The backing on this song sounds very similar to RISE from Ghost in the Shell, guess Yoko Kanno felt like this style still had some life in it. Thankfully, Megumi Nakajima is just as talented a singer as Origa, if not moreso. Still, I do like the other one better, this one feels just a bit weird

There are plenty of better choices, it just depends on the genre you are looking for. Keep in mind that anime exists since to long that nowdays there are songs that are said to be legendary. But then again, it depends on genres. The only thing that comes to mind atm that would be similar to this is Voices, from Macross Plus iirc. However, just looking at Yoko Kanno's discography I'm pretty sure you'll find better stuff. Frontier is awesome, but by no means her best work.

The language might be Vajira language vocalized since the original song was sung by Vajira. It might just be the same thing. We aren't really sure since both Zentradi and Vajira languages are made up and have no actual background.
