This is cool! I wonder if someone could get a collection of these things, mount them on a stand of some sort and incorporate them into a drum set? It would be cool to play them with sticks or xylophone/bells/marimba mallets.
I have a set of these, they are easily bent/warped. Hitting them against something very hard, or hitting them very hard WITH something is not advised. And as a side note, the absolute best resonance is achieved when stricking your head with them.
Thanks for your comment. The Boomwhacker Choir uses soft towels placed on the tables to avoid warping. I agree that hitting them hard with something would probably warp them more quickly. And yes, the best resonance does seem to be achieved by striking your head, but with a choir that would be difficult to do without the students accidentally hitting each other! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
