:D Robust Porter!!!! Porters are my favorite style. So smokey and dark yet fresh and light. Very underrated. And by the way has anyone told you you have a voice for audiobooks? I can sleep to your videos my friend! Cheers...
Here is a Belgian Blonde ale. Pine nut variety though. Since you have helped me. Beligian Blonde Pine Nut Ale: 6lb. Wheat malt extract 2lb. extra light DME .5 oz Glacier 60 mins .5oz Glacier 20 mins 1 oz Cascade 5 mins 1oz Glacier for dry hoping Irish Moss 10 mins 1/2 lb. Carmel Grain 10L and 1/2 lb white wheat for steep 8 oz Pine nut 4oz for steep and 4oz for dry hoping with Glacier Wyeast Yeast 3944 You should roast the pine nuts in the oven till they are golden before using in wort.
I hope they are female plants. I took some cuttings from a mate that I know will flower and mine are coming on fine thanks to the tropical UK weather at the moment. Don't rely on seeds folks if you're going to grow hops they are a relation of the cannabis family and will only flower if they are female.
Looking good. With the warm weather here for the last month and a half or so, mine have taken off and are growing like weeds. From what I have read, first year rhizomes might not grow more than 6-8 feet, but mine are already almost 5 feet tall. I have to do some rigging to make the twine long enough to support growth for another 3 or 4 months.
It's a good thing I held off planting because it dipped below freezing just a few nights after this was made. Although from what I hear from other hops growers the frost might kill the biggest bines but more will pop up. Apparently it's really hard to kill these plants.
