No you get it from collecting these legendary pieces you have to go in Ulduar 40 times to get all pieces if you think you can get ashbringer your just foolish it is not able to get, Sulfuras, Hammer of Ragnaros is only abble if someone have the blacksmith recipe + the 2pieces of enchant so "Nukeswe" your a fool.

enzotreny is a noob, the mace is going to be pretty dam amazing, not becuase of the spell power like he thinks in his scrub world, but the shield effect it puts on the target when the target recieves healing. when you gain the buff the mace gives to the wielder, it grants you the ability to give 15% of the healing you do on your target as a damage shield, stacking up to 20k shield. So gg nub (over reacting i know)

the mace aint that good, because ive just seen the patch items for 3.2 the pvp items are much better like the maces give 702 spell power...this mace only gives like 598, and yet ice crown citadel isnt out, so this mace will not be THE best mace of all

the only items that stop dropping at a certain point are event items

this is just the best healing item around atm doesnt mean its anything special so long as patches dont remove the quest for combining the pieces itll always be around!!

Technically, even though this is a very nice mace, it is not the best healing item. The only thing that makes this mace better is its bubble on a heal. I forgot the name of the mace but I will attempt to find the item in the next comment.

I remember what it was like getting atiesh, that was 40 shards though, aswell as a quest to bind all that crap together with the pommel and whatnot. 30 shards that are a drop on a heroic-hard mode should take quite a while. I presume that whoever gets the first shard for this on my guild will be the top prio to get the other shards aswell. I doubt this will be the kind of stuff you see everyone running around with. It will take probably over 10-15 runs minimum to get this mace

they have a low chance of dropping from every boss in ulduar (mostly), hard mode bosses have a slightly higher chance, its dropped by yogg 100% ( i think )...

this is indeed a healing mace, as shown on Mmo-champion, it has a chance on heal to cast a shield on your target that absorbs 15% of the amount healed.  as a moonkin im glad they have this, to eliminate this dps mace vs. heal mace controversy.

It's likely to be a healing mace, though unconfirmed.

You must collect 40 fragments, each with a chance to drop off a Ulduar boss (Like Atiesh in Naxx 40) and accept a quest where you then procced to (presumably) kill Yogg Saron and throw the pieces into his brain, where you then obtain it.

Chances for this being healing mace is slim. Remembering Atiesh? That was split in 4 parts, 1 per class. Considering the skills blizzard had gained, they have made it to a quest-item probably, making it able to get it as a tanking item too, if you're paladin, or melee/caster DPS if you're shaman.

The hammer itself is not dropped by Yogg himself but you have to gather 40 fragments of Val'Anyr, then combine them and accept the quest in the Archivium. At which point you have to toss it into his brain. Comes out forged as Val'anyr, Gavel of the Ancient Kings.
