Dommage le début de l'enregistrement est mauvais, mais j'ai eu assez de patience pour attendre que ça soit audible. Bravo Sergey, tu joues magistralement un pièce difficile. Bravo et bonne chance!
i looked at the score, and some parts require you to hit 8 notes and there's a huge spread.....how do you even play this piece if it's only for 1 hand?
@dalecampbl9 I don't quite remember what place of the piece you mean. Unless you speak of pressing two keys with one thumb which gives us a total of six notes a time per one hand, it's probably about big spread chords that are usually unashamedly taken arpeggiato, that is, with their notes being pressed quickly but one by one, usually from the lowest ones up, imitating harp style of playing, hence the name arpeggiato.
@sergeypiano actually you are correct, upon closer inspection, it appears that you hit like 5 notes as grace notes but they get sustained before you hit 3 more above...that is doable...my bad
premiered on november 27, 1931 in Vienna and composed by Ravel for pianist Paul Wittgenstein who lost his right arm during the 1st world war, contrary to the concert in G major this one in kind of obscure, but still interesting for the unusual characteristic of a one handed interpretation
but I think this guy knows better in how to put his right hand comfortable than Song does. dont you think that Song's right hand looks like diabled? lol..

@dalecampbl9 I play thins concerto now also and there's no really a place where you must hold or take 8 notes togather.

@nitarbell Oh, I hope you'll be all right. Anyway, if you seize the opportunity to study the concerto, it'll be a time worth spending.

@sergeypiano Thank you, I'll make sure I will. :)
Great performance, by the way.

@nitarbell
Three months ago I hurted one of my righthand finger
so I can only play the piano with my left hand for nearly a month
so I tried studying this concerto
it's difficult but really fun and interesting~!

Wow, that piano sounds incredibly thin. It is a completely inappropriate instrument for a piece and performer of this caliber.
coasterman16 2 years ago
Perhaps this is in part due to the recording, however I must agree that the piano there was far from the best I've played on.
sergeypiano 2 years ago
It could be the recording. I was just disappointed in the timbre of the piano because this piece really deserves a thick, rich sound.

the orchestra doesn't serve the pianist justice! i LOVE THIS PIECE!

Not so bad, but a little bit flat. I prefer the interpretation of Siheng Song on this site too : More sensitive. Question of taste.
