I live 5 minutes from the Horseshoe Pass, it was my daily run to work in Llangollen. Even when officially closed due to snow, the trail bike is great fun in the snow :)
OMG! what on earth did he buy an R1 for if he's gonna ride like that? The poor fella looks scared to death. The best training this fella could have is in the showroom, picking a bike he can ride.
I was there last week for breakfast! I used to take my mum up there every week! I miss living in Wales! Back in Japan now but nothing compares to the beauty of North Wales (and the Lake District)!
Its God's country full stop! Cheers mate, you brought back some good memories. I've lost track of the amount of times I've walked along that road, from the Valle Crucis camp site to the Britannia Inn (great family pub), and to LLangollen itself. Anyone thinking of going, go! You'll be hooked, and I guarantee you'll go back again and again.
A well handling bike or car on that route is Heaven on Earth, just watch out for the sheep. Fantastic!
This was his first run after the dinner break. He would have had a radio and two speakers in his helmet. So yes, in this clip I was looking at developing his observation skills, by looking further ahead and planning the ride before committing to the hazard.
sheep sun bathing on the edge of the road are a right pain.
so are the local fuzz.

What a great ride, remember coming up the pass sometime in the 60s after completing the 24 hr bike rally, do they still have that?
We were so tired that we stopped at the top and fell asleep in the midday sun, and spent the next week overcoming sun burn in Rhyl
Great vids, fond memories.
