Of course he fought for civil rights as president but some believe only b/c he could no longer ignore the issue. Also, aside from the dixie-crats, Republicans had more against the civil rights act than the Dems. Besides, this was mainly a liberal agenda (civil rights) as were all other civil liberty movements before. Conservatives always fought tooth and nail against progress.

Also, the basic definitions of "Republican" have changed 100 times over since the Civil War, since the party was original the Democratic-Republican party and they ran against the Federalists. However, Liberals usually do so in a positive manner, giving other races higher priority over their own (mostly due to the history of white abuses). However, Conservatives consistently test high in "negative" racism, that is considering other races inferior to their own. Also, Liberals have less respect for the individual because we tend to be less naive.

Of course he fought for civil rights as president but some believe only b/c he could no longer ignore the issue. The senate filibuster of the Civil Rights Act 1964 was organized by Democrats including Al Gores daddy, J. William Fullbright (Bill Clintons metor). If you would like more names I have them.

Also, aside from the dixie-crats, Republicans had more against the civil rights act than the Dems. Besides, this was mainly a liberal agenda (civil rights) as were all other civil liberty movements before. Conservatives always fought tooth and nail against progress.

Also, the basic definitions of "Republican" have changed 100 times over since the Civil War, since the party was original the Democratic-Republican party and they ran against the Federalists. This is why George Washington warned against a two-party system. And the Confederalists were not Democrats. They were Confederalists.

Actually, he's wrong. A racist thinks his race to be superior to all others. Since liberals tend to believe that minorities need, and from what I see, they think they will always need, help from the government. However, Liberals usually do so in a positive manner, giving other races higher priority over their own (mostly due to the history of white abuses). However, Conservatives consistently test high in "negative" racism, that is considering other races inferior to their own. Without government intervention men will not behave themselves or treat others ethically and humanely, on a whole. @syqnys Anybody who uses this "3/5ths of a person" statement lacks a fundamental understanding of the Constitution. This assignment of 3/5ths is an accounting issue, not a "personhood" issue. This was how the respective states could count their slaves for the purposes of the census. Northern states, where slaves were virtually nonexistent, did not want slaves counted at all. Southern states wanted to count them the same as white people. 3/5ths was a political compromise. Class dismissed.

All his is claiming is that given an individual is a racist, that individual is most likely affiliated with the republican party versus an independent party, or the democratic party.
