When I say people don't have the right to post whatever they want on my channel, I mean that literally. The 1st Amendment of the Constitution limits the ability of the *government* to restrict speech. My deleting comments isn't censorship since I am not the government and you are free to post negative comments elsewhere.
Rachel is the Best- It's too bad too many Conservative Republican Elected Leaders or Would be leaders don't have the nerve to appear on her show to be interviewed as Rachel may be the best interviewer in the business she is fair but tough so when she ask a question she expects a answer not a run around
She's exactly right! Being in the closet sucks. I came out to myself long ago but 'm afraid of publicly coming out. I'm afraid everyone will treat me or look at me differently.
Agree or disagree with Rachel's politics, she is a good and brave person. Those who hate her because she is a lesbian deserve the scorn of all humanity. Those who hate her because of her politics? Realize the same goodness and bravery she showed by coming out is the reason for her political leanings. She may be wrong, but she is still worth hearing.
With all that goes on in the world, why give anyone a hard time about whom they have chosen to love? You don't have to think about what they do in their private moments. We all have the freedom to chose our life partner. Condemning someone who chooses their partner is just wrong! People judge because it make them feel righteous about them selves.
I love your comment about why you are blocking the haters from posting. Thank you for that. <3 Rachel is a role model. I have come to learn that coming out is a process that repeats itself over and over. Every time i meet new people or start a new job, there is always the moment of coming out again. This has been a continued struggle for me. I wouldn't say it gets easier, but I would say that I get stronger every time and more solid in who I am.
I just love Rachel, she is inspiration, not just as a lesbian but just as a human role model she is quite marvellous and intelligent and a positive force in every way...
I wonder 50 years back peoples reaction to equal rights for women would be same as it is for gays. I am glad we have gone that far but dissappointed at the reluctance of having equal rights for every one, also at the hypocrisy of wanting equal rights for oneself and fighting viciously to deny the same to others.People would love a dog but hate a fellow human just for having a different sexual orientation.I am ashamed at my hetero community for allowing such an injustice to happen.
Rachel MARRY ME! My heterosexuality is a non-issue, and I would seriously dump my boyfriend for you. There need to be intelligent people like her in the world. Rachel Maddow is truly a hero among heroes.
INCREDIBLE. She's so right. It's much better to be out in terms of quality of life and for your community. I have such a hard time with deciding who to tell and who not to. I feel like as a femme it's even harder because nothing about you says gay. Sometimes its nicer to have the clothes you're wearing and the length of your hair say it for you, so you don't have to say it out loud.
She's an amazing individual...very smart anf funny but serious when needed...she is going places that in my opinion Gay people have an issue attaining...because of her verve and moxy...
As a gay guy who came out only a few months ago, and who only came to terms with being gay shortly before that, this is one of the closest things I've heard to my coming out experience. At one point, I just realized that I had been gay for as long as I could remember, and from that point on, my life made much more sense, I've felt wonderful since coming out, and I regularly wear shirts identifying myself as gay around my college campus, as I also feel that being very "out" helps closeted LGBTs.
Rachel Maddow is an inspiring gay woman, who goes far beyond that however. She is objective, and her news coverage is fanstastic. You watch her, and the last thing that comes to mind is... That woman is gay. Being gay myself, it is so nice to see someone like her covering news, and climbing up the prestige ladder of corporate news.
Yeah, I'm a little annoyed that she's gay, but only because I'm a man and she's fucking hot. Damn she's brave being openly gay in such a homophobic country like america(I'll capitalise when you because the first world country you claim to be).
i admire her bravery im not gay but im a Pagan and thanfully my mom did not care its my reletives telling me im going to hell and sending me nasty emails about the 10 commandments
"Rational deduction", huh? Must have been an interesting thought process. My sister came out when I was like 12, and from my heart I support Rachel in her statement.
@grauekatze It's always rational deduction and the process goes like that: Facts: I am a girl Straight girls like guys Bisexual girls like guys and girls Gay girls like girls number of guys I fell for: 0 number of girls I fell for: 473 deduction: I am gay. QED
LOL "I just sort of arrived at it through rational deduction". For me it was more like "There's this thing going on and I kind of know what it is, but it's too scary for me to deal with so I'm just going to ignore it until it gets past the point of being painfully obvious". Good times.
Rachel Maddow is an Oxford educated Rhodes Scholar (take note Christine O'Donnell) who has her pulse on what is right in American politics. Her nightly show contains the most well researched information I've ever seen or heard. The difference between the accuracy of her programme and the low brow, muck raking rubbish on the Fox Network is in a word QUALITY. Rachel cares about her audience enough to ensure that she delivers only the best in television journalism. Rachel is an American treasure.
17! I had my first crush in the 1st grade. My 2nd crush was in the 5th grade. I was transgendered from 1st grade until middle school when I started getting pressured. I was closeted for 7 years until I was 14 years old and tried to kill myself, I was forced to come out in order to get released from the hospital, and then I didn't come out on my own until I was 17 years old. Very emotional to look back.
@CWSmith1982 no she is not hiding anything, that is the whole point. don't hide and be yourself. i guess u didn't get the message, and instead feel its more worth your time to insult her looks.
Almost every day someone tries to post a gay-hating comment. If you came here to bash gays, I have the comments set to "approval only." So, they'll never show up.
This isn't about free speech. You're not entitled to post anything you want on my channel and gays aren't required to take your crap.
We hear it all the time--we grow up hearing it. Your hatred is deafening. But this is one place where you DON'T have the right to spew your hate.
*claps* Thank you. As much as free speech is great, gays are harassed and hated on youtube enough as it is. Sometimes we need a break from the crap. Thank you for your empowering words and thank you for posting this wonderful interview with my favorite American girl. <3
@GrrlRomeo I'm really glad you delete hate comments. I know everyone is entitled to free speech but there is nothing I hate more than when I read comments that are just so full of hatred, especially when its discrimination, like homophobia or racism, so thank you :)
One of these days I'm going to have to listen to her or watch her show. I just feel kinda dumb next to her :)
She's absolutely right about the closet. I'm not as out as I'd like to be, but thanks to courageous people like Rachel, I'm more out that I was, and one day I'll get all the way out.
Rachel is one of the smartest people around. She's not really my type and I'm definitely not her type, so I'm not saying that from lustful hopes. She is intelligent, informed and witty (and so is Olbermann and he is DEFINITELY not my type). I respect and admire her. I despise the newsbimbos on Fox, even though my smaller brain takes an interest in them.
I watch Fox out of a morbid facination in what the next leap in conservatism, homophobia and insults against significantly more intelligent anchors.
Oh, and of course to continue my tally in "How Many Times A Conservative/Right Winger On Fox Can Claim To Be Unbiased Before Keith Olbermann Kills Them".
Oh, and Maddow definately is one of the smartest people around.
When I say people don't have the right to post whatever they want on my channel, I mean that literally.
