you buy an unfinished house? It's not what you say you will do that count's, it's what you do! If I were making a purchase right now it would not be FCP✗ I don't trust Apple right now.

  • @alanbstard4 that's one of the dumbest thing's I've ever read.

  • @Masterstarkx Oh really. What qualifies you to give an opinion? Please don't say pro editor as they aren't the qualifications that count

  • We used this as an excuse to switch to Adobe Premiere, as it is nicely integrated into the rest of the CS5 suite of Adobe Products.

On the next hardware upgrade, we'll also be able to get similar hardware from big-box brands with smaller profit margins on their products and no longer be tied to only the few items available in the Mac lineup.

  • Never used anything more than a Windows Movie Maker but this video still is hilarious xD

  • Should Apple call it iMovie Pro instead of Final Cut Pro X? The interfaces are much like iMovie while Final Cut Pro interfaces are not. I've read many websites and seen many clips on YouTube about "Final Cut Pro X" causes so many confusions to many Final Cut Pro editors because they don't want to spend times, moneys, and effforts to learn and master the new software while they have been experiencing and mastering the Final Cut Pro for years. I hope Apple team will release a new Final Cut Pro 8.

  • Premiere CS 5.5 is the way to go. And made by the exact same company that makes After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.... It is the end of an era. Goodbye Final Cut Pro.

  • Best video editing software on Mac

Grab it directly on the Mac App Store

    bit.ly/final-cut-pro

  • @applestoreapps Nope, best video editing on a Mac is Avid MC. Grab it on the Avid site for $950, and you can be safe in the knowledge that Avid won't making stupid changes to their programe, ever!

  • 26 people didn't watch the video and thought the editors actually liked fcpx lmao

  • irony : cause FCPX doesn't have a built in bars\tone generator

  • Adobe and Avid just came out with 50% and 60% discounts for FCP owners... Don't miss your chance!

  • Hopefully, the next version of final cut pro will be better.

  • Apple doesn't make enterprise products, and they never have. Adobe being such a faithful partner with them in the 90s is the only reason Macs still have such a large present in the professional world. When will people wake up? Get Adobe products running on PCs, you can have 30-50% better performance on a PC for the same price AND get Mercury Playback Engine, which is amazing. Final Cut Pro is not even close to being as good, in the real world. Set biases aside, people.

  • I would be still working in Premiere if not Hollywood snobbism towards PCs in general. If Apple is going to quit on us like that, it is Avid/Premiere all the way, and - hey - I don't have to buy any more Macs!

  • Comment removed

  • Final Cut Pro X - Everyone just switched to Adobe Premiere.

  • FCP7 Ftw

  • nice

  • I'm not saying AE is bad I just prefer Motion. AE just seems muc more labor intensive than Motion

  • @p0ps1c1e Oil Painting is much more labor intensive than drawing with crayon too. Doesn't make crayons better.

  • @teakjosh I never said AE is bad I just said I prefer Motion. Damn why are you guys all so defensive

  • I'm just going to wait and see. According the the FAQ on the apple website they are going to fix the XML problem, the multicam, and a bunch of other stuff. The only question is are they going to pull a dick move and charge for those updates too.......

  • @p0ps1c1e of course not you idiot

  • After Effects FTW

  • Hahaha, that was great!

  • Call me weird but I made money from an edit within two hours of downloading FCPX from the App Store. Client loved it.

  • I'll gladly stick with FCP 7.

  • Hahahaha That was GREAT ! :D

  • Hahahaha

    I'm sticking with 7!

  • „ ... iTunes and iMovie, all right inside FCPX ...” (c;

  • Orwellian-Lies, surveillance, and manipulation of the past in the service of a totalitarian agenda... Yes, I'm talking about Apple. Ironic, because the 1st Mac was introduced in the 1984 ad using the allegory of the new Apple Macintosh computer to provide an inspirational creative spark that would free individuals from the overbearing control of "Big Brother"... or should we say the "Big Apple"?... Why did you lie to me Apple, I trusted you, and you back stab me like that....
