The Marine Corps Security Force Regiment is a dedicated security and anti-/counter-terrorism unit of the United States Marine Corps. @warspitejr Actually, you're wrong. FAST is not a training exercise, it's a unit in the Marine Corps. It stands for Fleet Antiterrorist Security Team. There are several FAST Companies attached to various units around the globe. This video just happens to show them training.
when i was in fast co in 2001-03 we were always on the range, gas chamber, standing guard, or practicing standing guard and setting up a security perimeter. and than we got a new major. and as i was leaving i heard the training got a lot better. i was with 1f3
it's half and half. sometimes guys will get selected to stay in FASt and do it their whole enlistment. but it's usually only for nco's. and that's gay anyways. you'll be counting down the days that you get out of FAST
MP(Military Police)- They are the police officers of the Army, they can do anything from directing traffic, to dealing with crimes inside the US Military, to patroling a street, however they are not considered special forces since they focus in conventional warfare.
SF(Special Forces)- The US special forces can be found in all branches, recently they have started to allow direct recruiting of civilians, their duties can be recon, gathering intel, or hostage rescue, they focus on unconventional.

Not really not F.A.S.T marines, regular grunts to F.A.S.T rope or do as much cqb man. Regular grunts are more likely to get shot considering that they have a 100 times more likely chance of getting deployed to afganistan or iraq, F.A.S.T marines job is extreamly important
im joining security forces, its pretty much guarding naval ports nuclear missiles and stuff, but if you have a first class PFT and no previous record you can try out for FAST which is what im doing which is not sitting around at all, well a little but hardly

POGs? FAST is made up of 99% grunts. Having commanded both LAR platoons and a FAST platoon I will tell you that FAST has MUCH better training. We can not help it if we do not get employed often. We have two totally different missions. FAST serves in Iraq and potentially in any other country in the world. They train hard and deploy often. instead of knockin it, try it.
