I can't do the finger rasqueado properly when starting at the ring finger, I do it a lot better starting at the index finger. Is this a bad thing?

@rockermetalhead1200 Im not that much specialized into flamenco and rasgueado's, but to make the fingers stroke once, it could sound right but I think if you want to make a continuous one then you absolutely need to do it reverse side. Here's some tip to make it easier, though I dont know if its legal into 'academic' flamenco technique... Use your thumb as a balance point while pressing with it on the low E string. Example : See Kelly Valleau's Fur ludwing, watch his right hand carefully.
