Stole my gps and my backpack had nothing worth of value money wise but had 20+ pages of notes for my research paper in it and a history text book that cost 100 to replace but my copy was in crappy condition so it was of no value. They didin't break my window though must of had a slim jim or jiggler keys.

You'll probably find that even though your gps was hidden he saw that you had one because of the circle mark left from the suction cup. Best way is to bring a tea towel and to wipe the circle away after packing away the gps.
