  • how long does it take to get this good?

  • @Ak7kid well ive been doing this for 2 years and im on blue the rankings go white, yellow, orange, blue, green, brown, black, red, red and black ect

  • AWSOME DIPLAY OF TECHNIQUE AND CONTROL. some flash but unltra practical. dudes are obviously very skilled and amazing at muay thai.

  • Wow, really great sparring.

  • ive got my yellow white grading in 2 weeks! what should i expect?

  • excellent video guys, really enjoyed watching! Its great to see every technique thrown with such control, thanks for sharing!

  • Weird seeing Muay Thai graded but otherwise, really impressive!

  • this is really good .. i hope to become red white band... poor me im stil bown band

  • Great video!!

  • Awesome vid, i train with BJC in lonsdale, adelaide. Love it.

  • Awesome video is Craigieburn in Vic??

  • Thanks for your comments. This grading was at Craigie Leisure Centre, Whitfords - Western Australia.

  • @SIRFUI na perth

  • This is a good video showing great technique but I don't agree with having gradings in Muay Thai, they don't grade in Thailand so why anywhere else? Fighting in the ring should be the test of your skills, not how many grades you have passed.

  • @ranbirsingh50 i know what you mean, i run a Thai boxing gym and have been considering whether or not to use a grading system. I didn't come through one myself but wondered if my students would want one, usually they are just money making scams for gyms however not everyone wants to compete. Also in Thailand its a profession where as in the UK its a hobby (although there are pro fighters)

  • @ranbirsingh50 Grading in muay thai is only to represent you're ability and knowledge for purposes as a trainer

It is not compulsory to grade.

  • the bloke in the orange/black shorts with the black singlet sparrs absolutely beautifully with the red singlet bloke! love watching this vid before training.

  • really helpfull vid good work =)

  • ive got the same grading 7th december 08. i knew phil and graeme were on here so i thought id do some homework on what the grading should look like. and these look sharp and tight. and work like clockwork together. very impressive. hopefully i can look somewhere near as good. thanks for the insight boys

  • good blokes

  • in bjc muay thai the grading system goes from yellow, orange, blue, green, brown, black.

  • In BJC Muay Thai there are actually seven levels of singlet colour from White (beginner)to Black singlet with white logo (1st degree.)The two grading in this video are at Advanced instructor level - Red singlet for 3rd degree and Red/White singlet for 4th degree. There are also other coloured singlets at higher degree ranks. Grading requirements for 3rd degree and above are based on the number of classes taught and the ability of the person as an instructor/trainer. See web for more details.

  • Do the singlet levels have titles at all like Sho Dan or Nidan? this video is very impressive stuff, yes very impressive. Thanks for showing.

  • Awesome stuff Renshi, If I can train to get even a quarter as good as that Ill die a happi man!

    LOL @ Desraks comment :D

  • I didn't think Muay Thai had gradings!?!

  • BJC Muay Thai has a coloured singlet system of grading both students and instructors.

  • that's interesting. because like Misfit, a red flag instantly went up in my head telling me there have never been any sort of grading system in muay thai, at the first viewing of the title.

now i'm assuming because your school is primarily a karate school, then they've implemented a grading system for muay thai?

i can definately respect that...although it's still a bit unusual for me.

  • Our organisation (BJC) was the first group to import and promote Thai Boxing in Australia. BJC Muay Thai provides students with a system that provides effective self-defence applications combined with competitive and sporting components. The syllabus also includes a grading system, similar to the system used in most martial arts. Muay Thai grades are recognizable by the colour of the singlet that the student wears. In competition we follow World Kickboxing Association rules.

  • i see thank you!

  • May I ask please does Sean still train there? He used to bounce at Red Sea, short solid built guy with beard and spiky hair. That guy is amazing. Anyone? Thanks

  • Zen Do Kai karate literally means the "best of everything in progression". Both Phil and Graham are talented martial artists in many styles including Muay Thai, Zen Do Kai Karate and Filipino martial arts such as Kombatan Arnis. Renshi Graham has also studied other traditional styles of martial arts. Both Phil and Graham enjoy teaching and sharing their skills and welcome comments and questions.

  • Nice work Renshi Graham( graded to Red-White) and Sensei Phil(graded to Red) these 2 guys are awesome, i have the pleasure of being tought by BOTH of these blokes and i love it, and just to clarify things here, RENSHI Graham AND SENSEI Phil are both "karate instructors" who also do/ Teach Muay Thai.

    Yours in Bushido

  • To Desrak,

Nice comment. One thing you may not have realised is that the two Thai fighters doing the demo ARE also karate guys who wear Gis ... AND the karate guys in the background also do Thai AND actually showed the two guys in the video how to do all that stuff.

Thanks for showing interest in Zen Do Kai,

  • Top stuff guys - inspirational!

  • All the guys in their Gis must be thinking "Man we fucked up not taking Muay Thai".
