Ecomomy class passengers prefer the A380 as it's economy seats are wider thanks to it being 20 inches wider than the 747. Don't get me started on first class.

The airlines prefer the A380 as it has more seats and burns less fuel than the 747.

People living near airports prefer the A380 as it's quieter than the 747.

Passengers and airlines don't care what the outside of it looks like. The passengers will be inside the plane... not sitting on the wings. It's what's inside that counts.

I guess it's meet the King, The A380 sets a world standard for the lowest Co2 emission/per/passenger and operation affordability. I think the designers took the 'best of' from Boeing aircraft & were able to go one step forward. This is the age of economy travel were it is most desired to build cost effective & practical aircraft - spacecraft. The old 'gas guzzling Thunderbird day's' were Concords, Space shuttles, Hovercrafts, and the like are not practical by their physics nor their economics!

the 747 his landing speed is 170 Knots

the A380 is only 138 Knots (while the 737 is 145)

so a A380 can land on short runeway's.

i would think a A380 looks like a Albatros Btw. Still they wont make bigger plane until they redifine the jet engine technolagy

more passengers , so you can have one daily long international flight to a destination instead of two, saving fuel , manpower and money .  If you are going from Los Angeles to Sidney you don't care much if your flight is at 3 pm or 9 pm. so people from both flights can be consolidated in one at 6 pm. get it ?

It sort of looks like a whale with wings. One of the worst aesthetically designed planes I have ever seen. I wouldn't fly on this thing if they gave me a free first class ticket.

Boeing engineers a much better plane with a much better design. The A-380 - 3-5-3 configuration sucks and I would hate to fly in this thing for more than 2 hours. Imagine being stuck on the tarmac in this thing on a hot summer day. A load of Asian souls is lot different than a load of average 6' Americans.

what r u talkin about? the A380 is the fastest bird out there, it cruises at .89 while the 747 will do .87. The 747-8i is practically a strech of the '88 747-400 (which is based in the '69 747-100), that's why the new 747-8 doesn't have fly-by-wire and other stuff that the A380 and dreamliner are incorporating.

It can take off and land at slower speed with less runway then a 747 and outclimb it.Its speed is approx same as one of a 737/A320 ;lower speeds are always a gain in security.
