Awesome! Elvis may be the King of old style rock and role, but he's also really good as a country singer, on level with Johnny Cash, Weylon Jennings, Don Williams, and others!
I grew up on Elvis, yes I'm an old man, I'm from Kentucky, Elvis was born Jan. 8th, I was born Jan 9th. I have seen the girls in the audience watch him, and have never seen any girls literally faint all over the audience from any other performer, because of the love they had for him. He had it all. I have never seen any performer connect with their audience like Elvis did. He did die of a broken heart, regardless if it was drugs or not. There will never be another Elvis. God Bless Elvis
@xxxdokan Are you talking about your yard guy, De Jesus Hernandez? But the real Jesus is all our fans... and like I sais 'The Kang wasn't badd either. He worked the crowds.
This song is about this college girl of the University of Kentucky who left him for a Florida Gator football player. On their bedroom wall was left a sad but never ending message that later killed the fella.
wish there were more people that could have a significant voice and leave something of the same as elvis did. almost noone anymore listens to elvis. its to bad. elvis will always be the king.
God blessed him with so much talent. He knew that, but like so many of us we're not sure the direction to go. I can only be sure of the Bible's truth. That God's mercy is greater than we could ever imagine.
@DaGr8Taz No. Artist Management companies do it all the time. Which is what this sounds like. The quality is about par for the time this was performed, and is much better than a bootleg version would be.
great...he takes an great Eddie Rabbitt lyric and diss's the 'OLD MEN' for 'fools' and he can't recover from laughing. A great song, but he mashes it up. Elvis, I miss ya, but have some respect....
Interesting statement after the song. "Tough way to make a living." His sarcasm tells me that he had to make a living and watched his parents make a living before all his fame. You know, I think after he got out of that hollywood bs and went back on stage, he related to the audience that he performed for. You never forget where you come from.
Good question. Peter Guralnick's books on Elvis are very interesting and answer many questions. I got the feeling he was a shy, insecure kid from a small town and poor background who didn't have many real and true friends. When he really started to question his life, through reading books and looking for other answers by going outside his little group, the Colonel got the group to talk Elvis out of such influences. A lonely life.
I think It´s almost Impossible to get a hold of this record were I live or maybe it´s sold out or something you can´t get It In ordinary stores I´ll have to settle with listening on youtube I guess
