VERY BAD NEWS!!!!...Latest news as of March 19 indicates that hundreds of new complaints are being logged by Toyota vehicle owners whose cars were recalled and repaired. After the repairs they experienced suden acceleration incidents again and NHTSA is investigating (that's all they do, investigate ...but never do anything about it).

Something that is being completely overlooked is THAT CHRYSLER ALSO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM that has been happening for years. I have two videos on it and was just contacted by someone in a newer Dodge RAM that accelerated full throttle on its own and crashed into a pole. Chrysler won't even investigate the issue!

SUA is just "one" of Chryslers issues and I was pointing out Toyota isn't the only one. Chrysler has more serious defects that affect far more people.

As to the SUA in question, forums are where many people do turn for help and is an indication it is probably happening if there are quite a few people posting about it. I've seen several automobile defects where complaints hit Forums before even hitting the NHTSA.

I'm sure before the whole Toyota thing, some people who experienced SUA were also asking around forums trying to find if others experienced the same thing.

Now keep in mind a recall is a safety related defect (not wear related) or an emission-related defect.

So things like suspension components brake wear, tire wear are not in that category. They don't suddenly die, they're always a warning ALWAYS.

Know what? I did exactly that. nhtsa, then searched Chrysler defects. Do youi know what I found? There's been a few cases of children strangling themselves on power windows, This is the reason most cars have a power window control override. Obviously not being used in that case.

If you have a direct link to back up your claims, please show them. I do search the available information. I do my research. It seems you obviously don't do yours.

Audi went thru this a while back... 60 Min special just about ruined Audi for a time. It ended up being bullshit. People are so stupid... If this happened to me in any car.. I would have the good sense and reactions to pull it out of gear, or turn off the ignition, or just step on the brakes... any car even a Corvette cannot overcome the power of its brakes.

I praise Toyota for actually reacting to this and pulling the cars till they figure it out... instead of covering it up.

Toyota was so stupid trying to blame the floormats. It was clearly an inherent problem with their drive-by-wire system.

this is why I drive an 18 year old car. older cars are so much better than cars today because they aren't burdened with all this over engineered technology that causes more problems than it solves. Pedals connected to real wires that actually open and close the throttle is the way it should be. Trusting everything to computers is the most idiotic thing to do.

I wouldnt put my faith in any car company today. all car makers today use drive-by-wire, so the problem could potentially occur in any car. When you push down on the pedal, you arent actually the throttle with a cable; you're activating a computer than decides what to do.

Electronic throttle control is just a method to add cost to a vehicle and another part to break / malfunction.

We have automatic locks, windows, truck release, and what next.. automatic @ss wiping done by your car. All these "luxuries" just make your vehicle cost more to purchase and more to repair. I've heard of people spend $100 - $200 just to repair 1 window motor.

If he shifted into any gear while the engine was racing and/or the car was in motion the transmission would have been destroyed.  No way he would have made it even a 1/4 mile down the road like that.

Coming to a stop from 65mph in neutral does not cause smoking brakes. The guy claims to go from D at 65, to N at unknown coast speed, back to D, into dealer.

Many people put their car into neutral on purpose at speed and coast to conserve on gas, I believe they are called hypermilers. As a teen I used to do it for fun, I would pop my car into neutral and coast into town a mile away.
