He did actually have a band playing his own self-composed music, (electric), and he's got maybe half a dozen albums like that. He's planning to go on tour with his old band playing lead in the near future, actually

i can only conclude to many opions, that Tommy should be taken into the hall of fame as Eric Clapton, BB King, Jumi Hendrix, etc...

But the point is, that Tommy never released an original top song in the international music charts, like Lola, Purple Rain, etc...

yes this is total improv. anyhow even the most rehearsed pieces, when played by a great artist, contain improvisational elements, but this appears to be 100% improv, of course aside from the fact he's probably been playing some of those licks since he was 15.

He was actually broke awhile back and really struggling with money. Makes you wonder, that if a near untouchable player can struggle, what chance does a normal [or even great] player have?

These guys don't worry about video clips and what they wear. They don't customize songs and image to appeal to a fruitful demographic.

Everyone who plays knows how much courage you need to be yourself on the stage. Not to act, just to be who you are. After learning all the scales, chords and progressions, you will find that final and most important guitar lesson is to open your heart. That's Tommy.

It's a shame and yet at the same time that we rarely see tommy playing an electric guitar. In some ways we were so spoilt in his earlier years when he was touring australia with his determination and journey albums. To see him in G3 would be absolutely incredible. I would pay anything to see that.
