  • Yep all comes down to the maitenance. Oh yeah how do you feather an engine? I have heard of feathering props but not engines. Get ya facts right. These are not bad aircraft, all series of Dash 8's I mean.

  • Nobody died right? At least I hope so that nobody died

  • that's right no-one died :D

  • Very probably the accident at Buffalo was, unfortunately, a human error. Let's wait the conclusion of investigations before saying the plane is a "piece of crap".

  • We let this palne keep flying because they ahve fixed the problems and we need this plane in the market for airline Feeders like continental connect, express,Horizon air and numorous european airlines.

  • Guess what type of airplan JUST crashed into a residential part of town in Buffalo killing all on board ? I've flown these planes for years and Ive never heard of a more troublesome aircraft than the "CRASH-8" Ground 'em all turn 'em to scrap!

  • I totaly 100% agree with you! Why do we let this plane keep flying !

  • Because it's a safe plane. It had problems with landing gear in the past but it doesn't mean it's a bad plane!

  • No ofcourse breaking landingear, lights that go on and of in cockpit, lack of alarm functions for failed attempt to engage autopilot....It doesent´make it a bad airplane... just a airplane I don´t wan´t to fly with !!!

  • I don't know, i'm not a pilot. It's true it had several problems with landing gear, the last one on February 13th, 2009

  • That was a realy crapy plane. Its so nice, SAS isn´t flying them anymoore ! Good call. I feel so much safer in the boeing 737 !

  • why wouldn't they feather the engine to prevent destruction of the engine

  • lol to be honest they had enough problems without feathering an engine. and it would have broken whatever they did.

  • It's known for being a troublesome aircraft!!!

  • It would be nice to see people not paint a whole group "dangerous" just because one A/C has an issue on landing. Shit like this happens every day somewhere to someone. Important thing is ; no one hurt, and aircraft is repairable.

  • SAS Airlines just spent $880 million to order 27 new Bombardier planes today, March 10, 2008. They knew that complaining about a maintenance problem within thier own airline was not doing their reputation any good. Dirty hydraulic fluid with bit of plastic and dirt in it is not good for the landing gear. The service crew has been sent to Siberia, naked, for reprogramming of their brains. If that don't learn them, nothing will...lol

  • SAS decided complaining was doing no good for their reputation and today dropped all compliants against Bombardier and spent $880 million to order 27 new Bombardier planes. With options, the order could be as much as $1.2 billion. There was dirty hydraulic fluid in the landing gear as well as bit of plastic. Tyrolian Airlines was one of the first in the wolrd to order this plane ( Dash 8 )has been flying the short version of this Q400 for 15 years and they have never had a landing gear problem.

  • Well, actually, according to wikipedia, they just had a small incident on february 13th 2009, when the landing gear "failed to retract" after take-off...

  • Hahaha.... Thats wiklipedia for you.

You can fill books with whats not there.

  • So why did the SAS flight chief say that they have had more problems with the Q400 than any other plane?

And why have there been crash landings in Vilnius, Japan and Albania also?

  • The Q4 is a far from dangerous airliner. It is as good as it gets. I have flown on them over 100 times and they have jet speed with great operating costs. Very quiet inside always a great ride. I dont know if the wires got crossed between SAS and Bombardier but Horizon and other airlines flying them have a fantastic safty record. Some airline is going to get a great buy of SAS. I wish I could buy them an airline can make a great profit off flying them up too about 600 miles.

  • Why is Porter Air still flying these dangerous planes out of Toronto?

  • It's known for being a troublesome aircraft!!!

  • hey jeg er den første til at kommetere!!!! skriv til mig plz..:P

  • "Dash-8 kend den på knækket" har jeg ret eller har jeg ret
