1. the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection basically means that traits in animals that are beneficial to survival in a particular environment will be passed on to the next generation. Eventually a species will diversify, and given enough time (plenty given the age of the Earth is around 4.5 Billion years according to both Geological and Atomic Theory) whole new species will arise.
This Theory is supported by observations of the natural world, Paleontology and the geological column and now in the modern science of Genetics, where we can see just where these changes occur.

see unlike religion, science really doesn't care what the people say...they rather prefer look at the evidence. that there are people (some with lots of letters after their names) who are skeptical of evolutionary theory is wonderful for chatroom postings and for youtube comment pages, but it means little to the body of work in question.
instead of names, list the reasons why these people are skeptical. that would at least give a reason for people to care.

If you think about it, how many dinosaurs could a meteor have killed at one time? Even if there were some kind of dinosaur Woodstock going on, what, a couple thousand dead dinos tops, right? Therefore, dinos clearly lived in the Garden of Eden as vegetarians and were punished to become carnivores as a consequence of the Original Sin. The only thing left to do is Jurassic Park us up a T-rex and nail him to a cross to redeem him for his sins.

Suppose that these genes were all present, with no extra genes. if they randomly aranged themselves every second it would take 400 to the 400th power. try that on a calculator (it overflows). These odds are difficult to grasp. This is for ONE cell which still relies on other cells for life. plus. Answer me this:

Biological systems aren't brought together by "chance";it's the electrical chemical bonding of their atom,that's what determines it.

As for "believing" in Evolution, I no more believe it in that I believe the sky is blue.I accept the evidence.Belief is the leap passed evidence, where logic and reason can't apply;eg many people 'Believe' that UFO's come from ET,well there's no evidence for that(Unfortunately).But the belief in a higher being isn't a constant.The ancient World was also surprisingly secular if you look at the histories of many of the Greek scientists, and Roman writers.

An important mistake to realise in Creationist thought is that in scientific terminology nothing is "proven"; that's a mathematical term.
It isn't a hard,written in stone dogma.
Theories are always being tested,and for instance,gravity is still an unknown element.
We know what it is, we can see what it does,but no-one knows where it comes from.

And about transitional fossils from Dinos to Mammals- nearly all dinosaur bones give evidence implicating that they were warm and cold blooded (look in any science textbook made after 1980). We may very well have already found the transitional fossils, but don't recognize them because they aren't very different from dinosaurs. You are wrong on all accounts...

1. the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection basically means that traits in animals that are beneficial to survival in a particular environment will be passed on to the next generation. Eventually a species will diversify, and given enough time (plenty given the age of the Earth is around 4.5 Billion years according to both Geological and Atomic Theory) whole new species will arise.
