  • i'm sorry, their just train tracks, unless you're a complete dolt then you'll be fine.

  • To this day, my mother is still terrified by train tracks...

  • there are other versions of this you know

  • "Contains content from: APM Music." Would that happen to be the opening theme, "Let's March" by Syd Dale? I know that was DEFINITELY a KPM library cue; I have the MP3 of it!

  • THHATS HIS SISTER!!!! i thought that was a boy

  • @comentsuscribeonly Ha thats what I thought! not even kidding! :)

  • He's wearing a red shirt, it was inevitable.

  • bert was a bit of a wanker

  • "I saw them do it to get across to the pub" Typical.

  • Cut off at the best part! *jk*

    Short shorts...guys shouldn't wear them.

  • Why does Robbie wear bootyshorts?

  • MY NAME IS ROBBIE!!!

  • Good old PIF type fllm from back in the day. Not very politically correct though, "why use words like 'The Nick' and 'Coppers'?

  • i got run over by car it changs my life i wish i wad dead ????????

  • robbies bro is a retard

  • if i am robbie i should not accept the dare!

  • I do think 'Finishing Line' is better, but this is still good :)

  • lol Robbie has a Bowlcut!!!!

  • i don't know why, but I just don't trust people with purves in their last name.

  • I have found a copy on 16mm film of "Killing Time". It is really shocking and features photographs of bodies on railway lines. I hope to get it transferred to video soon and I will post it on here. Keep a look out for the film on my channel.

  • Where is this rail system with automatic signals and smooth comfortable rides? As it sure as hell isn't in Britain.

  • I now have 'Robbie' and 'The Finishing Line' on DVD, but I can't find any information or clips on 'Killing Time' except that it was released in 1992 and was written by Sue Read and narrated by Tom Conti. I may have seen it as a kid (I was 10 in 1992) but can't remember as we were shown loads of different PIF's.

  • my sister has seen killing time at school.i never saw this or finishing line as a child, but we didn't live near railway lines either!

  • I'm sorry, but to me this just isn't Robbie without Cheggers narrating.

  • "But SOCCER came out on top"

Soccer? What the hell man!? You're British...right? o.O Communist!

  • To ProdigsProductions, 'Soccer' comes from 'Association Football'.

There were, and still are, many types of football games originating from England, the most common being Association Football (Football / Soccer), and Rugby Football (Rugby).

The word 'soccer' is an English invented word from the 1800s.

  • @geography27 Thanks, I honestly feel quite ignorant now. I'll be sure to use that arguement for my, unforunetly, too patriotic friends who get mad whenever the word is uttered.

  • Natural Selection at its finest.

  • "playing hippos in the mud" - knew how to enjoy themselves in the 70's!

  • Thanks, a useful film, clear, to the point, although some of the facts are now out of date of course. Nice to see a film without added drum beats that drown out the sound, and without over eager camera operators, constantly fading in and out and blurring the picture. Much appreciated.

    Oldrocker

  • thats a rare clip of the EPT there

  • @ShaurntheSheep

Ah, bollocks to Robbie! That shot of the APT cruising along @ 3:30 - magnificent. Nearly brought a tear to my eye. lol! Depressing to think what happened to British Rail's groundbreaking 'oh so nearly' Tilting Train.

  • 2:11

Cor, I want to go and climb there!

  • Are the electric rail line versions of "Robbie" available on home video or anything that's viewable?

  • the way robbie is written at the start is scary as shit

  • The chipper intro music makes the film all the more sinister.

  • For fans of jaunty music, Robbie's theme tune is a library piece called 'Let's March' by Syd Dale - and dates from 1966.

  • Gotta love that 1960s/1970s KPM music! Got quite a collection of the stuff

  • that tune is cheesy.

  • Nice! I wonder what the KPM cue at 2:48 is called? Sounds really neat :)

  • what happens in the second version??

  • From what I heard, Robbie's soccer shoes are tossed onto an electrical train power line, and Robbie tries to retrieve them with a metal pole but gets the shock of his life.

  • Memories! They used to do a thing called S.P.L.A.A.T. Safe Play At All Times when we were kids in the 80s. Had to go do all sorts of activities with the Police, then be told how we nearly died.

  • oh, i remember SPLAAT, but i saw it in the noughties. some kids were playing mario on the game boy in the film! :D

  • Hope the third rail version gets uploaded soon!

  • Unfortunately JonLovejoy DOESN'T have all three versions, only THIS version.

  • d'oh! You already answered all my questions in your side bar info box thing, sorry !

  • Am i correct in think that there are 3 versions of Robbie? They replaced " The Finishing Line " in being shown in schools around the country? I definitely remember being shown "Robbie" in assembly one day in my Junior School...

  • Classic..Viv off Emmerdale as the WPC !.I Felt sorry for the mum and her sons footy boots returned. There was nothing as good as e bay back then to get rid !

  • I used to take this film around the schools many years ago (I know every word of it!!!) Thanks for sharing it

  • ANY CHANCE OF PUTTING UP KILLING TIME?

  • his name is Peter Purves...sounds like Perves!

  • Oh my God I never thought I'd see this again. Thanks for posting!!!

  • Cliffhanger!!

  • Thanks for posting this! I remember watching this through my fingers as a kid in school on those old projector reels!! Love the way this part ends at the crucial point!!

  • Flying banana Inter City 125!!!

  • I'm sitting here screaming at the kid to let go of his shoes...I swear!

  • I don't have that one.

  • when do u think you'll have the one which shows the danegrs on electrified railways? because i think this is the one on the dangers of non-electrified railways.
