Just found your video .. can I ask is this soft glass or boro you're working with please. I've jsut got some of these in soft glass and wasn't sure how to warm them up before use? Also did you anneal before you made the loop?
@shineonlampie I use boro in all my vids. You can use soft glass too although it might work a little differently. You will want to heat soft glass slower to prevent it from breaking. I add the loop immediately after blowing and then anneal.
Well, you'll love this. I have a 16" section of fence post that I drilled 1/4" holes in. I use it to put freshly pulled points and things like the ornaments in it upright so that the glass cools evenly. If you lay it on a surface it will chill one side and introduce strain. So this lets it air cool evenly. An ornament doesn't take long to cool because the glass is thin. Maybe 5 minutes. Points can take 20 minutes. It all depends on the volume and thickness of the glass. Hope this helps.
that is awesome, I will have to go start drilling holes immediately.
I have some wire bread racks that I turn upside down they sit about 2" off my table and I use them to hold hot tools I should be able to weave point of the ornament into the wire to hold it up...(just another idea)thanks a bunch hopefully I can get a good video posted of the ornaments when finished!!!

Thanks so much for all your wonderful videos! Do you anneal the ornaments in a kiln?

@azschneid I anneal pretty much everything including ornaments. Ornaments are so thin they probably don't need annealing but I do it anyway.

It's not as much frit as it appears. A 4 oz container would make abut 20 of these I'd guess.
You haven't made many videos lately. When are we going to see more?
