    what you can do to reduce boot time:

    dont start the daemos you dont need at boot!

  • This is a good video, because it shows how Linux can be customised for whatever purpose you prefer: however, a typical GNOME/KDE session boot will take longer to boot then Fluxbox due to more advanced services such as HAL.

    Still, under 40 seconds is pretty impressive.

  • mmm you should do a search on Match boot linux...5 second on a regular pc as well, but nice work for a fully functional desktop.

  • Slackware is an awesome distribution. I prefer the xfce desktop though.
