Parts of Europe are scrapping their wind farm projects... they are not efficient and the power needed to run them when the wind is not blowing offsets any savings they might have had otherwise.

3. If new alternative energy jobs are there someone has to make the parts for them.

The technology sort of exists... but is wayyyy too costly to be feasible. With the current methods of producing these "clean" energy sources, they actually produce more waste in the manufacturing process than they save. More time and money need to be spent perfecting them for the market.

I wish these videos would include all of the facts. We cannot drill our way out of our energy problem. Anyone who supports that approach is just voting for the status quo. The Automaker's who got aid from the goverment should be commissioned to build wind turbine's,solar panel's,etc.

The goverment has studied alternative energy for many year's and should've had a plan to use by now! Tax payer's have been funding this for year's and the only solution the prez. has is to Cap and Trade! We have already paid our due's! We want new factories here making this techonolgy now! Why have do we have to pay so much for simple answer's to the energy problem's?

The automakers are failing in selling competitive cars... what makes you think they can do anything better with a completely different industry as they focused on big trucks and SUV's and avoided too much research into clean energy?

The only way your suggestion would work is if the automakers would fail, but new clean energy companies would take over the assets and employees and try to retool as best as they can. GM might not exist, but you'll get rid of the UAW and other strangleholds too.

Why don't we American's commission the failed automaker's to retool the closed factories to build wind turbines and solar panel's! We would most effectively generate many job's from this while providing a real time solution for our energy need's . It would recover our tax dollar's! You can't logicially tell me they can't or that it can't be done cost effectively. Building these technologies is a no brainer for people who can build car's

The alternative energy system's I speak of are being constructed all over the world both large scale and Homestead style. I see nothing wrong with generating 3 million mega watt's off shore in one "farm" and powering ten of thousand's of home's. It's not going to kill any union or make any traditionalist's unhappy! It will generate a prosperous enconomy......
