Dude, the specs of this little baby are pretty horrible compared to the more recent Eee PC's. I can't help but feel a little skeptic about how smoothly WoW runs on this older version. Does WoW really require so little of your system's resources?
hey i got the exactly same eee pc as u but i havnt got a real desktop i got a blue screen with tabs up the top saying like internet, learn, work, play and shit lyk that, how i gget a real desktop?
I copied WoW to and external hardrive to my asus eee 1000h, and played it but im only getting 5fps.. Would i get more if i actually installed it rather than copying the folders? Thanks, Dustin
On open areas you can achieve 25-30fps,otherwise in detailed and crowded places you will fall down to just a few frames, which is not so bad when you're supposed to get from point A to B.
vista is a horrible ram hog, my says that vista anf my internal gfx card are currently stealing about 600mb of my 2 gb, btw what fps and lat did you get
no new but im getting a different 1 it has 2 nvida geforce 9400 graphics cards 1 with 512 mb of ram and the other gots 1g plus the computer itself has 1gb of ram
it will def lag. cuz even tho those games take up exactly 512 mb ram, your Operating system (Windows XP, Linux, Ubuntu, Vista etc..) takes up some of the ram. so it would lag terribly. Vista is a RAM hog.
yeah im egttin 2 gbs (my max mb of 2048) installed and im gettin a Nvidia GeForce 5500 256 mb card, right now i play on a trial lol and it kicks me off and screen goes blue b/c i have the integrated 512, i cant wait to upgrade!
one guy from a different video clip said that you could change the resolution to any size you want on the registration... i tried mine but i don't seem to find the option for adjusting the resolution...still running on 800x600 resolution...how i wish someone could give an easier way to solve this without hacking the bios. I just love my eee pc so much that I won't make some risky MODs.
There's a pretty comprehensive guide in the official eeepc manual. It requires an external dvd drive. There are methods for installing from a usb flash drive, check out the eeeuser wiki.
The Eee is running Windows XP, so i just copied over the World of Warcraft install directory from my desktop machine to the laptop's external hdd and ran it directly from there, after editing the config file to force the game to the correct resolution.
I actually realised after recording this that i had restarted my Eee and forgotten to clock the CPU back up, so it was running at the default 630mhz. When i did up it to 900, it ran even better - 30fps average when questing, and staying above 10fps in busy cities. :-)
hey i have win xp pro on mine and a 500gb external usb 2.0 hard rive and a usb 2.0 dvd drive for my eee pc and i want to install wow and burning crusades on it but how can i clock my eee pc to 900mhz?? please help me

game plays so much nicely if you turn settings all down/off and cap the fps. I got WoW running nicely on wine.

U think i can put WoW on a FTP server and play on one of these?
FredrikEastling 3 years ago
sounds challenging...
IgorGiganskiANtiatom 3 years ago
Put it on a shared network drive insteed. And if your not connected to the network that you want to play from, use a VPN.

You can change WoW's resolution to 800x480 by editing 3 digits in World Of Warcraft/WTF/Config.wtf

haworths4eva, you do not need more ram. look on the back of the WoW box it says a min of 512 ram is needed

Google "eeectl" - that small utility will let you dynamically alter your cpu speed and monitor temperature.
